You can't go wrong with a trip to the LA Zoo. Be sure to take sunscreen in the summer it gets super hot, especially if you are from out of town. I need to go back and check out the Rhino exhibit!

It is a good place to exercise but better in winter because in summer it is difficult due to the heat. There is a lot to walk and a variety of animals, in addition to many places to eat, I recommend it for the whole family.

We went to see the Holiday lights. It was a nice, fun and enjoyable night. We took our two young daughters,9 and 11 who enjoyed the entire park lights. The lines to enter are really long but it moves fairly quickly. The water light show was the best. You do not see any animals except for lizards and snakes. We will definitely go back every year.

We where having a bad day and a employee notice, they came and talked to us about the animals and their lifestyle it was really educational and turn the entire trip around. We now go there every season.

Nice place to spend day with my kids, if your kids are too young to walk I suggest you bring a stroller. I forgot mine and the rentals are old and dingy. Be ready to spend a few bucks, prices are a little high and bathrooms could be cleaner

Seen the LA Zoo and loved the visit. A pretty big zoo and I found it affordable with a few places to eat throughout the zoo. Also was able to bring a few snacks for the visit and enjoyed my day.

Fun place to visit with family, many animals to see lots of fun. Chimpanzees are hilarious, while the Low land Silver Back Gorillas are amazing you watch. Reptiles too many to mention but are amazing.

A very calm place, lots of shade, during the summer it is the perfect place to hang out, think, unwind. I have a family membership and begun coming here in the mornings before work... puts me in a good mood.

Haven't been to the zoo in 25 years. It was okay, I kind of felt sorry for the animals because they are in such small enclosures. It was a nice day! I had a hamburger for lunch which I did not think was very tasty.

Highly satisfied!!! And most definitely recommend families to swing on by to L.A zoo. Just WOW. It's the first time I bring my family and the staff was just over the top on top of it with their kindness and very helpful and resourceful. On top on animals needs and resources on letting us know as we browse and enjoy their company. It was just an amazing experience!!! Thanks for everything. Keep up the great work!

Large, but pretty sad zoo. The animals do not have a lot of space and definitely do not look happy. I saw this zoo after the one in Columbus OH, no comparison, the one in Ohio is so much better!

Not sure what happened to all the animals but most of be exhibits were either under construction or closed. The ones that did have animals only had about 1 or two. It was very disappointing and underwhelming. I went along with my pregnant sister who wanted a soft serve ice cream all day. We arrived at the churros station which had ice cream at 4:25pm. They refused to serve us even though the stands didn t close until 4:30pm. Thankfully a nicer lady at the ice cream stand near the entrance served us at 4:35pm. Wouldn t waste my money coming back here!

Let me start by saying this place is very expensive as soon as you walk in there are a bunch of shops I don t no why this place needs to many shops then they don t have a lot of animals and more then 5 exhibition Where closed all I did was walk up and down hills and saw like 10 different animals I really want my money back never again will I come here don t recommend

So... I live in Las Vegas & the zoo said it was open until 5pm. I showed up at 4pm meaning I had an HOUR to look at the animals, right? Nope. The "big" animals get out away at 4pm & the only thing to view is reptiles. So I never ended up going inside. It was a waste of time.

It absolutley sucked my wife is a vet, and she personally thought certain animals needed more water in tank. More room and it was more then obvious that they needed somewhere to run or jump or even SHADE! A hippo in 3 ft green moldy water, they stand on fours at about 6ft. Also most animal werent in the attractions. And if they were they were very distant. The gorillas were so undernourished. Can see there ribs. Anyway my rant is done. SanDiego Zoo is the way to go. hope i helped save your money.

It may be the cause of the epidemic, and I can only watch it for about two hours (letting in at 2:30 and asking to come out before 5:30. But the actual viewing is up to two hours.). Many animals only saw a little figure, many animals did not see it at all. There are only a few good-looking animals. I took the three-year-old child who had been holding back for a long time to see, and he was probably satisfied. But from an adult s perspective, this zoo is not good.

Went with the wife to LA Zoo lights. It was nice to walk around enjoy the scenery and check out the zoo at night. Not to expensive and they serve beer and hot coco with baileys if you up for that.

Came to the LA zoo light show, absolutely an embarrassment. No more than lights hanging from trees. You re better off going into certain neighborhoods that get together and put on a real light show. Much more entertaining there

The family cannot get enough of this place! You must get an annual pass. Any chance that I have, I take our toddler here. There s so much to do and see. With the pass, you can take your time and check out one little area at a time, with this approach, you can spread out at least 20 visits before you see the whole zoo. There s also special timed shows like the bird show etc., and during the winter, there s the LA Zoo Lights. This is an evening extravaganza not to be missed. Even though we stayed way past our toddler s bedtime, it was well worth it! They have mesmerizing lights that give the daytime zoo exhibits a run for their money, and lastly, they have plenty cocktail carts to keep the adults entertained :-)
As far as the food goes, it s typical them park food such as pizza, chicken strips and burgers; the vegetarian food doesn t reach far beyond the garden burger, but at least its something. We usually reach for some churros and popcorn; can t go wrong with that!

There is no one, 3 poor animals in very small spaces. Parrots have parrots as the skinny lion.
The meaning of the visit is very poorly indicate, have the impression of turning in circles. Many spaces under construction. Even if it costs only $ 22, it's better to put in a good burger than in this garden of insects.

Really liked it here, allot of walking though and not allot of rest places but zoo was clean and animals looked relaxed and happy the only thing I didn't really like was most of the staff looked very miserable working there we didn't go a hello or good morning or nothing from them that's the only reason I gave 4 stars

Well half the animals weren't even in their exhibits.
If they are open from 10am-5pm that gives employees enough time to take care of the animals either earlier or later.
The majority of these animals are not housed properly.. I think it would be wiser to put nocturnal animals all in one place and animals that are from colder climates in better conditioned exhibits. A lot of people would call this animal neglect.

My concluding thoughts: why not just set these animals free? To their correct habitats of course.
