Great location, clean rooms, nice bar. Elevator doors don't stay open long enough (saw them close on visitors almost every time we used them and seemed to be a common beef among all the guests), no views from the 49th floor on the south and east side of the building (can't speak for the north and west), showers had a design flaw (no door) so the bathroom floor in front of the shower was covered in 1/4" of water whenever we used it. No refrigerator in the room to use for anything other than hotel stock and power outlet near the desk didnt work. But great service, quiet and like I said, great location.

I come to New York every year, and this was my first stay at the London. Never again. The staff were disorganised and unhelpful, and the service was awful.
My partner was arriving late in the evening, so I asked for a key to be left at reception for her. I even checked with the manager who assured me there would be no problems. Surprise, surprise, there was no key and I had to rush back from my dinner with clients to let her in. Disgraceful. I spoke to the manager who couldn't care less.
We were celebrating an anniversary - most hotels would at least acknowledge it. We got nothing.
We moved rooms twice - one person told us our bags would be moved for us while were out, another staff member told us we 'don't move bags'. We ended up moving them ourselves.
There was no help with bags either at check in or check out.
We were never given a 'Do Not Disturb' sign. I asked for one twice. Never arrived. Every morning the housekeeping staff walked right in and woke us up.
The Gordon Ramsey breakfast has no freshly squeezed juice. Even a road side diner has freshly squeezed juice.
I stay in 5 star hotels all over the world. This hotel is run like a shoddy motel. They made my stay in New York unpleasant and stressful.
Avoid at all costs. I couldn't wait to leave.

We had an amazing stay at the London! Certainly feels luxurious and clearly they have thought carefully about service. I used Hilton points to book our stay and received breakfast in room as part of the Diamond member benefits. We got rooms facing Central Park and we were happy with the view. A memorable visit that we hope to repeat one day

Great location, great staff and great service. I booked The London through American Express Travel Fine Hotels and Resorts program. Got a good rate and package which included breakfast, 4pm late checkout and $100 property credit. And a free room upgrade when available. The hotel is very nice, close to broadway, and I'd say overall a solid 4-stars because the rooms and common areas are a bit beat-up and dated. A few stains in the carpeting and caulking in the bathroom peeling but other than that the room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was large enough for 2 to use at once. The suite did not have a view but facing north was good because it was quiet, especially on the 27th floor. I would ask for a suite further away from the elevator shaft for 2 reasons; no elevator noise but also no noise from the water tower pipes. We ordered room service for breakfast and service was prompt and food arrived warm, although prices for room service were exorbitant- $107 for a regular breakfast for 2. But we all know convenience has a price. They don't have evening turndown service but that would have been a nice touch at this price point. All in all, I will stay again on my next trip.

I've been coming to The London NYC for years. It "once" was GREAT HOTEL. It has change so very much:front desk people are arrogant and sarcastic, the rooms have gone down hill dramatically:showers old and tiles coming apart and smelly, the towels felt like sandpaper, and the room just smelled. The concierge staff were all very friendly and very helpful. The clientele has changed drastically: there were huge droves of "thugs" and hooker like women hanging in the lobby and in front of the hotel. I guess if I wanted to buy some drugs or patronize the oldest profession in the world, it would have been a fun trip. Alas, I will not be returning until they get their act together and spruce up the place a little! There are too many great hotels in NYC.

Very crowded on a rainy evening. Food is professionally and expertly made. Eating in the bar was comfortable, enabled people watching, and was enjoyable. Hotel prices, for VG food = worth it.

We just had a fantastic stay at the London NYC. Great location, easy access to the subway, bus, and pedicabs (if you so desire). The hotel itself was excellent -- modern and well kept. Everyone we encountered was extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed at the 2-bedroom suite, and it was roomy and very comfortable. Highly recommended for families.

Would not recommend to anyone needing actual services.
Checkin and checkout always take forever
Calls to the front desk is never picked up
Do not bother to upgrade to city view rooms, since views are non-existent....
The only good thing about this hotel is that all rooms are suites.
But the downtown location Conrad has all suites as well, with much better service and newer rooms
This hotel is more like a Hilton garden inn level in terms of service and efficiency.

Nice location and generously sized suites. Unfortunately, the hilton honours memership upgrade priviledges does not seem extended to this hotel. Where a free uograde would have been offered to me in the hilton properties, i was asked to pay for one despite being gold. We are on the 42nd floor of the hotel and the elevators can sometimes take very long to arrive.

Never again

I have left a 5 star review.
However, I was very disappointed this hotel charged $130 more. I wound not have been able to know it if I did not carefully check my credit card statement.

Located at the center of Manhattan. You can walk to Central Park, Time Square, and etc. Staffs are very kind. Room services are a bit expensive though.

LIAR! I called to ask if they have sofa bed for all suits, and they confirmed. When I got a non-refundable ticker, they told me "hey fun fact, the suits doesn't have a sofa bed." Liar! In fact, I have recordings confirming how 2 agents give you completely opposite information before and after you booked with them.

Nice enough hotel, but I was expecting a bit more. Rooms are spacious but a little tired, and they charge you to use the computer/print. For such a lovely hotel, just wanted a little more.

If I could give it 4.5 Stars I would. The London is a top notch hotel with large guest rooms and service that is both understated and attentive. But, there are quirky elements to this hotel that will hopefully be fixed once the renovations begin in October. For one, the rooms do not have closets. The bedroom always seems to look cluttered especially if more than one person in the room for a longer stay. Second - I have never seen larger bathrooms in a hotel yet no tub. Instead a shower oasis that is way oversized and a waste.

The restaurant is excellent and the staff is friendly. Oh, and if you are lucky enough to get an upper floor room on the west side of the building, the views of Central Park are spectacular.

Nice hotel. Would come again. Breakfast space is a little limited, so there sometimes is a line, we once waited 15 min. We had a one bedroom suite, which was spacious (unusual for NY) and very clean. Bathroom was also nice, with two showers. Would surely come again.

This hotel was amazing, the room we got was huge (had a living room, bad room and a duble shower).
Everything was clean and set out nicely.
The breakfast was good (only had the buffet), not much of a verity, but it wasn't necessary. The food was fresh and tasty.
The service will have a split review. Some of the staff was great (the bell boy was especially nice)
At the front desk we didn't got such a nice welcome. And except of the check out time (when we encountered a smile and good service) the service was bad, felt like we were forcing them to do something that they are not spouse to do....
At the restaurant the service was great at most (except for our last day)
So people will be people, some will be nice and some won't, but didn't think to see this extreme with the same staff at the same place

Horrible service. I couldn't even check into my room at 5:15pm because it hadn't been cleaned. Had to push the staff to allow for me to check into another room. Asking for help from the front desk is a waste of time. Breakfast in the hotel bar/restaurant is below average. Never going back.

My Stay This Past Sunday Was Horrible. The Staff was not accomadating at all i requested to be on the 18th fl because that use to be the smoking floor and was told i dont need to be on that floor because its no longer a smoking hotel and there will be a 300$ CHARGE. Granted i said ill just take it outside thats Understandable. The lady repeatedly told me do not smoke 3 times during check in conversation. I politely told her after the last time i get it im not a child i understand rules. I then was put on 12th fl Coincidentally after 45mins of taking a nap the fire alarms in both parts of the room went off scared me out my sleep. I then called the front desk and notified them security came banging on the door demanding to inspect the room. During inspection Security Then stated the room phone wasnt working. The security said evrything looks okay she ll deactivate the alarms from the control room and ill have to stay up for about another hour or so someone can look at the phone. I was livid it was my birthday and i was trying to get rest before going out for the night. I then packed up all my stuff and went to the front desk for a room change and the new room was dirty and dingy looking in the bedroom. After being in the new
Room I was bothered by staff 3 times after asking is everything okay. Randoms Knocks on the door. The whole concept of the stay was horrible. I felt targeted after a while so i literally just left got my make up done and came back late to go to bed. Never again will i stay here..

As a hotel, this place was wonderful and such an experience - we were glad we picked it. We also decided to dine in the restaurant, which had some wonderful staff but I felt the food didn't stand up to the very high prices.

The hotel looks great and the staff are very helpful and friendly. From the moment I checked in I felt this comfortable and warm greeting from the concierge and staff. The room was amazing with a beautiful view. I definitely recommend this to friends and family or if your just looking for a romantic getaway with your significant other.

I have stayed at The London NYC several times in the past 12 months, and the total experience has been exceptional each time. The rooms are spacious, well-appointed, and squeaky clean. The staff are very friendly and capable. Fastest check-in on the planet!

Stayed in Feb 2019, having a birthday week! Great place to spent with family, super spacious+clean room, nice service, cool bathroom! seeing snow fall outside window.. we can feel NYC very well in a warm fine room! Very nice and clean rooms. Gym was very nice and clean as well. Staff was very kind and friendly. ONLY complaint-I want to be able to carry my own luggage. I know its a rule for the door men union; however, I would pay you to let me mess with my mess.

I'm a big fan of Conrad Hotels and a Lifetime Diamond Member. My favorite Conrad is Hong Kong where I've been staying for nearly 3 decades.

The NY property is nice but not Pacific Place or SunTec.

People here are very nice

Restaurant is basic, serviceable.

Heating system is noisy but I guess that goes with being an old building

Location is good - at least for my purposes.

Rooms away from the elevator would be preferable.

Allowed us to check in 5 hours early! Amazing room with beautiful views. Shower and bathroom were magnificent. Well worth the price. Close enough to everything but far enough to very so slightly escape people. Only complains were the maids. Came in three times a day including one night at 9:30pm. Was not given a Do Not Disturb sign and had to keep locking the door. Still didn't get the memo apparently. But wondeful place, otherwise treated great. Definitely will stay again

Absolutely incredible hotel. If you can spring for it, definitely opt for the Premium Suite.. You do have to pay extra for a "park view" but from the 37th floor where I was, there was just a glimpse of the corner of Central Park. Not too cool to charge extra for that "view" but, hey.. I doubt it would be better on a higher floor either, as there's an enormous building in between. Maybe the "city view" side would be better, facing south...? Probably big buildings obstructing that view as well. Don't get me wrong; this place is amazing. It is a real luxury hotel. Hope your HH points game is strong for this one..

(edit)I've only been here once since the switch to being the Conrad, and unfortunately I don't think this is my go-to NYC hotel anymore. In house dining is no longer something I would recommend. Took a long time, and pricing makes no sense for what you get, which was essentially diner food. The restaurant before was one of my favorite on-site hotel restaurants, so this is a huge shift. The rooms remain clean and vastly unchanged. They "updated" some parts of them, and other parts that could use a coat of paint or touch-up seemed overlooked in the remodel. Ended up checking out early.

(Previous review)Very nice place to stay, allowing easy access to everywhere you'd like to spot in NYC.
The staff is friendly, in house dining is great, and the rooms are very nice.
Any issues we have had during our stays were promptly addressed.

Very nice hotel, but a tad over-priced, even by NYC standards. The rooms are good sized and the hotel is close to Central Park and walking distance to Time Square. Access to the subway is just 2 blocks away. The in-house restaurant is the most over-priced place in the world. Definitely not worth it. Front desk staff are very helpful, but too often the doorman is simply not there and of little help when they are there.
In a city like NY, there are too many better options that are better priced and have a better team of people to help you.

We are from DC and we were in town to see Hamilton on Broadway. We called before hand to inquire about early check in. The person on the phone assured us early check in was available. Early check in was important because our show started at 2:15. Once we arrived, it was told that rooms were not available. I took 20 mins to explain that we had actually call...showed them the call that was made. Finally we were given our room. Clean, and spacious. Towels were plenty. The furniture seemed a little dated but maybe that's the overall concept. This hotel is on a one way street. We ordered room service..it was ok. My burger was well done instead of medium well. We had a great stay overall.

I stayed in the London because the Hilton across the street overbooked my room (despite being a Gold Hilton Honors Member). The London was nice, the staff was very friendly, and I enjoyed my one night stay. I would definitely consider visiting The London again.

Absolutely love this place! The bar Dabble within the hotel is amazing! I love the ambience is wonderful. The food and drinks are great and the manager Hjalmar is always so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend visiting Dabble

Nice place to stay in NYC. We only needed one night here and as nice as it was we did not have any hot water. Front desk said something about it being a problem from the street but that didn't make sense. I was disappointed.
