before i start. trains come through and its noisy !

i dont get the price ! rooms are small and its cute but a cute place for that much ! i dont get it !!

all the reviews are fake ! come on people !

my girlfriend and i tried to cancel our trip out to hamptons after we found out 5 days in advance it was going to pour. no luck getting our money back and the front desk immediately put a double charge to hold and room occupancy after we call to cancel to make sure they had the money and us to dispute. policy is policy they said but they can bend the rules if they feel like it ?!?!?!

i tried but i guess i was too rude to favor a "bend the rules moment". they said if we can rent out the room they might give us a credit. after a few hours are argument they had called back with exciting news they have only 1 room left open, and if filled i would get my money back. i called a few times after, and even in the morning but they said they cannot give me money back even if they did occupy the room. thx for nothin!

this place isnt cheap. and a policy like that isnt far. if you super rich go for it. else, i wouldnt book this place unless you know for sure your going and weather is good. im sooooo angry about the fact that i canceled, they charged me anyway and still booked the room for someone else.

Quite charming and unique. Walking down main street to see quaint homes built back in the 1700's. Busy place with staff ready to attend to your needs. Was here on Memorial day weekend. Fresh flowers brighten the well- kept grounds. There was even someone cleaning the white picket fence. The gardens have benches and nice areas to sit.
There is also a restaurant on the side that had a great menu.

The Mill House Inn is, by far, the most charming place to stay in East Hampton! The accommodations are impeccably clean and comfortable, the breakfasts are amazing, and the owners, Gary and Sylvia Muller are caring and attentive. Best of all it's pet friendly! My dog loved it there too!

The best service ever. Delicious snack bar (with lots of options). Delicious and very fancy breakfast. In fact, everything was fancy, clean, hospitable and just amazing. The pillows were literally the softest pillows I have ever felt.
The only minus was that the room door had a slightly larger than comfortable opening at the bottom and so because our room (11) was right outside of the dining area, we heard conversation and never felt really private. Didn't take so much away however because the hospitality was incredible.

I recently had the dis-pleasure of speaking with J from the Mill House Inn team. I needed to cancel our reservation due to a work event & a sick animal. The pet was going to be coming with us for our stay, but as he has been very sick we had decided against that being safe for the hotel and for our pet. I understood there was going to be a fee charged for our cancellation, which was outside of 60 days. But I wasn't expecting double the amount, and certainly didn't expect to be charged taxes and fees twice. When I commented on this, I was told that the fees & taxes double charge "wasn't an error" however someone chose the wrong field when selecting things in the cancellation policy. To me, this sounds exactly like an error.

I imagine that plenty of prior customers have been double charged and didn't reach out, as they expected the hotel to be doing the right things by the customer. If I didn't look through my cancellation receipt with a fine toothed comb, I would never have uncovered this. I also had to go through the extra steps of making a new booking to even discover that the taxes & fees were included in my first booking made, as it wasn't clear in the e-mail received from the hotel.

I have no issues regarding a cancellation policy. However when I finally was able to get a call back, which was 4 days after my initial reaching out, I was treated so poorly it was alarming. I was spoken down to over the course of both phone calls, and also outright told speaking to me was a "complete waste of time". I was scolded and put down in other ways, that did not reflect the level of service I would expect from a hotel of this price point.

During the phone call I was informed I could use my refund on a future stay. After the way I was spoken to and treated on the phone, I can't fathom a situation in which I would ever choose to stay at this hotel. Based on the way I was spoken to - I also can't imagine why they would even try to have me stay there. I was treated as though I was a true nuisance to his day, and not remotely as though I was a customer of the hotel. I would absolutely never be able to recommend this hotel to anyone, based off the "customer service" I received, if you can even call it that.

I scheduled to have an engagement weekend here. I had to cancel due to personal issues that were rather serious. Their cancellation policy is completely ridiculous for the prices they have. I dealt with it and moved on, although their website was not specific at all about the cancellation policy and they admitted to me in an email that the website was confusing but there was nothing they could do about it. Hmm, sounds really unfair to me. I wrote them back explaining how I felt they were being extremely and unfair, but they didn't care how I felt at all. So, they ended up booking the room ANYWAY, the one I had booked, but yet, I still did not get my money back, because they said the entire place had to be booked out. Are you kidding me? Wow. I thought this was completely ridiculous, so you got my money, then someone else's too. So they offered to hold my deposit for a future date, with of course limitations and how they would be super willing to work with me. I emailed them recently, and when I asked for a favor, for some help on my actual wedding day, THEY NEVER RESPONDED AND NEVER CARED. I would not have done a bad review if they didn't disrespect me and never respond, I've been patient with them, but now at this point, I am extremely upset. It's a shame, because if they had just cancelled my money the first time, and gave it back to me, they would have had me and my entire family stay there for my wedding like I planned, but instead I'm going somewhere else, this place is rude, and money hungry. I don't need to have been there or know the staff personally to know that I was not treated properly or accommodated. No I have never been there, but don't reply to my comment like you did to others, saying I have no say on your place because I didn't come, well I would've but you never even gave me the chance to get there. RUDE. You have nothing to say. Period. You're in the wrong, I bet my email is still sitting there being ignored. My services will be with your competition, and my entire family will be staying elsewhere now. :) As someone who grew up with a business owner, I know that you always accommodate your customers, so that in the future, they will come back, and not tell their friends how horrible their experience was with your business.

Good business owners, read a negative comment, and instead of being defensive, apologize and ask how they can make it better, after reading their responses to others that were upset with their services, I'm even more disappointed with their company and care.

I came for 2 nights and stayed 9! I love this place. The breakfast (especially the french toast) is amazing and the staff are so nice. They were so flexible with us coming late, extending and taking up their dining room during the day. The front covered porch, with the view of the famous windmill, was perfect for my morning coffee. Also, we will always be thankful for the staff for letting us know the secrets of the locals for when we buy a house out here. We will definitely be returning! Thank you!

Been coming here for almost 15 years. Back when it was just Gary, Sylvia and Cory. We have seen the place expand to what it is today. We have stayed in most of the rooms, suites and even one of the cottages. Each has it's own charm. There are snacks served all day (pretzels, cookies, coffees, teas, chips and a host of others. The breakfast that is served is second to none. Fresh fruit, omelets, pancakes, French toast and will take special orders if you wish. During the day, the dining area is set up with an assortment of board games. The staff is exceptional. We always look forward to staying at the MHI. If it's for a few days or just a quick overnight getaway. You can't go wrong staying here.

I have added photos to help. Do not stay here. The place costs $500 per night. Look at the photos. It should cost $50 and at that price I might have been ok staying.

Having booked three nights at $1900, i did not stay, but asked for a refund based on the disgusting state of the room. See photos. They refused to refund the money.

Please look at all of my other reviews. I have never given a bad review until now. I support local businesses however I can t possibly be okay with this.

Can we give 6 stars? We stayed only 1 night last week (which wasn't long enough) and had a fantastic time. We stayed in Suite 20 which was incredible and loved all the additional touches to the place, such as free cookies, drinks and dvds which were perfect for an Autumn evening. The in room breakfast was also fantastic. We'll definitely be returning!

There are no better accommodations in East Hampton than the Mill House Inn. Each of the rooms has its own personality, so it's difficult to pick a favorite. All are beautifully furnished. The Mill House is spotlessly clean everywhere. The atmosphere is completely serene, so it's easy to relax from the moment you arrive. Members of the staff are warm, friendly and accommodating. The breakfast menu is amazing--another area where it's hard to choose a favorite. Every dish is expertly prepared and delicious. The portions are so generous that I'm never able to finish. Another plus--the Mill House Inn is pet- and child-friendly, and my son always loved his visits when he was a young boy! And how about those cookies!

I have stayed at the Mill House Inn several times and each time was wonderful. The rooms are terrific and the location is an easy walk to the center of town. The breakfast is something special to be enjoyed. I highly recommend this B&B and I look forward to my next visit.

I have never stayed in a room quite this perfect. Get one of the suites, enjoy one of the most amazing breakfasts of your life, and the staff here will get you anything else you need. They have beach passes, will get you any reservation you need, and are the only choice if you are staying ANYWHERE in the Hamptons!

While the price per night suggests that this is a nice place to say, I had the misfortune of experiencing that to be entirely false. The rooms at the Mill House Inn are older than the people who run it. The furniture is broken, the bathroom (which was the size of a port-a-potty) had a crack in the door and wouldn t close properly, and the entire room had a musty smell that punched you in the face when you walked in. I literally had to change out of my clothes to get the smell off of me. I never post reviews, but this place was such a disappointment, that I feel obligated to warn others. If this is your price point, stay at the topping rose house; you ll be doing your eyes and nose a favor.
