I have eaten many beyond burgers at many different restaurants and Local Eatery has... hans down...the best.If good food and good people are your priorities for eating out this is a must do place to enjoy.

Only reason it wasn't five star was the TERRIBLE service. Food was YUMMY and prices were really good, plus ambiance is nice. They also have nice gluten free options. We were there with a 4-top table after lunch and before dinner...We sat for an HOUR waiting to have our order taken then our food delivered. Tables that were seated well after us ate and paid before we got our food. Waitress purposefully seemed to avoid our table the entire time. I'd try it again because everything else was so good, but they need to make sure service isn't that poor.

I had lunch there today and ordered the Ranch Chicken Wrap with mild sauce. Well, one half had mild sauce and the other half had hot sauce. When I mentioned this to the waitress she said that was interesting because it couldn't happen. So, if anyone had lunch there today around 1 p.m. and ordered a chicken wrap and got one half mild other hot, I need to know. I love this restaurant but was disappointed my situation was discounted.

After a 40 minute wait and two or three comments from the waitress that our order should be out soon, there were 10 orders placed just before yours, we would told that our order was lost. Can't rate the food because we did not stay.

The Local is someplace I really want to love, but their kitchen is terribly inconsistent. Normally it's with the specials section of their menu, but this latest visit the bacon mac-n-cheese was terribly salty.

I love this restaurant and have a great meal every time I go. The food is awesome -- last time I had homemade ravioi filled with wild mushrooms and house-made ricotta in a sage brown butter sauce, and it was one of the best things I've ever eaten. Even their side salad is special, with roasted tomatoes, subtle feta cheese, and house-made viniagrette that includes granulated dried olives for a subtle, briney tang. The place is really family friendly and offers a diverse menu of comfort favorites and sandwiches with an often-changing list of specials worth a try. Everyone can find something they like to eat here, and they just might find it's one of the best versions of that item they've ever had. The Local rocks.

When I called to make a reservation for 20, five weeks in advance, I was told they couldn t do it because they didn t know how many people they would have. With over 14 years of restaurant experience myself, I can t express how disappointing and ridiculous an answer that is to me. Well, I know for sure they ll have 20 fewer patrons than they would have. We will take all of that money elsewhere.

Sad... used to be one of our favorite spots. The 1.5 hour wait and poor service has resulted in us looked to other local spots. Get it together.....

Edit. The kitchen came out and took care of us which I really respect. I ll give it another shot!

We have a child with food allergies of the carry-around-an-EpiPen level. Many restaurants now use hamburger buns with egg. We were happy find that The Local has vegan buns so were safe for him (no nuts either). Fries are fried in canola oil - not peanut (another of his allergies) oil. My other kids like the tenderloin. One of my sons decided to be adventurous and try the chicken gyro. He didn't like it. They immediately made it disappear and quickly replaced it with something he did like and comped the gyro. Handled perfectly.

I enjoyed the Mushroom burger the first time I had it. The next time - not as much. The mustard flavor was overpowering. At $13 for the burger it should be consistently better. I decided to splurge for the Cajun fries for $0.75 extra. I would suggest passing on add-on. It looks like they gave it some healthy shakes with the Cajun seasoning shaker and called it a day. I guess I was expecting something a little more gourmet for the up-charge.

The mac and cheese looks to be very popular from looking at the other tables. I had it as a side with my burger and can see why.

The Local gets very busy Friday nights. Be sure to make a reservation for popular evenings. Also be prepared to wait awhile for service during busy times. Sunday lunch was not busy at all and service was fine.

All in all, we enjoy this restaurant. My perception is the food consistency is a bit hit-or-miss. It is just a bit overpriced but who can blame them if they are so popular at times? Worth a try.

I highly recommend this place. Laid back. Family friendly side. Pub side. Great food.
I had the peanut butter burger with side of mac n cheese. The mac had CUBES of bacon in it!
Great tots too.

I ate in their outdoor seating. I met someone else there who was already seated when I arrived, so I never actually went in the restaurant. The food was good and the wait staff was attentive. I would definitely visit again.

The Local is by far my favorite restaurant in the area. My wife and I have a great time every single time we go. They have a restaurant area separate from the bar area. So we kind of pick a side depending on our mood. The restaurant side is quieter, while the bar side has tables and bar seating with TV's everywhere - it's a great place to be for a football game. We were really just there for a couple of beers, but ordered the Hummas Plate because the couple next to us were chowing down on it. That's something I would typically never order, but wow - delicious.

I've tried several plates, though 90% of time I order the lamb burger. Seriously, it's amazing. With a side of cajun tots. And to top it off, a glass (or 3) of Wee Mac, which is a Sun King Scottish Ale.

The first time we went, the bartender allowed us to sample a few beers and recommended different food items. She was extremely friendly, as is every other server that's ever waited on us.

This is a great local place. We frequent as often as we can. Great food, awesome staff, and reasonably priced. Oh, did I mention the goat cheese cake?

We have a new favorite restaurant! The Local has a unique twist on food that is like no other. My husband recommends the lamb burger, while I can't speak highly enough about the Yak burger. Yes, that's right ... YAK burger! It is soooo good! Chef Roscoe has really put together a great menu - worth the price.

I went to dinner with colleagues of mine. I chose the place and raved about the farm to table freshness. Food is fresh, no doubt. The kitchen isn't taking the time to make sure the plate is finished before it leaves the kitchen. I had the steak salad and subbed steak for seared salmon. Salmon was fine but the salad greens? A large amount with no dressing and walnut halves. It came to the table that way. Disappointed for the money. I like this place, but lately I have left underwhelmed.

It was the worse food I have ever had. I rather eat human feces that have those buffalo wings again. The service was despicable, waited 105 minutes following my order and the waiters excuse was "it's a busy night." Will not be returning. The milkshake was miles down to the point that it was a cummy texture. I rate one waiter a 9/10. The one good thing about this place.

Being completely fair, the sandwich was beautiful - but you HAVE to clean the shrimp. Yuk! They were out of 3 beers. However, the server was fantastic! That's why it's a 3 instead of a 2.

Not a great dining experience. The Local needs to take some pride in the service and food provided to customers. Bartender was unfriendly, ambiance was "meh" and food was not worth the price. My husband ordered the salmon and got the smallest piece of salmon I've ever seen with like 3 fingerling potatoes underneath. Not worth the price. I ordered steak and frites which consisted of frozen french fries with two sirloins on top. Steak was okay, did not eat the fries and had to ask for a steak knife. C'mon people, you advertise "farm to table" so people are expecting clean, fresh food, but frozen french fries and overpriced salmon are not what we had in mind. It was basic bar food at it's best. We will not be returning.

This place is a great place for first meetings. It provides a friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere and the menu is decent as well. If you are a heat seeker they have the chicken sandwich for you , along with the heat comes a great taste.

The food is great, ambiance is very weak and
the lighting is harsh daylight bulbs that give me a headache.
Change the lightbulbs to a soft white. The lighting also does not match.
Seriously, ten to twenty bucks, lighting fixed.

I placed an order on Grubhub and they cancelled some items without letting us know (so no option to order something else). I called and spoke with Lauren (manager) who claimed the Locals are not responsible for any mistakes to the order as they are not affiliated with Grubhub. The way she handled my concerns rubbed me the wrong way. Poor customer service. I will not be helping this local business anymore.

Is this place slipping?? This has been our "go-to" restaurant, but our last couple of experiences haven't been great. The food quality seems to be falling, and the value is dropping. I like that the portion sizes are not super-sized...but they seem to be diminishing even further. (Three scallops for $23?? Hmmm...). The service is also hit-or-miss. We are disappointed as we were so excited to find a unique, non-chain restaurant with good food. :(

We have always enjoyed the local. They have staples on the menu and great new items, also. You can never go wrong with the lamb burger. They make curbside pick-up very easy during the pandemic.

The food is always fantastic and I absolutely love the cajun tator tots. The only reason this place isn't a 5 star is that things always seem to move slowly like they aren't fully staffed.... can take a while to be seated, food takes a while to be brought out, etc.

Everything here tastes amazing and they have amazing tater tots as sides! In the summer, you can sit outside and enjoy the sun as well.

I love their black bean quinoa burger, which has avocado and goat cheese. Their chocolate torte with strawberry ice cream is so rich and to die for as well!

Absolutely delicious! We started with the goat cheese which we wanted to lick the plate clean. I had the steak salad and my husband had the Nashville hot chicken, both were sooooo good! The bacon vinaigrette was DELICIOUS! My only complaint was that we were charged $2.50 for additional bread for our goat cheese. (we had a ton left from the first loaf and were not told additional bread would cost)

The service was..... beckoned more than once. I use the word "beckoned" because it was first requested when we realized it was not going to be given in a timely manner. And more than once. It was a late lunch so the time of the day was not the issue. We had to practically beg our server to bring the check AND to pay. To add injury to insult, my friend was throwing up the rest of the evening, probably due to the homemade aioli. No thank you, won't be going back.

I have found every dish I've tried to very good. Hoping to try everything on the menu in the coming year. My favorite so far is the lamb burger, which has been cooked to perfection everything I've tried it.

Fresh food, well prepared. Delicious, clever menu. I was surprised and impressed that their bar stocks cachaca liquor to make caipirinha, one of my favorite cocktails. My gnocchi entre was scrumptious. My wife's burger was flavorful despite being served well done though ordered medium. Modern decor. Service was very good. We look forward to our next visit.

I eat out every night and like most, struggle to find healthy food. This is my FAVORITE place and it's not in my town, so I have a bit of a drive--totally worth it. The only thing I don't like is it gets very noisy inside, so I try to eat outside when the weather is nice. Fantastic salads and the brussel sprouts are so good that my kids starting eating them for the very first time. Now we always get the sprouts for an appetizer. Fresh, locally sourced, and the desserts are wonderful too!

The name says it all. The food is always great. You can come and have a burger and fries or beef tongue philly cheese steak. The menu changes all the time and includes items kids would love. It you pick well, you can feed a family of four for around $30. If you pick more exotic meals and have some libations, you can spend $50 plus for two. My only complaint is that it's very noisey. The open air space could really use some sound dampening. At the same time, not many would notice a screaming kid. If you enjoy some of the fast casual places around, you owe it to yourself to give The Local a shot.

First, the food WAS good. However, getting it was another matter.

Were seated at 6:30 ordered at 6:45. By 7:20 we had checked twice with our waitress & asked to see the manager. The food arrived and one (of 3) orders was cold (burger & tots). Manager arrived & apologized. Burger was reordered, but , did not appear until 7:40- on a redo!

Wrote off the cold food & offered dessert. None of us wanted to wait any more. Took another 25 minutes to get our bill and pay. Will not try again.

If you love the taste of the south, then come on down to this place and enjoy some GREAT southern foods! The collard greens, grits and shrimp, pork/beef ribs, baked beans, and macaroni and cheese are so delicious. Oh, one more thing the meat loaf sandwich is to die for

Carmel needs more local eateries, so it pains me to give a bad review. We have eaten here three times, each time my husband has had the same meal and each time it has been different. The only thing that was consistent with our visits is that the service is slow- even when the place isn t busy. The drinks are crazily over priced, even for Carmel prices and the menu is pretty small.

I am very conflicted about this place. Love the concept and the local offerings. Tastes are almost always amazing. Prices are a little high and portions sometimes a bit small for what you get. Servers were great.

I had a couple of comments for the owners and tried two different ways to communicate with them and did not hear back. Now if you have a website, update it. If you even spent the money/time to have an App, update it. If you say you are local, communicate with your locals through the social media/websites you have. Otherwise it might seem like you don't really care. Which makes me not wanna go back maybe.....but it is tasty...

Close to the Local, we have been eating there ever since they opened. This was our most disappointing experience to date. One of our orders was wrong, and the quality of our food was not like it used to be. Service was sporadic. It feels as those management has changed. We order the same items each time and it felt like a totally different restaurant (not a compliment).
