We have a child with food allergies of the carry-around-an-EpiPen level. Many restaurants now use hamburger buns with egg. We were happy find that The Local has vegan buns so were safe for him (no nuts either). Fries are fried in canola oil - not peanut (another of his allergies) oil. My other kids like the tenderloin. One of my sons decided to be adventurous and try the chicken gyro. He didn't like it. They immediately made it disappear and quickly replaced it with something he did like and comped the gyro. Handled perfectly.

I enjoyed the Mushroom burger the first time I had it. The next time - not as much. The mustard flavor was overpowering. At $13 for the burger it should be consistently better. I decided to splurge for the Cajun fries for $0.75 extra. I would suggest passing on add-on. It looks like they gave it some healthy shakes with the Cajun seasoning shaker and called it a day. I guess I was expecting something a little more gourmet for the up-charge.

The mac and cheese looks to be very popular from looking at the other tables. I had it as a side with my burger and can see why.

The Local gets very busy Friday nights. Be sure to make a reservation for popular evenings. Also be prepared to wait awhile for service during busy times. Sunday lunch was not busy at all and service was fine.

All in all, we enjoy this restaurant. My perception is the food consistency is a bit hit-or-miss. It is just a bit overpriced but who can blame them if they are so popular at times? Worth a try.
