Small tucked away restaurant with around 30 seats. Reportedly operated by an x-Zuma chef. Mostly Japanese/Asian staff providing good service. As it's small probably better to book.

Good menu range. Tasty miso soup. Excellent Rainbow roll; we were two persons and thought we may need two rolls but one roll was quite well sized and so well presented. Ebi tempura well done but think the dipping bowl should be larger. Salmon teriyaki was excellent and surprisingly large.

Definetely a place to return as do the locals.

It feels like a hidden gem and it really is. The kind of place you don't want too many people to know about. I can't wait to come back here. The best Sushi in London.

Decent style japanese food. Nice atmosphere however I found it rather pricey for the quantity (compared with other japanese portions I mean). This might have changed since the last time we went which was over a year ago.

Quite a regular customer and disappointed to find that I waited 30 minutes for an order that the manager said would take 10 simply because she didnt remember to call it out when it was ready. Good food let down by apathetic front of house

A cosy and popular local Japanese restaurant - but I have to confess, I found the nigiri a bit unremarkable. The fish simply didn't taste as fresh as I'd expect for the price point - a little bit dry and lacking a certain je ne sais quoi - I preferred Atari-ya.

The ambiance, generous portions, and tasty starters help to haul Maguro into four-star territory, making it a perfectly competent neighbourhood restaurant - but not necessarily worth travelling for. Bookings essential at the weekend.

I wanna say thank you so much to Maguro. I've been needing a sushi fix for a while, and although I had sushi recently at two places, my thirst did not disappear. However after eating Maguro's sushi, I felt a deep sense of fulfilment and contentment - I was extremely humbled to eat great quality sushi and I am happy to announce that I got my sushi fix. Now I will not need to eat sushi for another few months as I am now truly happy. The additional bonus was that after Maguro, I had a very smooth relief in the bathroom after many days of constipation. Truly Maguro's sushi is a miracle to my taste buds and my overall health. Thank you again.

Nice little restaurant, very good food. Service can be better; limited understanding of English language and no one asked how our food was. Also, no one explained what kind of sushi we got on our 'party plate'. On the bill there was a service charge of almost 8 pounds, but we hardly recieved any service. We did not know that you can refuse to pay the service fee, otherwise we would not have payed it.

Very good sushi. Tasty plates. Intimate experience when not busy. However, on most occasions gets way too crowded, noisy and tiring. You struggle to listen to your company because people next table stand in less than a meter from you.

Always amazingly friendly and attentive. Quality and value for money one of a kind in this day and age. I never have to think what to order - Maguro bento box please. The grilled chicken thigh alone is a stand-alone dish of outstanding quality. If you are a light eater you can always ask for a doggie bag. Smile and pay. No pain.

delicious. Udon soup is also cool and if you eat sushi in a foreign country, it's always watery, but this is not the case. Tempura and soy sauce are also delicious. However, the price comes out because it is London.

Went there for a special birthday dinner but it was completely ruined by the attitude of the staff and the big table next to us. Our table keeps getting kicked by the waiting staff when they walked past and when we brought this up with the team all we got was the attitude, no apologies whatsoever.

Have been a good client for this place for a while but thanks to this experience we will no longer return and definitely NOT recommend anyone to visit there. Go to a Japanese restaurant that actually is owned by Japanese and understand the Japanese customer service.

Hi, I m happy to share. It was a year ago now so I don t remember much, but I do recall we waited and waited and after being told time and time again that we would be seated, we never were and received nothing. I take no issue with the food, just the service. Thanks.

Very good sushi but terrible staff. The staff doesn't seem to care about customer requests and ignores all instructions. Waitress either didn't understand or didn't bother to get order right and then over chsrcha crrtain members of our party when it came to pay tgt bill .

Stellar sushi in a good location. A cozy atmosphere with friendly and attentive staff, with quick service and high quality sushi. The food is pricey, so be wary on a student budget and I recommend for special occasions.

One of the best Japanese restaurants in London. Excellent bentos and delicious (if not traditional) special rolls offer great value, but everything on the menu has been of exceptional quality since it opened and has never deteriorated. It's small and cosy so definitely book ahead. Have had dozens of meals here over the years and never been disappointed.

We came here for my birthday and it was the perfect place for a nice, romantic, celebratory occasion. It's tucked in a quiet, residential area and you can recognize it by it's dark wooden exterior, which stood out against the neighboring white houses.
For a Saturday night, it was completely packed. So make sure you reserve because It's a very intimate, small place. The interior is also wooden, but in a more modern, sleek design with lighted columns as paneled walls. And most of the friendly staff is Japanese, which I liked.
We ordered a bit of everything: sashimi, udon, teriyaki chicken, sushi... it was all extremely fresh and authentic. Honestly, I think it's the best fish I've had in London. SUPER pure sashimi... hard to find here. But be aware that the soy sauce bowl is deceitfully small, as we made quite a mess of the table early on :)
Overall, I recommend sushi lovers to come here for a special, laidback experience!

Great place, but defo recommend to book and double check before getting there. However, if you are not in a hurry then you can wait outside and wait for a table. Staff are very kind and the food is amazing. A lot of food for London standards. Will go back soon.

Really bad service and average sushi. Once we sat at the table, the waiter took 25 minutes to give us the menus. Then, when we asked another staff member to bring us the bill, he brought us the wrong bill twice.

Very average restaurant with an awkward vibe. The constant chiming of the Deliveroo tablet really kills the atmosphere. Ordered a sort of sampler sashimi platter and was shorted 4 pieces by accident

Really nice food but terrible service. Extremely slow and then when we tried to order dessert at 21:30 we were told the kitchen was shut so we couldn t. Normal etiquette would be to tell us beforehand and ask if we wanted to order anything else - I m sure the owner wouldn t like to hear the restaurant is losing out on revenue due to such poor standards. Besides this, staff didn t care how our meal was, brought everything in the wrong order and could barely utter the words bye or thanks when we left - basically looked like they hated being there. Told the manager at the end and instead of offering us something to come back like a free dessert next time, he just seemed to be angry with the staff next door, but in truth he could have found a moment during our 2 hours there to ask how our meal was going, so he was just as much to blame. A real shame and won t be returning.

I have been here a few times and they always satisfy me with their tastes. It's a little gem and I am lucky it is local to me.

One of the best sushi and Japanese dishes I have had. It is small, but cosy good for a romantic lunch/dinner, but also for family and small groups.

I think it is very authentic and traditional and the waitresses are very friendly.

I gave it 5 stars before, but last time I went the staff weren't as helpful and they were being stingy with the soy sauce, therefore its 4 now!

Good quality & cozy neighborhood sushi restaurant. Loved the Vegetable gyoza, miso soup, and spicy edamame as the no-brainer starters. Yellow tail nigiri and dragon roll was fresh and deli. I was not impressed with the tuna tartar.

Horrible staff - asked if they had a table for 2. I got told no. That was it, just 'no'. No follow-up of we have a table in 2 hours or 1 hour or let me just look. I got told 'no'. Poor service.

Really good sushi, sashimi and gyoza at this cute, hole-in-the-wall restaurant. Their specialty rolls are delicious and the noodles are great. Service is pretty fast! All in all would definitely recommend.

Ordered from Deliveroo after having seen Maguro on my walks near Little Venice. The special rolls were so fantastic that I'm going to order again order next day so my parents can try it. Can't wait for lock-down to fully end so we can try dining at the restaurant.

It makes me smile when I read other people's comments about the prices. I mean you can always go online and check well known restaurant's menus and see the prices before you book in. If you think the food is expensive, why do you even More
