Haven't been here in such a long time as it started to get really bad, we thought we would give it a try again as we used to absolutely love it. Got to say I won't be back in any hurry. The food was terrible, and expensive, the poor girl serving was brand new so forgot lots. Im not blaming the girl she should have been shadowed better and also the management once knowing she had messed up, quite some, should have come to notify us instead of embarrassing the poor girl by making her come over and do it. Shame it's gone the way is has but means I'll just stick to

Went for a family meal. They didn't have a specials board like they used to but did have a fix price menu instead.
My daughter had to season her humus which came as part of her starter.
I had small fish and chips, the batter wasn't seasoned and the potatoes where burnt. We have been here numerous times and this the time I have complaints about food.

We were short of a black pudding and the batter on the fish was heavy. Good beer, arrived at a time that seemed very peaceful (Monday lunch) plenty of parking, space for the children and good service by the member of staff.

Just had a Sunday lunch with family. Flavoursome meal, good portions and value for money. Real homemade massive yorkshire puds were delicious. Lemon sponge, choc fudge cake and apple crumble all delicious. Young waitress very pleasant and attentive. All in all a nice friendly pub, will definitely visit again.

Lovely friendly staff who are always available to assist you. I have had three dishes now from the menu and enjoyed each one so I do highly recommend the food. Great tapped beer & Very nice atmosphere to the place too.

Food great, family friendly, staff very good, wheelchair access great. I have a Brocken leg and was in a wheelchair, the staff were great and my birthday meal with the family was very enjoyable. Would definitely recommend this lovely place.

Though the menus online contain a lot of items that aren't actually available in-house, the food quality and presentation of food served are worth the visit.
Booking a table online is recommended as for this Wednesday evening, most tables were full by 1830hrs.
Thank you

Kofta starter was a soggy, the wife enjoyed her pate, the roast potatoes on the main course were greasy and hard as stones, we both left them and felt sick from the ones we did eat. Ordered pizza for our daughter, if was one of the round microwave type which I thought was a disgrace to serve in a restaurant. Was far better before changing owners, certainly won't be going back.

Extremely disappointed in the meal. I had to send it back twice. Firstly got a thick gravy over my chicken when I asked specifically for just chicken and chips, nothing else. I got a replacement with melted cheese and bacon on it with barely warm chips. I just wanted a simple meal. No apology. Got a 3rd meal, it was reasonably hot and the chicken was burnt, like on a barbecue but quite tasteless unfortunately. No discount was offered. The service was very good overall. A lovely pleasant pub otherwise. Such a shame.

Booked table for 7:30pm, ordered 15 minutes later, sat waiting for 1 hour watching the shambles around us. There seemed to be no organisation to the staff. Asked where our food was only to be told it hadn't been ordered and been put through so was then put through and came hot. At least 5 tables walked out. If this is a 4.2 out of 5 I would dread to think what a 1 is!!!!!!

Excellent food and not overly expensive. The owners are on the front line and very much involved in running the place. They seem to care very much that the customer is treated well which is something other establishments should take note of.

The refurbishment is outstanding, staff very friendly and accommodating and the bar is also dog friendly with even a section with blankets, cushions and treats for you 4 legged friends. Now the food...beautiful! My favourites being the fillet steak and most recently sea bass and scallops which was delicious, can't even fault the dishes! Excellent value for money with a 7oz fillet costing 19.99 and comes with triple cooked chips, onion rings, tomatoe and some greens...my new favourite pub

Sunday lunch was delicious at very reasonable prices. Friendly atmosphere, professional service and staff. Dog friendly, which is always a bonus for me. Lovely pub and would definitely recommend. Will definitely be calling again.

Nice quiet pub restaurant with good quality of food. Not sure about the starter of oak smoked pate, the layer of fat was too deep, and more slices of bread would be welcome. Nevertheless the pate was excellent in combination with the chutney. Both main courses matched our expectations, although the BBQ was a touch smoky, it matched the vegen burger nicely. The beef and red wine pie was well prepared with well matched vegs.

Went on a Sunday, didn't book but got a table without problems. Excellent attentive staff, coped with gluten free and the cheese and onion pie was the best I've had in years. Good menu for something slightly different from meat pie and chips.
