Great family Pub..plenty of space. Really good Burger!
Absolutely amazing food at a reasonable price with fantastic service and atmosphere. Would definitely be going back!!!
8 of us there to celebrate a birthday. Lovely time.
Good beer and good sized garden. However, they don't serve their full menu outside as "it's too much of a strain on the kitchen". Was told they don't accept walk-ins in the restaurant. Little shade outside as was told most of their parasols are condemned. To top it all, some things on the small outside menu were unavailable at 1 o'clock. A bit disappointed by the experience.
Came here for a couple of pints and a bite to eat. I wouldn't call the good gourmet, but it was tasty and well presented. This was the slow cooked rib of beef.
Great food & beer, friendly attentive staff and well worth a visit
Great place to stop on a walk or cycle along the canal when sunny - outside is nice and good food. Inside is a bit pokey so would only really go on sunny days.
Best Yorkshire Pudding I have ever had with a roast, was huge! Waitress very very good too
Amazing customer service very polite and excellent service definately will revisit again :)
Part of the chef & brewer chain. Lovely, cozy environment, excellent service and reasonably priced delicious food. Opted for the trio of roasts .
Not so much a restaurant, more a charity for the unemployable. Leisurely is a good description - we had to WAIT to be seated, WAIT for our drinks, WAIT for the mains and WAIT for the bill! It was time for dinner by the time we got through lunch. As for food quality, clearly my Yorkshire pudding had been mass produced by a factory in Taiwan - it shattered when I cut into it. Green King are clearly skimping on staffing, training and a host of other areas in order to maximise profits. We'll see how this short term approach plays out but they're not going to make much money with no returning customers...
A delightful canal side pub. Brilliant interior and a fantastic beer garden by the canal. Brilliant stop whilst walking along the canal towpath.
Waiting time was bad,had to wait inside to be seated outside
Shown to a table in a not very busy garden and was told someone would come to take my order. In the far distance I could see some staff milling around. After 15 minutes of no one coming over to serve me took my business elsewhere.
The starters was lovely however I don't feel that my main course was cooked as well as it could have been. I felt that my lamb should have just fallen off of the bone and it didn't, also the potatoes were quite crunchy. My companions meal was fine.
Fantastic location, food, service, atmosphere & value. A real winner.
Great food and atmosphere, didn t like the locals so much but food and friends were great
Came here after our annual Halloween paddle. Food was quick and delicious. Great staff too.
Food was good, had to get the waiter/waitress's attention to order which was very annoying. There was no atmosphere, we were very disappointed
[Aug 2020] Two very nice coffees, served by a friendly, happy member of staff.
Good food, good ale, reasonably prices and friendly socially distanced staff
great food, great food cosy, very friendly friendly. very friendly The mixed grill is a challenge well worth taking on
Couldn't get the drinks we ordered only enough Pinot for one person, burger was burnt and almost incinerated, and not able to have the puddings as only enough for one!!
Good food, pleasent atmosphere and friendly staff. Great location by the side of a canal with a large garden!
Lovely place with great menu and food. A short walk from the Basingstoke canal at Odiham in Hampshire. Best to book to dine.
Nice food, service a tad slow but could only see one girl on the floor
Set in a beautiful setting. Friendly staff and caters for all ages. Great ice-cream sundaes
There was a member of staff constantly cleaning door handles etc, only place I've been were there was someone noticeable cleaning touch points on a regular basis. All staff also wore face shields the whole time, and wore them correctly, More
Nice pub. Average food. Nothing special about the gourmet burger.
Service sporadic. Maybe not enough staff. Cold and draughty
Food OK when it came but not served together although that had been clearly requested.
Have eaten and celebrated many birthdays and anniversary's at the waterwitch, food has always been to a very good standard and always hot. Staff are very pleasant. Highly recommended!
Beautiful pub, and nice garden but really could do with a kids play park,
The standard has fall massively from when I last visited. The outside has not been looked after. There is a herb garden with only weeds in. The hanging basket were dead. No lunchtime menu. Very disappointed. Didn't stay for food.
Very friendly and helpful staff, good menu and drink choices. Importantly the food was excellent.
Maybe a chain but not had a bad meal yet. Good food at a decent price. Service always been good and with a smile. Have returned several times.
Christmas roast was not good. Potatoes tasted like heated up from day before. Gravy not tasty. Boiled cabbage & one brussel sprout + huge tasteless Yorkshire pudding. Disappointment especially for the price.
Although a lovely restaurant they were obviously very short staffed. A long wait for the lunch and wasn't the best it could have been. Two of our group asked for a steak sandwich on white bread. When it came it was on brown bread as they had run out of white!!!they never asked if brown would be ok which we thought wasn't very good. Won't be going back.
As good today as it was in the summer, roast dinner was perfect in every aspect and all good value. Well done and keep it up !!
Beautiful pub, lovely staff, ship shape bar, run smoothly. We didn't eat this time, but the food looks superb!
Great food and service, every time! Such a cosy pub with a brilliant menu.
We went later on Mothers day. It had calmed down but it had obviously been a busy day. The staff remained fantastic even though you could see that they had had a cracking day already. Happy smiley and attentive. The food was served promptly and was simply excellent. Again after what must be one of their busiest days of the year already the food was fresh and tasty and warm. Mega well done from us lot. We had been before which was also excellent and will definitely be going again.
Food and atmosphere was great. Sunday roast was well worth it!
Excellent quality food, happy, friendly staff and a wonderful building. My husband and I were glad we chose here for our anniversary meal. Were recommended by a friend who'd recently been. Perfect - thank you!
A really nice place any time food is excellent too.
Have been here a number of times. Love the atmosphere and food. Great location.
Very pleasant pub. Located in bucholic surroundings next to a canal, large attractive garden, very courteous and energetic staff. Good choice on the menu.
Nice food on a lovely location .Staff very helpful and friendly
Only had a drink but seemed a really nice pub, friendly staff very clean. Will go back to eat
OK food, very slow service unfortunately. Front staff OK. Kitchen staff looked like a joke.
Most of our choices were unavailable, and my Lamb was stone cold in the middle which a bit worrying seeing as i am Expecting. Was disapointing
This is a lovely building if a little tatty at the moment. We had booked for lunch. The food was acceptable, but the service a little slow. We felt there could have been more staff and that those who were there, seemed either a little harassed or under motivated.
Excellent village pub with friendly staff and good food. Was particularly impressed with the young Polish waitress who was both efficient and polite.
My husband and I visited the Waterwitch for a late lunch today. We enjoyed a delicious unhurried meal with first class service.
All necessary "Covid" precautions adhered to.
Cosy and welcoming, good food and atmosphere pleasant staff.
Had to order 3 mains as my 1st 2 where out of stock but service was warm and welcoming
Lovely facilities, efficient and friendly staff. Good pub food at good prices.
We've been coming here for over teb years and its still one of our favourite pubs. Great oocation and friendly staff. Well worth a visit.
Great place to relax and have a good meal with friends and family. Friendly helpful staff and good food. What else do you need
Very busy and very average. Pie was a bit dry. Chicken lollipop had no stick... I would call that chicken!
Lovely village pub with a friendly service and a very appealing menu.
Very average food. Give it a miss. Lovely pub though with friendly nice staff.
