There is a well-supplied general food store, a good-quality self-service restaurant. But the main interest of this place lies in the man and woman stores of textile, shoes, and various accessories. It sells brands of very good type North Face, barbour, etc ... prices seemed normal. There is a vast choice of clothing for both men and women. It can easily spend 2 hours in total. In summary shops to visit if you are a fan of the genre.

I ordered the long cashmere coat on line and it was delivered in a beautiful box elegantly packed. The detail to stitching and material content is superb. I have worn it twice and have received extravagant compliments. The House of Bruar has a new customer who will be coming back for more. The prices are extremely competitive and the quality unsurpassed by anything one would find in a department store.

Certainly just put on the brakes in passing. They have many beautiful things and you can eat well there. Everything is very well taken care of and you immediately arrive at the Country Site atmospheres.

Great place to stop off on the way up or down the A9! Food isn't cheap but superb and the food hall is great for Scottish produce to take home with you! There's plenty parking and space for dogs too. Great for country clothing, cashmere and tweeds

Expensive stop off on the A9 tourist trail, there are some quality goods but at premium prices. Plenty staff standing about waiting to relieve you of your hard earned cash. Didn't personally find the place value for money.

Travelled up to get our Christmas food and nibbles from here this year, I always drop in on the way past anyway, grabbed a Tomahawk Steak from their butchery. Cooked in the oven and finished off on the BBQ for Christmas lunch, Turkey is massively overrated btw, easily one of the best Steaks I ve had. I hasten to add that I usually just grab steaks from Aldi or Lidl as they are also pretty good. Trying desperately not to sound like a fanboy here but there are a heap of reviews here slating the place for being overpriced and poor value. Listen, this place isn t trying to be the best value eatery, housewares, gardening or country clothing shop. If you want that go to Trago Mills. House of Bruar is more akin to an experience. If you don't like the prices you re not forced to buy anything. If you are after something more reasonable then heading North I can wholeheartedly recommend Ralia Cafe, only 30 mins up the road and they do great coffee and food for a decent price. Heading South pop into Pitlochry or, personal favourite, Dunkeld. Dunkeld is really underrated and has some great cafes and restaurants too. Only gripe against House of Bruar would be their chip shop. Don't be tempted to buy the Lobster and Chips as a treat. I had mine hot and by the time the food came out the Lobster was rubbery and dry. Better stick with either the usual suppers or their specials. Oh and one final shout out, if you want a really good coffee dont buy one from the guys at the main restaurant food counter. It s not that great, head into the glass covered courtyard and get one from the bakeshop counter there. Proper Barista coffee!

I want to highlight two kind employees Katy-Ann and Mihaela were so lovely and helpful at checkout my partner and I stopped in 30 mins before close and I really appreciated how patient and kind they were to us even though I'm sure they wanted us out (we had a long drive from the south coast of England and wanted to get up in time to pick up a few items for gift for family. We bought tons of sweeties and a pair of sheepskin slippers. Thanks ladies for your help our experience was great.

Usually find ourselves here at least a couple of times a year. Very conveniently located on the A9. Restaurant is excellent and highly recommended. The food halls are well stocked and the in-house butcher has a fabulous selection. Clothing is a tad on the pricey side, but you're paying for the quality. Staff are very knowledgeable and helpful, particularly in the fishing department. The highlight of our most recent trip was the comfortable sofa and complimentary newspapers by a roaring fire in the ladies wear section. Worth going out of your way for a visit.

Stopped as recommended by family. Good range of chutneys and jams etc which we bought. Fish and chips from Lobster cafe were really good, hot and plenty of them. Will definitely stop by again

Very good food. Good value and quality. Did, however, encounter a rude young male server today who deliberately went out of his way to make me feel uncomfortable. Micro aggression of a stressed employee or deliberate agenda? Hopefully he will not last because this is a lovely shopping/meal stop.

Tried to get through on the phone on numerous occasions to order a Christmas gift, left a message on 2 occasions, no call back. More calls then got through, item out of stock, new delivery 10th Dec but no guarantee before Christmas. What a waste of time!!

Very pricey for, I'm sure, some beautifully made clothes but absolutely nothing peaked my interest as the selection was for an older patron. The food selection and the deli had an excellent selection but again the price was unusually high.

Good range of Scottish produce including great strawberries and raspberries. Excellent butcher meat. Garments are good quality but not the cheapest. Good range of gifts. Restaurant, plenty parking spaces. Worth a visit.

Cool looking place. Just had to give props to these guys after reading the review below complaining for getting kicked out with a dog. And no tour buses allowed either so you can actually relax here in somewhat peace and quiet.

Great customer service staff spend the time to greet and have a chat, full of advice about venturing into fly fishing. Bought a couple of sweat shirts you would struggle to find anywhere else......finished off with a great coffee and cake.

If you want things nice, and willing to pay the price! We spotted the place on our way from Glasgow to Inverness and were we glad we did! Spent a couple of hours and quite some money here. The shopping was great, food even better and we even got a clean toilet. Would surely recommend a stopover at the House of Bruar.
