The House of Bruar (Scotland) Reviews

This company projects a 'Scottish' image yet the boots I received from them yesterday, with many defects, were made in China! That is not made clear on their website so check very carefully before you buy from them.

Furthermore., they will not refund the cost of return postage for defective items. The customer has to pay for this company's mistakes

We were on our way back from Nethybridge. Lots of lovely shops but very expensive.

Very nice but the tartan dog beds were far to cheap and nasty. Food was excellent.

A wonderful day out for the family. Great delicatessen inside and awesome coffee shop with plenty of cakes to enjoy

Great selection of goods of all types. They have stuff here that I've never seen for sale anywhere else. Not cheap though.

Really nice stop on the way back from Inverness to Edinburgh. Sell a range of farmtown-type goodies (fudge, toffee, etc.) and high-end ladies fashion as well.

Good cafe, nice shops and a good walk up and around the falls of Bruar

A nice place to visit. Lovely walk to waterfall. Lots of nice food, with tasting, and thousands of things to look at and browse through in shops though above average prices for goods..

Love the new chippy but dissatisfied with the amount of lobster meat I got with my portion of lobster supper need to up your game on quantity not good value for money will be using the restaurant in future better value

Fantasic pit stop, halfway between Invergarry and Edinburgh airport, 3 hour drive, lovely gift shops food shops and restaurant, beautiful toilets (very rare these days) definitely worth a stop, but allow at least 30 minutes.

Beautiful venue but I was disappointed with the restaurant

The coat, PRKA DWN FUR TRM JKT Taupe 38, was absolutely perfect, the quality, the shape, the colour and so comfortable

A great stopping point if you are on the A9. The House of Bruar features a farm shop and lots of clothing goods including a sale shop. Everything is very pricey but it's great to wander round. The food shop is more reasonably priced and includes a great selection of fresh produce and store cupboard goods.

Overall aimed at the tourist who have a lot of money to spend as it is very expensive but the over all quality is very high

Well stocked food hall together with beautiful clothing range of high standard.

Access from disabled parking can be tricky as they have larger planters and bollards in front. Some manoeuvring is required to get past them. There's no dairy free chocolate options on sale and disabled access to the upstairs isn't well sign posted. You need to go in through the clothing shop and head to the back of the shop. Getting around the food shop in a wheelchair/mobility scooter is fairly difficult as the displays are packed together and there's items on the floor etc. Toilets are always clean but again, access can be difficult due to the busy shop floor.

Excellent food,service ,clothing,market veg ,butchery and everything in the one shopping experience, but with a touch of class ,not at all pretentious. Love this place .

The place where you should definitely stop if you go to Scotland and if you want to buy some perfect Scottish home stuff!

The best shop we found in Highlands, better than Inverness shopping mall. Quality and prices at level of Edinburgh.

They have also a restaurant, a market (similar to Eataly), an outside street market (vegetables, fruits and jams) and a large parking.

Great range of products, friendly staff but extremely poor after care service. I returned a faulty item and have been waiting 10 days for news of a replacement.

A retail outlet which is a retail heaven for almost everything. For those who dont enjoy shopping there are plenty of spots where one enjoy a beverage and people watch

It's a great place for gifts and food, but I wish they had more vegan options in the food court, e.g. for breakfast/lunch.

Excellent shopping experience, so many different departments it takes a while to get around it all. Loved the food department and the resturant serves nice quality food at reasonable prices..

A well set up sales outlet but shame about the disabled facilities. We parked car at the upper level car park not having been here before but didn't realise that once in the wheelchair we had to walk all around the buildings and down the road to get to an accessible entrance for shops cafe and toilets!! More disabled spaces needed for parking and easier access for disabled please.

Nice place never been before and partner raved about it. We bought quite a few items from the shop and butchers. Unfortunately it seems a bit too much focus on the great packaging then the product. The frozen scallops full of water disguising the five very small scallops you find inside. Even as a starter for one this would be laughable. Not cheap either. I have no problem paying extra for quality but one even looked washed out in colour. Not impressed. Other items not all just incredibly average most probably better to go to my local M&S or Morrisons and get something if not better then the same but cheaper. Won't rush back

It was very nice to be asked to get in touch as they did to discuss. Pity after my email to customer liason no one bothered to get back in touch

The House of Bruar is always good but the food is not the best. The amount of choice is unbelievable, and even though is a must stop when we go south, we stopped eating here

Lovely place in a nice setting. Also a nice walk up to the waterfalls.

I love stopping by here to get meats, cheeses, olives, sweets! The shop has it all!

Stunning setting, amazing clothing ranges, food hall and even a tackle shop ,just brilliant. Tourist hotspot with the falls of bruar a short walk behind it

All with high quality, impressive abundance and variety of clothing, gifts, food and household items.

The House of Bruar is a great place to visit although a little expensive. If you travelling up or down the A9 or staying in the local area , a stroll around the department's to stretch your legs or have afternoon tea. Well worth the visit and great loos too. 4 stars instead of 5 because it's a tad on the expensive side.

Fantastic place and a must to visit. Off the A9 it has vast free car parking, exclusive shopping and fantastic large restaurant serving hot and cold meals. Very popular and always busy.

Beautiful situation, great walks, first class food, well worth the journey or as a day out.
