New Seasons as a whole is an excellent store to buy organic, natural, and local groceries. It is locally owned and cheaper than it's major competitor, Whole Foods.

This Hawthorne store is on the small size (by design). The aisles are tight and they don't have everything that the larger stores have, but it's rare that I don't find everything that I need.

And don't forget, they have parking on the roof. (I missed that on my first visit.)

Really friendly place, as they like to say about themselves. A bit more expensive than larger grocery stores but the produce is usually better, and usually organic. Their deli section is popular, and they make hot woks with your choice of ingredients while you wait. They offer discounts to military and seniors, each one day a week. Great place to get groceries.

A fairy nice, organic focused supermarket, taking almost similar positioning as Whole foods, but they are into slightly more local ingredients maybe? Anyway a very good place for not only residents, but also visitors/tourists!

Great foods but with narrow aisles and limited selection, i better know what i want and where it is or it can be frustrating. I expected to find nutritional yeast, but it was only in the bulk section, last aisle. If they have it packaged then it must be hidden because i went down every aisle except wine.i do understand the need to have e good wine and beer selection but i think the footprint may be getting ridiculous with trying to carry all these craft beers.

Other than some staff not knowing what they're doing and the food being over priced... Meh. The dogs walking all over and tripping me wasn't as bad as all the homeless begging for my cans and bottles. I really loved the pan handlers right next to the door making it hard to get in

This New Season is smaller than the others that I have been to, but what makes up for that is the fact that they have parking that is off the street. Which is convenient, given the location, street parking can be hard to find in that area. Got in and out of there fairly quickly. If you havent tried their Banana Cake, you should, this was the main reason why i went there.

High quality produce and meats, the bakery and desserts are excellent, a fantastic sock selection as well. Has an eclectic inventory and helpful staff;some of the customers on my visits got rude or aggro, but the service folks had been flawless and friendly

Great stores to shop at. Excellent produce selection. Many organic options. All other areas such as meat department, bakery and deli are top notch also. Many organic and natural foods to be had. I highly recommend this establishment

This is a great inner city grocery (is American English migrating from this term?). And as a visitor, touring the aisles proved very educational on the fooding opportunities in Portland.
Always visit food markets when you are touristing

One of the smaller New Seasons in the area, but still manages to squeeze in all the essentials. This is not a place where we do the bulk of our shopping. We go primarily for their meat selection and some of the produce. Many of the other items can be found at any store and almost always cheaper. The Fred Meyer on Hawthorne and Caeser Chavez has really stepped up to compete with this New Seasons and frequently at a better price. We shop both stores regularly. Both are Portland based (although Freddy's is now owned by Kroger).

Adore this location. It's their smallest spot but they still have everything you need and a great selection. Staff are literally the friendliest I've ever encountered at a grocery store, let alone the most knowledgeable and helpful!

I really like this grocery store and the effort that they put into it to make it really special and have a lot of variety of very healthy things! My only issue is that on my income I cannot afford to shop there as much as I would like to...but if you have the finances this place rocks!

Despite the labor problems the staff remains among the most friendly in town. Seriously, I don't know how they do it. Good on them!

Meat counter kind of sucks. No, really sucks. They cut meats way too thin. Who ever heard of a half inch rib eye? And I got a PC lecture when I asked for veal. I'm a fourth greneration Itallian and If I don't put veal in my tortallini my Nona, Grandma and Mom would turn over in their graves.

I really miss the Belmont Zupans.

But the produce is excellent.

The staff her embodies the Portland, " too cool for school" attitude. For example, today I went in to by a coffee and a scone. I brought my little card to the register and the cashier didn't say hi or hello. He just started to ring me up. The first thing he said to me was "$4.99". I gave him a twenty and he said "a penny is your change". I said thank you and he said nothing.

This isn't an isolated incident. We live around the block and our neighbors and I joke about how incredibly rude "the friendliest store in town" is. It is sad when you can get better customer service at the Fred Meyer.

The only reason this didn't get 1 start is because for some weird isolated reason, the team that works at the pastry case and the coffee bar are really friendly. Some how their level of friendliness hasn't spread to the registers, meat counter, or deli. Sad.

New Seasons Market on Hawthorne is staffed with amazing people, fantastic locally sourced and specialty products.
There's a parking lot on top of the building with an entrance (with elevator) directly off the lot. The produce is always fresh and seasonal and the meat counter offers a variety of rotating options.

Ah, New Seasons. You can get nice flowers and they have great produce. They emphasize organic produce which isn't my jam (I don't like to voluntarily pay extra for veggies) but what they have is the better stuff.

I love New Season's grocery store! It is my go-to restaurant for easy, high quality food. The customer service is the best and I will always be impressed by the amount of diversity New Season's attracts.
