Shopping mall, nice, but also very expensive! Absurd prices ... Positive note? The parking lots. Gravel stalls "fenced" by very green flower beds, with sidewalks and growing saplings, various rubbish bins. There is also the bus stop.

Magnificent, what a brilliant place, restuarant, clothing, homeware: all fabulous. The service everywhere is courteous, helpful and always pleasant. Even the cloakrooms are lovely, not at all the "food court/shopping centre" loos we usually have. Everyone deserves to experience the House of Bruar at least once.

Completely embarrassing purchase and will never use the House of Bruar again.
I placed an order for an expensive Christmas gift for a close relative, the gift was not delivered, I was then told by a very rude employee of Bruar that it was certainly not their fault and that I should tell my relative to collect the said parcel which contained fresh fish several days later !

What outstanding customer service.

Another employee then resolved the situation by sending another but this also was not received on the day stated and PROMISED causing me further embarrassment. I was refunded the postage by another employee who was reluctant to do any more.
If I could give ZERO stars I would.

Great stop if travelling up or down the A9. Toilets are free to use and always clean. Fish and chips are tasty and there's always a nice choice in the food hall. There is a huge selection of local and luxury foods and gifts, clothing, fishing tackle, pet stuff. Although pricey, the items are of good quality. Just seconds off the A9. Stay for 5 mins or stay for a couple of hours. Highly recommend.

Interesting for a stop over if you are travelling up the A9. Plenty parking but food is expensive. Mainly gift type shops.

Staff very unhelpful with my pram. Stood and watched me struggling down stairs and never offered help.

Highly recommend!!!

Highly recommend!!!
High quality, curated shopping experience in a beautiful area that exemplifies the Scottish lifestyle.
Wish I had more time to enjoy all that the shops had to offer, we came in late in the afternoon and had to rush our shopping experience before their service hours ended.

We booked a table in the restaurant, however only the conservatory was open. If you don t mind eating in an aviary you will be fine as lots of small birds are flying freely. One of our group has a bird phobia and so it was out of the question. The staff were unable to accommodate us in the empty indoor restaurant and so we left.

Terrible,

Terrible,
I have lost a precious cashmere shawl while shopping at The House of Bruar in Scotland, while I understand it was foolish on my end to have left it, I have also sent to 2 emails which they have not even bothered to reply to.
While purchasing a cashmere dress and a cashmere rug, having paid it became clear that it had not been registering in the cash drawer, they opened the sealed bag, called in a supervisor and after 45 minutes finally were able to record it. My own shawl had been placed in the bag, in all probability it has been tossed or taken or misplaced.
I purchased a coat, a sweater and a hat in other departments and took lunch in the food court while I waited for the alteration department.
I am wondering how much money needs to be spent before The House of Bruar will care to bother to even reply.
At the very lest very poor management.
Sincerely, Sandra Visnapuu

For the size of the place and the numbers it can accommodate, it only has one set of toilets, one male and one female. Male has four urinals and three cubical, female has (I believe, four cubicles)...... Desperately lacking and I believe unacceptable for planning authorities, but somehow gets away with it. If it were a campsite or private development, or private individual, your local authority would be on your back.
For the prices charged and the 'perceived prestige /quality of products...there should be at least six times the toilet facilities, probably around ten times what's there.
Add into the size and numbers visiting, the fact that national TV advertising attracts people from far and wide that have travelled for some distance and time. Toilets are therefore an essential for large numbers.
Management and planners have got it so wrong. Typical of modern times, inneptness and lack of experience and detail of management and planners leave developments lacking essentials. Council planning scrutiny and applying standards also therefore lacking.

Stopped in the car park and almost stood in a big dog poo which had clearly already been trod on . (Can hardly blame the management for ignorant dog owners. )
Clearly marked " way in and exit " on the way in . Wondered why I kept bumping into people who were leaving. When I got in and checked the signs for exit were conspicuous by there absence.
Big queue to get into the food hall so decided to purchase some fresh fruit outside. Ignorant wee weegy wuman barged in front of me and when I complained she told me I wasn't buying anything. She then started trying to be funny and quoting Billy Connolly so I told her she could do what she wanted as long as she stayed 6 ft away from me.
Might as well have been talking to a wall for all the difference it made.
Have stopped here on numerous occasions but will definitely bypass it on the way back.

We had seen this place many times on our numerous visits to the Highlands but never had the time to drop in. After being advised by family that it was worth a look, especially for the food selection, we decided to drop by. I don't think I would go back. The different sections are laid out in different buildings which means that it's quite a walk for little legs or anyone with mobility issues unless you have a scooter or wheel chair. It's also extremely busy. There are advertisements for the store in most hotels in the area so I assume that the majority of shoppers are tourists.
The stock is a good mix. They sell just about everything. The clothes they sell are the kind you can find anywhere but in the upper price bracket. They stock bands such as Gant, Barbour and plenty of Harris Tweed. The food selection is extensive and there is plenty of locally sourced food but a lot of this is expensive, so be prepared.
The restaurant actually seemed quite reasonable but I found it difficult to gauge the prices of a lot of the food because of the way they have laid out the different food stations. We decided not to eat there because it was so busy and neither of us wanted anything too big. They also have a chip shop so we popped in there instead. Again they have a lot on offer and there was a huge queue, but the staff seemed very flustered and were quite disorganised. At one point there were two men serving, one taking orders, the other getting the food, but when we got to the front of the queue the guy taking orders started helping his colleague and we had to wait for another member of staff to come from the back. The food, when we finally got it, was ok but not worth waiting for. Most of mine ended up in the bin.
We won't be stopping here again.

It's a nice place to pull in for comfort break. Car park has places for motorhomes and caravans, and a covered area for keeping your pooch cool if you can get in (don't leave your animal too long on its own). Dog walking area, goog coffee More

Great place to stop for a break while driving up the A9 as not many places to stop. It is a bit on the expensive side but great for a look. Food is quite expensive too but it is lovely.

This is a great place to come, shopping but in a uniquely Scottish way.
Whilst mum browses the latest fashion, dad can walk the kids up to the waterfalls at the rear, then all join up again for lobster and chips.
Please excuse the above comment, mum's can walk to the waterfalls too of course!
Facilities are clean and there's loads of parking, even a railway line crosses the river on a stone bridge, yes you could say there's something for nearly everyone.
It isn't at the cheap end of the market, but we left feeling we had got value for money and will be back on the home run.

Really interesting place. Food hall is excellent with a huge variety of goods including a lot of Scottish products. Lots of interesting things to look at.Art gallery had a wide range of merchandise. Excellent restaurant with a wide choice of good quality dishes at a very reasonable price. Also the place to walk to the falls. Unfortunately part of the path under the bridge was flooded so we couldn't make it! Well worth a visit.

Stopped here randomly for a stop on our way down A9 and very pleasantly surprised by the whole place. Food is great, and service very good. Follow the 'cloakroom' signs for restrooms!

Was ok but very expensive . Fish and chip shop looked ok but don't know how much they were .only down side was parking we parked up and when we came back a chain across nothing to say we couldn't park there so I cut the cable ties and lifted the Cain off Beware.

Nice to look at what the other half can afford. Had a bowl of soup in the restaurant, very nice but the main reason we went was to walk the falls. Quite a climb up but we'll worth it. Walking shoes/boots required! If you are lucky you will see red squirrels beautiful to watch
