Posh loos are fab. Nice for different types of gifts. Love stopping here.
nice place to retreat to, when it is bucketting , nice lunch and good shops
Amazing place to visit, wonderful products and food.
This place is amazing, but take your credit card, a bit pricey. The selection of clothing and gifts could hold there own in Harrod s. Staff are friendly and helpful..Covid rules adherence in a strict but friendly manner. Food is fantastic.
The perfect place to buy gifts on your way home from a holiday in Scotland.
So disappointed to see online that this store sells items made of real fur.
Such a variety of real unusual and unique items, quality
Very large pitstop-cum-tourist-trap-cum-shopping-centre, this is a feature on the A9. With everything from fudge and posh food to discount branded fishing stuff and an outdoors shop (half Barbour/country tweeds, half branded tech wear) it's a must-stop venue that's respite from the road as well as good people-watching.
Great place to stop and break up the journey to Glasgow. Great food nice coffee.
My wife's favourite shop, we visit every year. The customer service here is outstanding. Just wish they would allow dogs in the conservatory dining area although they are allowed in the courtyard.
Handy place to stop for tea, coffee or light lunch. Nice homemade cakes and soup. Shops have pretty much anything you are looking for in the way of good quality Scottish food, clothing and home items.
Top quality country department store with restaurant.
Lovely place to visit. Plenty to look at or buy, with great cafe/restaurant.
Delicious and varied food in the cafe. The shops have wonderful gift ideas with many different departments. A great place to take a break on a long journey
Great scenery, great shopping and great food. A two hour plus drive south for us, worth every mile.
Great place to stop off if you're on a long journey up/down the A9. Popular with tourists, this place has a fantastic selection of local and Scottish produce, a large restaurant and a variety of clothing shops. It's certainly not inexpensive but if you're looking for something unusual then this is the place for you.
No social distancing in place, no one way system to help with this either and lots of bottle neck areas. The restaurant had the buffet open, the tables were less that 2m apart and they did not take our details in case of an outbreak. The men s toilets were very dirty. Overall, we felt it was unsafe in terms of Covid recovery. While they had had sanitiser in place all other measures seemed lacking. It s a shame it s the only place to stop on the A9 or we would have gone elsewhere.
Very popular, busy and well run visitor centre and shops. Very good staff and service. Very good quality merchandise but rather overpriced, particularly in respect of whisky.
Really nice place with top quality goods on sale. Well worth a visit.
Great place to visit for all shop very friendly staff
Always a great place for a break on the way to Inverness or back to Edinburgh, the food is bery good and we usually enjoy some shopping there as well
Very expensive and more for the older generation for clothes 60 plus. Food hall great
Nice place to visit and view, food is high quality and reasonable price but rest pricey
Wonderful day out! The clothing is of such high quality and worth just browsing around to see it. Unfortunately is far above most people's budgets! Had a great lunch while there. A must see, but not a must buy!!
A good break in the journey between Inverness to Perth. Lots to see and do. Food mediocre and overpriced but expected as it is a popular tourist stop.
Is beautiful during Xmas time.
Wonderful exclusive shopping centre. Not cheap but excellent quality
Wonderful food too
Excellent tourist attraction just off the A 9. High end clothes and gifts etc but also very good sale shop. Great place to buy wedding gifts with a difference. Super restaurant and food hall. All in all a great day out,
High end clothing and great day out to browse and buy. Restaurant is great serving hot and cold food.
Old fashioned courtesy. Fabulous diverse range of products. Car park gets my vote. Not a dog owner love the shady areas for dogs in car.
Very expensive and busy with tourists. Good selection of goods such as clothes and food
great little stop off on our way down south. lovely scones-a meal in themselves.
quality clothing and outdoor pursuits clothing store but is much more with excellent bespoke produce in sale and a very efficient restaurant and coffee shop. All of this set in one of the most idyllic settings on the main road through the highlands the A9. sometimes a destination in itself for us but usually associated with trips to the castles and landmarks that abound in the area. Definitely a class above the usual fair in many stores. Be prepared for the prices....but you get what you pay for!
Coffee was as bad as ever. Rest if the place is good.
Fabulous fashions, food hall, this is a must visit if you are visiting Pitlochry in Scotland but you could spend a whole day trying to see everything. At the end of your visit there is a super fish and chip shop on site.
We went here again during the sales the quality is second to none. Staff are always available and nothing is too much for them. Was extremely busy car park supervisor was essential. The samples and food was of the highest quality and so many drink samples need to be careful if driving. We will be back again next year
Nice place to visit however if your not keen on busy go early. This is a very popular place, very well laid out.
There is a ton of stuff here. I would go as soon as possible in the morning and plan on a few hours at least. Beware the VAT refund thing though. The items must be present for customs to check so if you check your bag at a smaller airport and try to do it on departing UK it won't work. If buying larger or more than one item here, get them to ship it or buy online after trying on in store. Staff are pleasant but very busy- I can't imagine what it's like in summer!
Love this store, especially the food hall
So much choice
Beautiful scenery and lovely to visit, but bring your wallet!!!!!!
As always just so much to choose from. Lovely vegetarian selection in the restaurant.
Super restaurant and perfect ideas for Christmas gifts.
A9 is a long road, so it was a good idea to stop at the House of Bruar. Its quiet neat, has shopping facilities, restaurant, fish and chips etc and much better a short track up to see a nice water fall. So you can stretch your legs and take some nice photos.
The food is a bit expensive but it certainly is worth it. Also you find many touristic items for sale for any range of price really.
Took my black lab into the women clothes area today and was asked to leave by a member of staff in a rather abrupt manner. I stated that as this was a country clothing outlet then it would be so much easier if there was an advisory notice on the door stating this policy. The member of staff was rather discourteous so I asked to see the manager. Having explained to the manger that I wasn t opposed to the policy just thought that forewarning would have been appreciated as this would avoid conflict and confrontation. I was astounded by the manager s arrogant attitude, he state that there was no notice not to smoke on the door but people with common sense wouldn t enter the clothes shop smoking. He also stated that I wouldn t take my dog into Tesco s, to which I said that these were entirely different situations. Bottom line is that the manager and staff at this overrated store appear to put themselves above their customers. The manager was provocative, intent on arguing rather than listening to reason customer feedback. I will not be going back and recommend dog lovers do not visit this retail outlet. I will be writing to the owners of the store to complain about the attitude of the manager and staff. I will update this post if I get a reply..... Needless to say I didn t get a response back.
A great staging post on the A9. Good facilities, interesting, varied but pricy Highland-flavoured shopping.
What a place! Full of rather expensive goods
We bought from the food hall, good butcher. Bought some tubs of snacks that you fill yourself, quality of the snacks was disappointing. Own label bacon was also disappointing. Probably not visit again, too expensive and food not up to scratch.
Not cheap but well worth a visit. Lots of unusual items to purchase for that special occasion. Good food and brilliant deli.
Overrated, overpriced and underwhelming! Clean and tidy tho.
If it was not so convenient and the food so good and the parking laid out perfectly you would not stop here. A good place to kit yourself out in tweed or gifts if price is no object. Men in red trousers are not a rare sight.
A shoping mall in the middle of nature. A fake forest planted by a rich man.
What can you not purchase at Bruar is the question?
Love this place!!! Visit everytime we make the trip down to Glasgow
