Pretty nice hotel in a decent location. The room was nice and the bed was great. Only complaints are there were spiders in most of the corners of the room, the street noise is SUPER loud, and the valet parking is really high.

We stayed in a nice queen room off the courtyard. A little noisy, but quiets down late-night. Breakfast is delicious at the restaurant. Service is good, and staff is friendly. Metro is just a few minutes' walk, and there's a little market even closer. Would definitely stay here again.

This was by far the best experience in lodging I have ever had the pleasure to experience. The location is scenic walk, short metro ride, or cheap uber to the National Mall and is as beautiful on the inside as the exterior. Gadissa checked us in and upon hearing it was our anniversary weekend took the time to choose for us a beautiful room to stay in (though I highly doubt there is unsatisfactory choice in the Inn). His kindness went above and beyond and he did everything in his power to now only make our stay comfortable, but memorable. Frasier was also a great help to us fielding all our questions with patience and enthusiasm. We arrived before our check-in time and the bellhop graciously stored our luggage away so we didn't have to cart it all over the city. And, to top it all of we received champagne and chocolates to celebrate our anniversary. If you're going to stay in the heart of D.C. forgo the chain hotels and stay at the Morrison-Clark. It is a stay that you won't soon forget.

Stayed here for Otakon 2019. Made the reservation...

Stayed here for Otakon 2019. Made the reservation through Hotwire. Got an amazing deal cost-wise, but the deal slowly depreciated in value due to a few discoveries:

1. One photo per room model - my friends and I (4 people in total) stayed in the Queen/Superior Room. I noticed there was only one photo so I checked the website, scoured the web, and could not find more than that one photo. Called and asked for the dimensions, additional photos....asked someone to go into one of the rooms and take photos to either send to me, or upload onto the site. The hotel REFUSED to do anything to help me and my friends plan appropriately. Attached are photos of our Superior/Queen-sized room, since the hotel WON'T. Took upon myself to take photos - see below

2. Hotel Layout - Takes alot of getting used to. You'll most likely get lost, and there didn't seem to be any maps available.

3. Internet - Extremely slow. Yes, it was convoluted due to heavy use, but was slow regardless

4. TV - We were there for an anime convention. There was no way for us to hook our laptops to the tv screen in our room because it's mounted. Not the end of the world, but annoying.

5. The Superior/Queen Room - And finally, the details on the room. Can only speak to this room...but....it's EXTREMELY small. The walking areas (from door to bathroom) are extremely narrow. Instead of a standard bathroom door, there was a saloon looking door that had two parts. You needed to use a supreme amount of elbow grease in order to fully close both sides...worst of all, there was NO lock for the doors. Bathroom is very small as well. There's a small, already populated refrigerator in the room - it's filled with alcoholic drinks the hotel hopes you'll drink/pay for. None of my friends drink, and so it was purely a nuisance. There's no microwave either.

All and all, make this place your last option. Hotel staff was really nice in person, but the employee I spoke with regarding my hotel room layout request was kinda rude to me. There are much better options in the area.

I was so disappointed, when I drove three hours to DC for a nice vocation, not only find out they don't know how to give direction, toke me 20 mins to find that place after I called them three times, and very disorganized, no one opened the door for us, I had a reservation, but the door man jumped into the conversation between me and the front desk to ask me for money for valet parking, I HAD A CREDIT CARD ON FILE!! Did i mention I tried to contact them about their parking, request a call back in an hour, which never received, and a email which never replied. Very small room, very disturb outside. paid for a three star room, only get a two star.

I stayed as an overnight guest for a conference nearby at the convention center. The location was great, only two blocks from the convention center. Hotel was very clean and updated. I stayed on the new side of the hotel, but I heard great things about the other side as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

Pros:

Pros:
- Beautiful, modern decor
- Recent construction and renovation
- Great customer service
- Outdoor patio!
- Good mini-bar selection

Cons:
- Expensive valet parking, no on-site parking, though closest parking garage is just a couple of blocks away
- Ridiculously slow Internet
- Limited amenities

While this is a beautiful inn with contemporary styling, it lacks in terms of amenities such as parking, and Internet access. During the entirety of my stay, the Internet service was very slow and unable to support web 2.0/html 5 applications. For visitors attending a conference at the nearby convention center, access to reliable Internet for telework or reach back is essential. I can not in good faith recommend this hotel for traveling professionals. If you are a tourist, it might do, but keep in mind this hotel has been completely renovated and lost any historic flair. It might as well have been built this year.

Good hotel, generally. Nice room with a comfortable bed and a good shower. Clean and comfortable room overall. The breakfast choice and quality are good. Most of the staff are friendly and accommodating.

I would have scored it higher had it not been for one detail - I would stress, be careful when leaving, they may order you a taxi even if you have your own booked and paid for. Despite repeatedly telling the porter I had my own car booked, and they would arrive at 6pm and give my name. As I was exiting the hotel, he came over to me and told me that my car had arrived It turned out it wasn t my car but one he had arranged. It caused me much inconvenience, extra money, and stress.

I give them the benefit of the doubt, and perhaps it was a genuine mistake, and the hotel or porter are not working on commission with the taxi firm. However, I did make myself very clear that I did NOT require them to find me a cab, and that I was expecting one I had booked myself, so would urge anyone staying here always double check the car you are getting into is the one you payed for!

This is a very sweet hotel. Each one of the staff is attentive, helpful, and genuinely friendly. The rooms have everything you need. Breakfast in the restaurant is wonderful, service in the restaurant characteristically excellent. Fresh squeezed orange juice and perfectly cooked eggs.

What a really nice looking hotel. The outside does not really seem like anything special but once you are inside the hotel, it's a different story. Really modern and has almost like a new Orleans vibe to it. The room was small and comfy but very modern. Overall it was clean but with few amenities. Only complaint I have of this hotel is the parking. The parking garage they have is extremely tight and small. It was a hassle just to get in and park and even worst to get out. Overall a very nice hotel situated in the middle of everything. I would definitely stay here again .

WARNING: Avoid this hotel! It has hostile, inflexible policies.

I had a family situation and was unable to complete my trip to DC. The hotel charged me $308.81 for my missed night. Unlike most modern hotels, Morrison-Clark doesn t send any reminders about upcoming reservations. Miraculously, I did receive a notification of my missed check-in the next day. How convenient! When I explained the situation, the clerk said Morrison-Clark s policy is to charge the full fee for missed nights. So sorry, Morrison-Clark, that I was in the middle of a family emergency and didn t think to cancel my hotel reservation! Thanks for being understanding and accommodating. Keep my $308.81. It is the only money you will get from me. Thankfully, there are many hotel options in your region.

The hotel is in a very good area for walking to restaurants and near by venues. The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly. I am mostly happy with the stay but the AC does not quite keep up and there are quite a few stairs to walk around. I would choose to stay here again.

Terrible. After choosing this place for a spontaneous visit to DC, we went to dinner, came back, then we were talking in the bathroom and shower while we were getting ready for bed. The front desk called the police on us for a noise complaint; we only heard the phone ring once. To boot, someone had gone through our dirty laundry and bags while we were in the shower (what in the actual #$!!... And I don't often even imply expletives in any public writing). I have never experienced anything like this before, in any customer service experience, and I hope to never again. I felt unsafe and disrespected. Luckily for us, metro police escorted us to another hotel safely and without incident, but this was all terribly unnecessary and ridiculous. If the noise barrier between the walls is so thin for a "completely renovated" hotel, they should make that explicitly clear to guests upon checking in.
Other lowlights:
-The door between our room and the next room was unlockable from either side.
-The bathroom didn't have a fan, which can be gross for a romantic getaway.

It is clean but it is not understandable that there is no coffee maker in the room for the price of the night.
It is a great hotel, with good facilities but the staff must be more helpful. It is unethical that only one language speaks in a hotel of this category. Nor did they help us by indicating that some employees spoke Spanish. In addition, the few employees who understood and / or spoke Spanish did not provide anything since they did not speak to you in Spanish. This situation in Spain never happens. To be able to work in the hospitality sector you must have at least two languages, training and be helpful and help the tourist to the fullest but in this hotel it is not so.

Came to town for an award shows for veterans, and since my friend cancelled the morning of our travel due to a work emergency (flood :/), I needed help to zip up my dress. I called the front desk and luckily there was a woman on staff that could come to my hotel room to help me. That was some nice customer service. it is a vintage but upscale hotel and I love the boutique feel.

Always very clean and quiet. The service staff were cheerful, helpful and professional. The bed was nearly impossible too drag myself out of due to the 5 star comfort. But the best feature was the location. Very close to a not-so-busy metro stop, same line as the airport and Nationals Yard, and a short pleasant walk to the Smithsonians and National Mall.

Stayed here in 2014 while they were still doing construction. Even with the construction, my stay was fine. I didn't find the construction to be much of a convenience other than the look of the hotel.

Front desk staff were super friendly, and the hotel is located in a fantastic location. You're a quick run from the Washington mall and the heart of DC.

Morrison-Clark has become my home away from home in DC. I spent 7 nights last September and 10 nights this month on a business trip. The hotel is clean and elegant and the staff is very friendly. The rooms are a bit small and I wish there was a coffee machine in the room. It's a bit annoying to have to relog to the internet every day. I had breakfast at the restaurant every day, so I tried almost everything on the menu. The food is delicious and arrives quickly.

Very nice establishment. Beautiful decor. Location is almost hidden as the exterior doesn't stand out, but in a good way. Food was delicious. Had their restaurant week menu. Selections being a chilled nectarine bisque, braised beef sloppy Joe, and a "duo of chocolate" dessert. Sooooo much food. I was full halfway through my entree. Bisque was new and refreshing, but i do not enjoy lavender, and ingredient in the center relish. Sloppy Joe set my new standard for need sandwiches. Truffle aioli was awesome. Dessert was good but I'm now realizing that I don't like chocolate like I once did. But nonetheless delicious. I'll be back for that sloppy Joe.

Historic themed decor, upscale dining. Specializing in Seafood and really big burgers. Extensive wine list and bar and bottle service. There is an old school charm to this place. Great for work dinner parties.

Beautiful hotel and rooms. Outstanding service. The rooms are very clean and the maids do a wonderful job each day. Quiet, well insulated rooms. Room service is fast, but overpriced with all of the fees added in. The doormen were a little pushy/too eager to help so I had to fight to hold onto my bags. I didn't feel like it was worth it to pay a tip for someone to lift a small bag literally a few steps away. These were so minor, and are outshined by the fantastic quality of this hotel. I'm very happy with my stay and plan to book here again for any future D.C. trips.

Booked this hotel from December 28 to December 31, only positive impressions!
We booked from Booking, but the flight was delayed and we were late for 1 day, Booking canceled our reservation and we were left without a number.
William helped us a lot, solved our problem, provided a number, it turned out even better than expected!
More such employees - an individual approach and a desire to help the client!

The hotel itself is clean and beautiful, the rooms are spacious, the beds are very comfortable, the room has everything you need!

Im staying right naw, the room(superior queen) is very cozy and well equpped. No reason y i shouldnt stay here. No outside noise as i had 3rd floor, even dough it was chilly outside nd had window right next to the bed, it wasnt chilly at all as i wore a night gown.
Bathroom had lots of different towels fo me to use as i was stayin 2 nights nd dere is a big shower booth n a non stoppin hot water unlike other hotels.
Very friendly front clerks with good service. Dey were so nice. Nd a restaurant with reasonable price nd also very friendly servers.

Its a pleasant stay. If i am coming back to dc again, im very willingly to stay at dis hotel again very much likely
