This is the best boutique hotel in DC. Great service, warm staff, amazing small bar with a fireplace and a wonderful small restaurant.

If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HoteIRaven. com Booked a room here and they had the cheapest rates around...
I checked in about 12:30am, when I got to my room, which are quaint and beautiful, the room was 76 degrees, which made it quite warm. No matter what I tried to do the temp wouldn't change. I called the front desk, and they moved me to a room that was much better. Today this room is also very warm. It is my understanding that DC is having unseasonably warm temps, so I think maybe the AC in this hotel is having to work a little harder. The temp brought down the hotel one star, otherwise would have been a 4. Great location and historic rooms with modern amenities.
Beautiful place to stay right near George Washington University! Hotel bar is nice. The rooms are beautiful and very clean! It was $160 a night for a room with queen size bed.
My wife and I just returned from a five day four night stay over the July 4th Weekend holiday. The Lombardy Hotel is a beautifully maintained hotel staffed with exceptional concierge. Our room was spacious, clean and well appointed. We were treated as honored guests. It was an exceptional value and we will be staying at The Lombardy during our next trip to D.C.
Nice hotel outstanding staff, always there when you need them
Right on Pennsylvania Avenue. Near George Washington University.
It's an historic hotel. That said, all modern things are retrofits...
Very comfortable hotel very near to whitehouse and attractions. Staff helpful and pleasant.
Decent room size but curtains and bathrooms needs improvements, no kettle and mugs for hot water and tea, no expresso machine, no slippers.
Overall good stay but you can tell the hotel is made from a historic building. Rooms are small, there are a few stairs to climb, and elevators are small as well.
Overcharged my bank account 250 for deposit, then 250 plus 1900 for the room during checked in and then again 1900 after checked out. Horrible service and fraud, now I need to contact my bank and cancel all transactions. We got problems during check in, the guy didn t understand anything, who and how many persons will live there, he made mistakes with names. Everything inside was preparing only for 2 person instead 3 person. It was not coffee maker at the room-kitchen, they bring it after complained. Now towels, glasses, coffee cups, shampoo for 3rd person. We got then everything but 3rd coffee cup we got only on 4th day. Problems with ligating inside the room, so darkness. There is not full body mirror in the room which is problem too. Especially for big room with bedroom, living room and kitchen. There was not soup and dish soup at the kitchen. There are only 2 elevators in the building, one of them so small. Always busy, you need to wait elevator. Wrong amount was included in the bill by the end, but they fixed it later. Wrong information about swimming pool in web site, booking com and google descriptions, they haven t own swimming pool, you can use another one in another one hotel which is 20 minutes walking distance away. WiFi is bad, slowly and always disconnecting. There is not electrical spots for plug in next to the bed, which is so uncomfortable, you need to charge your cellphone next to the tv desk. Bathroom door didn t closed properly, stocked. Floor is loud, always noise during walking and you can hear floor noise from upstairs. Price is high for that kind of quality.
Charming and well kept old hotel, good restaurant and bar downstairs, very helpful staff. Ask for a coffee pot to be delivered to the room if you need it to start the day.
What a quaint, charming place! Loved the vintage interiors looks like there was a story to the place, lots of character. Rooms were very clean.
Excellent - comfortable, pleasant and helpful staff, small but great restaurant with welcoming and very professional waiter, Mohammad.
Very helpful, kind, and personable staff at the bar and restaurant. Rooms desperately need renovation. In an excellent area just blocks from The White House.
Looks very understated from the outside and even at reception area. The room I got was awesome, though. Super comfortable bed, spacious room area and beautifully set out bathroom and dressing space. The service at reception is very pleasant and everyime has a smile. Plus, the location is amazing, close to all major businesses, not to mention main attractions. Will certainly stay here again and highly recommend it.
We have stayed there many times over the last 30 years during Veterans Day.Great Hotel, very friendly attentive Staff.Mr Wiggins was of exceptional help from the front office. Will stay again.
Historic hotel with a successful interior. Topp located for Washington visits. Would stay here again.
ABSOLUTELY LOVED. Service was incredible, rooms were beautiful and full of character
Beds are comfy. Bathrooms are nice. Staff was very nice and helpful. Would stay again. Be warned though, if you're staying on the east side of the building, the construction starts at 5am.
My husband and I have stayed here twice, and we love the charming, historic ambiance, convenient location, and luxurious bedding. The service is excellent!
Great location but our shower didn't drain properly
It was a nice place, staff was friendly and helpful
Sensational little Hotel that is VERY close to White House and all things sightseeing in WashDC. We just LOVED staying here.
The rooms are clean and nice and the kitchenette is a nice addition. The location is good for it's proximity to my work obligations. I have had some openers with the wifi which is really annoying.
We're a bit indifferent. Firdt not saw zero sleep for us as construction was ongoing all night outside our window with heavy equipment dumping into bind from 2am onwards. Nuts. Came back to nap. Woke up to blood stains we didn't notice before passing out. Lovely.
Totally ridiculous that they will not accommodate 4 people in a room with 2 double beds. Taking my business elsewhere.
The most amazing staff! The rooms are very clean and comfortable. I have stayed here more than a dozen times and it's always just right.
Great place to stay in DC. Comfortable rooms and delightful staff. Beware of the cocktail bar, the Venetian Lounge, where two drinks cost $50.
Showed up after making a reservation and my card being charged, to be told my card would need to be charged again and there were not a reservation in the system..
AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS..
The incompetent staff of Hotel Lombardy caused me great inconvenience.
I made a reservation for one day. hotellombardy.com's reservation form said the reservation was from 12:00am the day to the next 12:00am, or 24 hours.
I visited the Hotel Lombardy 4 hours before the start of the reservation. The staff member said everything was ok with the reservation.
When I arrived at Hotel Lombardy at 12:00am, an incompetent second staff member said the hotel was "closed", without explanation what "closed' meant in terms of my reservation.
I showed the reservation details to a third incompetent staff member who previously said I couldn't make a reservation at Hotel Lombardy, when I had received confirmed reservation emails from hotellombardy.com. The incredibly incompetent third staff member only repeated that Hotel Lombardy was "closed", without explanation. When I asked at what time I could visited to start my confirmed reseravation, the incredibly incompetent third staff member said they didn't know when I should visit to begin my reservation.
I then called Hotel Lombardy's telephone number, and gave them my reservation number. A fourth staff member explained that, despite what hotellombardy.com's form said, the reservation was from 3:00pm the first day to 12:00 noon the second day. 20 hours instead of 24 hours.
After this incredible inconvenience, I visited Hotel Lombardy at 3:00pm the first day, and a fifth lying incompetent staff member said Hotel Lombardy was closed for the COVID19 pandemic. This lying incompetent staff member then lied via asking me if I had received the non-existent cancellation email.
If I didn't receive a 100% refund, I will write a second review about this totally awful experience with several maliciously incompetent staff members of Hotel Lombardy.
It's a nice hotel. The staff are friendly and it's in a very convenient location.
Fantastic old hotel!!! I found it by accident on a discount travel website and booked my room with crossed fingers. When I got there, they upgraded me without me having to ask to a one bedroom suite which was absolutely stunning! The restaurant and it's staff was extremely attentive, even though I was alone. I am SO glad I stayed there! I will definitely be staying there every trip I have planned in D.C. in the future!
Very central location. Everything was great to reach. Staff was very nice. Our room was large and nicely decorated. The breakfast was good. (by American standards).
Only downside was no free breakfast. That said, the breakfast buffet that you pay for is pretty delicious.
Everything else was fantastic - quick, no hassle check in (at 2 in the morning), and super fast check-out.
Appalling. Bad attention. Poor and confusing information when charging fees. And they turn around when you complain about their abuse. There are better hotels in the area.
To flee ! A night spent for a business trip. 4 people - 2 bedrooms (15-16 March 2019). Invoicing of drinks in the unjustified mini bar in each of the rooms (7 days later) and without our agreement or warning us. Impossible conversation with the staff. Obvious dishonesty of this establishment that says standing.
It was a great place to stay. Within walking distance of the memorials and White House. Friendly staff. Very clean. Would defiantly recommend.
I found it to be a very nice hidden away bar. Cozy. The fireplace was lit. The bartender Nathan is fantastic...a real pro!
Great hotel and excellent location for DC sightseeing
perfect location for sightseeing, an old and elegant hotel, staff was friendly and helpful, nice and clean room. you pay for each breakfast but, my goodness, it was delicious. overall we can't say anything negative about this place.
Just called to inquire about some details of the hotel. I called and the very "rushed" sounding front-desk clerk answered. I said, "I was calling to inquire about how much it costs for parking." After he informed me that it was $42.00 a night, he then proceeded to hang up on me.
You just lost a potential guest.
Very comfortable accommodations and fantastic location
An older hotel but comfortable and clean. Employee tried to be helpful!*
The internet inside the hotel is bad
There is noisy during the night due to poor insulation and aging of the hotel
May I know how many times my maid entered the bathroom
Very good location, great deal and affordable price. I loved the room
I could hear every movement the persons in the room above me made because the floor was squeaking...I couldnt get a good sleep
The hotel room suffices for what I need - a place to sleep after long hours of work. The staff all seem nice and responsive.
The check-in process was fine enough. We had reserved a king room but first we received a double double, so we had to ask for a new room. The king room we got next was fine. It had a decent shower and was decent sized, but the bed was terribly uncomfortable. There was construction happening in the building to the North, so we were awakened by hammering early. Thankfully we did not spend much time in the hotel, but the sleeping part, the most important part to us of a hotel stay, was tragically bad. Lastly, the checkout process was decent, but the parking fees are ludicrous, and the valet took a very long time to bring our car. It may have been an off day for him, so no judgements. It was just not the optimal experience for us.
A friend was staying at the hotel, so all I did was store my luggage before our flight. The staff was very helpful and accomadating, and the rooms were charming!
We love this place! It s quaint and comfortable. Every time we stay they upgrade our room to a suite with a view of the little park across the street. The location couldn t be better. Very close to Foggy Bottom subway. Hotel sits between downtown dc and Georgetown, and a short walk to DuPont circle! Lots to do within walking distance. The staff are kind, the breakfast is excellent and the bar is cozy. Lovely vintage hotel decorated with period furniture and wallpaper, truly a DC gem.
Nice rooms, helpful staff. This my first time staying at an older, historical hotel and I did miss some of the amenities I am used to such as a business center, but once I adjust my expectations it was a wholly fine experience.
Hotel Lombardy is a beautiful historic hotel. The room are very nice and the hotel is located across the street from a nice little shopping center. The air conditioning doesn't work that well though. It stayed about 75 in my room all day and it was 85 outside.
This place was great and great location. Room was beautiful with beautiful furniture. Interior was attractive. Staff were nice and professional. Great services was done.
A classic hotel very well located, close to everything and with an excellent atmosphere to rest and go for a walk. A bit expensive, but it's worth it.
Great experience in a small hotel. Exceptional facilities
Staff was attentive. Deserves another visit.
Spacious and clean room, quality bathrobe and shower gels, bottled water every evening.
Great location and close to the metro.
Did not experience the restaurant or the breakfast.
Pleasant staff
I recommend.
Ok place. Don t recommend cafe for breakfast with no flair $30 better spent elsewhere.
The hotel is old but the staff service is excellent
I visited this hotel this weekend really worried if I made a good choice, booking thing king suite and the 2 double suite for my daughters 18th birthday trip and when I say omg it was amazing, the staff was so friendly and welcoming, the valet guy Keith was so sweet and friendly, the rooms where better than expected, my family and I will definitely be visiting again when we come back to d.c I had no complaints at all ( and I m very ocd picky) lol
Great service. They gave us a free room upgrade to their nicest suite.
Has a lot of charm, but outdated TV, clumsy to sift through guide, and no pay movies
Very nice location, well appointed rooms, polite and helpful staff.
Very outdated hotel. The heat in my room could not be set. Some days it would be 90 some days 60. Same problem with temperature control on the shower. The faucet in the bathroom also could not be full shut off so there would always be water leaking out. Worst of all the ceiling in my bathroom leaked from about. I told the front desk and their response was okay, thank you for informing us. I then asked if they would send anyone to clean it up and they said they would. A day later and no one had cleaned it. Also during my week stay my room was never serviced.
Lovely charming 1920s hotel with attentive service. Check out the venetian room bar.
Awesome little get-a-way in the heart of DC. ReShell is beyond fabulous and goes above and beyond customer service expectations!
Stayed here several times and look foward to another great stay!
The best hotel in DC, and absolutely the best bar in DC with the best bartender Nathan.
