The fish and chips ARE actually pretty good. Best in Ottawa? I've got a lot of work ahead of me to find out, but at least I can always come back here for quality fish and chips.

They have a ton of daily drink specials and a Thursday night date night special. Two adult beverages, appetizer, two entrees and a dessert for $50 which if you play your cards right you can save a couple of bucks which is great. I took Mrs Lemming when she was pregnant for a date so I got two adult beverages....lucky me.

The battered pickles are a nice change from the typical frozen breaded fare of most pubs, my Glen Club had moist chicken and lots of flavour.

They have Lagunitas IPA on tap, something you don't see every day. There's a separate room that can be booked out for parties and they open at night for busier dinning times.

Well the fish was great. But members of our party that ordered something other than fish & chips were disappointed. Roasties were undercooked and the scotch eggs were like hard rubber balls, virtually inedible. I'll stick to the fish in future.

I was surprised by the quality and taste of the food.. from the look of the building didn't expect anything worth while.. I tried fish and chips.. extremely good.. and my friends had liver and onions he also was impressed.. and I say it did look very good..

Only thing I didn't like was the legal mandated minimum size booth tables.. in Ontario restaurants need to give each diner 2sqr feet of table.. so booth for 4, min size..2 feet x 4 feet.. we sat at opposite ends in the booth so didn't feel like we were in each other's face.. more common are tables 30" across.. that extra space really helps.. Least the table wasn't bolted to the floor.. then I wouldn't even fit.. Yup big guy problem..

Stopped in here for lunch on a Sunday and ordered the clam chowder and fish tacos. The clam chowder was the best I have ever had (no shrimp either)! The serving was huge and it also came with a large piece of bread. Ended up taking the fish tacos home which I enjoyed later and were also super delicious! The service was great as well. Highly recommend!

Went a year ago, food and service were great.

Went again yesterday, service was appalling, when I asked to see the manager, she was rude too. Food was okay, but today we are both feeling ill.

Nice clean organized restaurant. We sat outside. We both had Scotch Meat pies. They were quite different to those served at Muir's in Maxville, which are very very similar to those you find in Scotland. Meaning, they were lacking the flavour. Nutmeg. The pastry is also different but nonetheless tasty. The french fries were really good. I will return and try their haggis!

They have an advertised 20% discount for first responders on Wednesdays so we made a point of going yesterday for lunch, discount doesn't apply for a bowl of clam chowder (not even the large $14 bowl) because its not a 'meal'. Great soup, server was lovely, business sense: 0/10. On the $10 soup it would have been a $2 discount. Will not be back.

Awesome casual dining restaurant that serves Scottish fare. The scotch eggs were perfect. Crispy crunchy outside with soft egg on the inside, along with the tomato marmalade, just perfect. The haggis was creamy and had a hint of pepperiness. They had tasty neeps as a side (mashed up turnip mixed with carrots). It is a location I am very happy to share and will be returning to the Glen for these hearty classics!

I've been to The Glen countless times to both their old location in Kanata (that goes back a while) and the newer location in Stittsville. The food is good.

I have to give a big thumbs up to The Glen for listing their drink menu pricing. For some strange reason, the vast majority of restaurants and pubs list their food menu pricing but never their drink menu pricing. I wonder why? I'd like to know what I am paying for and I'm not even Scottish. I just have an issue paying 4X the Beer Store pricing for any beer at any pub. Hey, maybe I am Scottish.

The new location is nothing like the original. Scottish "pub" in name only. The original was decorated properly, with traditional scottish music playing. It was a very good experience for those of us looking for that. Went to the new one on a Saturday night, it was mostly empty. Local radio or some top 40 playing for background. Fish and chips are very good as would be expected. When I commented to our awesome server my disappointment regarding the music and overall lack of authenticity, I was told that this is the way the new manager wanted it. I would be interested in making it the way the long time paying customers wanted it, not his personal music taste.
At 9:50 we were told last call for bar. Reason: it was slow and they were shutting down. like heres your hat, whats your hurry. So we paid up and our party of 4 had drinks elsewhere.
I drove 45 minutes to go there but I will not be making that trip again Im sorry to say.

Great service and food was good. Need to watch out for extra charges though. Was charged 1.99$ for 1oz. of bar lime for my drink, mayo of the side also an extra cost. Weren't told when ordering or listed on the menu.

Tonight we had a great time at the Glen. Our family ordered the fish and chips, and I ordered the Haggis. I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty and delicious it was. The portions are massive so if you can't eat whale sized portions ask for the single fish. You can also get 1/2 fries and salad as opposed to one or the other, so that is nice. The servers and support staff were wonderful, the restaurant is clean and welcoming.

The Glen is a great place for drinks and food. We have always been greeted by the friendly and helpful staff here. Fish and chops are quite good here with many options on how you would like it done. I would recommend to reserve a seat on a Friday too. We shall be back!

I've had their fish since the mid 1990's (starting when my grandparents would bring some take-out over when I was very young.) The modern restaurant is a fairly modern Scottish-style pub, with a decent beer selection and Scottish-oriented menu. Staff have always been friendly, including the occasional visit from the owner or manager. The light-batter fish is excellent and in generous portions - especially for someone who doesn't like the heavier-batter fare found at other restaurants (although they do offer different kinds here). Highly recommended and frequented.

Went here on a Wednesday over the holidays, was packed but we got seated at the bar and were assured that when a table opened up we would get it. Friendly service from the host, to the bartender, to the waitress. Both my friend and I had the fish and chips, lots of variety to choose from. Great spot!

Fish and Chips Everytime. The fish is fresh and quite large. If it's your first time stick with the one piece (this compares to other location's 2 piece in terms of size), and choose from fries, salad, mashed, soup...special tip...they also have mashed turnips if you ask, which you just have to say "nips please". They take a lot of pride in the fish and it is consistently great. Most people prefer the lightly battered option. You don't feel heavy for greasy after; And often because of this, a lot of people will go for the 2 piece! This time I opted for the breaded spicy option and the spicy tartar sauce (the sauces are fresh too) and they were also great with a nice little kick.

Always love going here for a pint and some of their amazing chicken wings. Has a very cozy atmosphere, and the staff are all very friendly.
It's the only place I've been that serves Haggis (I haven't worked up there courage to try it, but I will)Great food (highly recommend the fish and chips and their chicken wings) and great beer selection, suitable for family and friends alike.
