This restaurant is a west end icon, famous for their breaded fish and other Scottish dishes...all delicious. They change their menu every once in a while but never mess around with the tried and true. Mon-Fri specials until 6 and after 9.

This place is a favourite of mine and my husband's. I would guess we end up here once every couple of months. The service is always good. We prefer the dining room side as it is a little quieter than the bar.

We are pretty boring people. My husband usually gets the beer battered fish and chips and I get the chicken caesar taco with sweet potato fries. Never disappointed. Neither of us drink so cannot comment on the quality of the offerings on tap.

Definitely worth a visit if you are in the neighbourhood.

To be honest Scottish was the last thing I'd think of in terms of food. Big mistake. The food ad Glen is absolutely delicious. The clam chowder is an absolute hit. Do yourself a favor and check them out.

Expectations were high but I was a little disappointed.

Said to have the best fish and chips in Ottawa, I headed over for lunch on a Saturday. Hostess was generally annoyed by customers. Server was great. Fish and chips was just average. Chips were good.

House stout was likely Guiness, which was the only other stout option. Shame!

We were there on Jan 25. Apparently that is Robbie Burns day, so they had some additional entertainment while we ate (a bag piper and come young girls Scottish dancing). It was very different and cool. They also gave us haggis to sample which is one of those things that you either like, or dont. The menu itself has many Scottish options like liver, haggis and scotch eggs but also regular stuff like fish and chips, burgers and sandwhiches. The food was good, but I wouldnt say amazing, but then again, maybe you dont ger amazing food at a pub.

The Glen is known for quality, so I was disappointed when I went this time. I went for lunch on a weekday. The beer was all flat (likely a CO2/beer gas issue), and their famous fish and chips (I ordered the beer battered version) was flavourless. The washroom was quite dirty as well. The server was aldo constantly forgetting items and had to keep coming back to the table with forgotten stuff. The server was also really overzealous when working for her tip. She was at the table every couple of minutes asking how things were.

Normally, the food and drink are great and the service is excellent, but this must have been an off day.

Our server Robyn was acting very strange and was speaking of inappropriate events to a table very close to us. We unfortunately overheard far too much and due to the tone and nature of the conversation we all decided to leave after our beer instead of ordering meals as well. Unprofessional and very dissapointing.

Really good fish and chips. The regular batter is nice with a slightly dryer fish texture. The beer-battered fish gives a nice juicy texture to the fish, but the batter itself tends to be a little greasy, albeit very tasty. Price is on the higher side, but not unreasonable.

The staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant is clean and cozy. Even when it was busy we never had a long wait and we were always updated as to when a table would be ready. The food is definitely yummy and comes out quick enough! One of our favourite places!

We have been going to the Glen for years. In Kanata and now in Stittsville. I recommend this pub to anyone. The food is nothing short of phenomenal. I have tried 99% of the menu and in all the years have not had a complaint. With today's prices it's nice to go somewhere you know the food is great and you get more than your money's worth. Servers are attentive but not overbearing and let you enjoy your meal. Great place to bring a gang.

We live downtown so the idea of going all the way to essentially Stittsville for a meal didn't sit well. We heard that the fish and chips were worth the trip so off we went. We found out at the last minute that the 417 was closed so that caused a little more aggravation to the trip than expected but we eventually got there. The fish part was more than worth the trip the chips I could have done without. I had the fish done in heavy beer batter and it was great. The batter was crisp and the fish was light and cooked properly. They have to definitely work on their chips. The bartender knows how to pour a Guinness. If I was in the area I would definitely stop for the fish. When they improve the chips I would make the trip again. The service was great I wish I could remember the name of the wait person because she was great.

I have to agree that the food is good. It is pleasant to sit in the non TV room or in the summer to sit outside on the patio. I have been there when the place was so crowded and noisy that I just bought food and took it home. So many restaurants over cook fish and spoil it, but that is not a problem at the Glen. Forget any hang ups about fish batter if you have them, just for once at least, the batter is very light and an essential part of the fish flavour.

First timer at The Glen.

First timer at The Glen.
Great atmosphere, decor, and service. The food had healthy portions (you won't be leaving hungry) and amazingly delicious! Very affordable for the portions you get and while the menu isn't huge like some of the other restaurants nearby, they do their menu justice and serve it with quality.
