Been here multiple times when visiting STL Fam or the occasional Cards game. Going to the top in the cramped cars is really not that bad. Terrific engineering to build all aspects of the Arch. True symbol of American ingenuity& expansion mindset. Of course the view.....'Merica!

This was an amazing experience. My early morning road trip to St Louis Missouri was worth it. Everyone I met was welcoming and friendly. It was a learning experience too.
This was a fun visit. If you want to go to the top of the arch buy your tickets in advance online or more than likely you won't get to go to the top. Buy tickets in advance online!
Very disappointed. It was early and when we tried to buy tickets to go on top of the arch they said they were sold out. Don't think I will ever be back in St. Louis so totally missed the opportunity.
We missed the tour couple of times due to over crowed. better book in advance and visit. The Tour time is 9am-4pm. If anyone plan to visit after 4:00pm will miss the tour. so please plan a ahead.
I absolutely loved guest service. And the tram ride to the top was amazing. It was a spectacular view. My only complaint is that the 'Arch parking' is a ten minute walk away but there are closer lots that aren't mentioned in the website. And if you are coming from their parking lot you definitely need to follow the signs because you can't actually see the entrance as it is set into the ground.
What a experience!!! Going all the way to the center of the arch was mind blowing. Only down thing was the wait. We brought tickets and had selected a time frame but sadly they got backed up and we had to wait a extra hour and half. So if your planning on going up, try to make extra time
This is a beautiful place with much more to do than I had anticipated. The river walk was very pretty and provided for some opportune locations with regards to photos. The arch itself is beautiful and it's has some unique buildings around it to make it a cute little area to explore. Parking is bit pricey, but it can be well worth it. The season you go will definitely have an impact on how much time you want to spend there as the wind blowing off of the river can be bitterly cold in the winter time.
The Gateway to the West. If you are in St. Louis you need to stop by this wonderful landmark. The newly renovated museum is spectacular. They did a very nice job and the price to go to the top is reasonable. You have got to see this if you are in town.
Proudly, St. Louis has and always will be my home so I eagerly looked forward to visiting and exploring the newly renovated Arch grounds, museum and exhibits. My daughter and I were finally able visit the new museum and the experience was beyond my highest expectations! At times, traveling throughout exhibits, I felt personally connected to some of the stories and history on a level that was unbelievable and truly moving. I'm already planning my next (much longer) visit as the 3 hours we were there went by in the blink of an eye and I have much more to explore. I cannot recommend this enough!
Going up for the second time in the Arch was amazing. The movie that I watch beforehand about it's construction was pretty cool too. It gets 4 stars because if you're pressed for time, the whole tram ride process is kinda lengthy. They make you stop and watch a corny 60s based animated sequence and take a photo. Just a slight blemish on a great visit.
I went on a trip with my best friend & her children and I saw the Arch for the very first time. I loved it!! And we are planning a trip to go together next year! I can't wait! The area was beautiful and well designed, and I have some amazing pictures & memories now.
The view from the top is amazing, well worth the tight fit in the lifts to the top. Make sure that you use the restroom before going up as there are none up top. That aside, still had a wonderful time and again, great view from atop the Gateway to the West.
Super amazing views, museum, and other travelers. It truly is an amazing place to talk and meet other people in the tiny cars to the top. The museum visitor center is brand new and it is beautiful. So many things that tell the story of the west with artifacts from all over the country, along with the story of the city itself.
An amazing time at an amazing monument. Fun for the whole family. You're not just paying for admission, you're paying for memories that will last a lifetime.
Impressive engineering marvel solely built for tourism. Not a large wait if you go during an off peak time. Prices are understandable as well as parking. Great views from the top.
We enjoyed the visit and the ride to the top was fun. There are adequate parking space available. We went on ride to the top and view was breathtaking. We would like to visit this place again in near future
I liked the most the structure of entire setup and the ground museum. Since it was 88 F Temp outside during our visit and we were expecting air conditioning system in both capsule elevator and on the top view place of the Arch. Please take your time to find the close place to park your vehicle, specially during the festive time.
Beautiful monument, but please do yourself a favor and bring a hat or parasoul. The heat is extreme outside but thankfully there is AC inside. I would suggest going during the week. Avoid lunchtime unless you brought food, otherwise the food stands and lemonade stands are packed with people. Parking is better if you are willing to walk a block or two.
The last time I tried to go to the Arch, it was closed for the renovations I got to experience this last weekend. I have gone to a lot of monuments, and this definitely ranks up there.
We opted for buying our tickets online the day before, and we purchased the tram ride and video for two. It snowed the morning we were supposed to go, but they called us in advance. We had to take a later tram and catch a later video, but it was nice that they still honored our tickets at the best time that worked for us.
The tram is small of course, but actually more spacious than I imagined. It was a quick ride up, and the views were spectacular! The video was very informative. It s really quite amazing to see them go through the process.
The staff was very friendly. And we met some nice people from Chicago. Overall a great experience and we supported by buying some stuff at the gift shop.
If you haven't been since July, 2018, you need to go back! The new museum and grounds are very welcoming and a much needed change! The cafe at the base serves locally roasted beans and other local fare highlights.
Didn't go inside of the arch this time around, just walked around the newly renovated grounds. They really outdid themselves with the updates. The entire park is beautiful. A picnic in the shade by one of the reflection ponds with the Arch in view is my favorite spot to have an outdoor lunch!
Striking, surreal piece of architecture. Best on a sunny or partly cloudy day as the changes in the angle of the sunlight produce spectacular results. I rank this up there with the Eiffel Tower or the Space Needle.
This is a wonderfully put together museum I totally enjoyed visiting. The displays are bright and informative; some are even hands on. The entire museum taught me so many things about St. Louis and its place in commerce and history. The building is under the arch yet it so airy and spacious. I totally recommend visiting !
Spent the day with my son who is graduating from Fort Leonard Military and we had a very wonderful time. Staff was Out Standing. Deserves way more than 5 stars.
Must see attraction in St Louis. Don't be a dud, you gotta go see it. The museum is really nice and it is free! Take the hour you need to wander through it. It is really well done. You will learn alot more than you ever thought about St Louis area and the history of the arch. Make sure to reserve your tickets ahead of time or purchase them online. It sells out very fast every day. Get them day ahead or early in morning. Great view. Couple of notes to take into consideration. First the trip up and down the arch is really measured in minutes, so you don't need alot of time to make the trip (again spend some time int he museum). Second the elevators are really small and only hold 5 per (there are 8 of them) ,but they move pretty quick. If you re claustrophobic, checkout the elevator display in the lobby. Note that there are windows in the doors, so you can see out into the arch as you go up and down. This should help a great deal if you are claustrophobic, as you get a much larger presence with that view. Also it is literally only 4 minutes ride up and 3 minute ride down. Also if you are a very large person...this is going to really tough for you. Again check out the lobby display.
For those of you who are returning visitor's will be surprised by the new entrance (opened l was told June 2018), that goes under ground. You can exit on both sides of the base of the arch as before but cannot enter there.
This was an amazing attraction. The movie before we went to the Arch was very informative and interesting. The view from the top was astounding. I highly recommend this historical landmark!
I ve lived in KC all my life and never visited The Gateway Arch until now! I m so glad I did! The staff was so friendly and the views were absolutely stunning!
This has always been one of my favorite landmarks to visit in my lifetime. The recent renovations a couple years ago make it even better now than it was before. I remember how much different it was years ago and the museum is definitely a nice added touch. This place is definitely worth visiting if you are ever in the St. Louis area.
The gateway arch is very fun and educational experience. The tour takes about 45-60 min and the museum part is free but you'll have to pay for the tour. The tour I chose was the gateway tour and the riverboat tour. You can purchase your tickets ahead of time and either print your tickets out or screenshot each ticket(there is NO cell service) or you can purchase tickets at the arch.
Well worth the $25.00 parking ticket we got! It was so cool to get out and actually touch the arch. It s huge! A must-stop if you re going by there. And if you don t want a ticket, believe the signs when they say Buses Only, even though everyone else is parking their cars there.
So much green space for the kids to run around, beautiful wildflowers to walk through, interesting museum. I would recommend this to people of all ages. We look forward to going back soon.
Definitely glad we decided last minute to make this pitstop. The parking is terrible but definitely worth every bit of frustration. Maybe next time we will have built up courage to actually go up to the top
beautiful place full of history of the building from the beginning to end. people died making this. another thing to remember. directly across the arch is a huge water spout made by the state of illinois that shoots water the same height as the arch to show both states are needed for commerce in this area, always have always been. the small car riding up the arch was very small. not for the weak heart. the arch would sway with the wind at the top. windows were very small and not very many but was able to peak out. amazing.
The new and improved arch grounds and museum is a must see for visitors and locals who have already been. The new museum is hands on, state of the art exhibits, and park rangers demonstrate aspects of fur trade, the routes, native Americans, and the Europeans. The years of St Louis growth on the river front had a spectacular scaled model. We were absolutely delighted by all the updates!
The park has been totally re-done in a high-tech, updated format that totally eliminated the original warmth & comfort of the museum. Outside grounds are clean, open spaces twice the size of a couple years ago with benches (cement) & spacious walking paths. Most of the walking to get from parking to the arch entrance (almost 2 city blocks) is a slow downward ramp-type sidewalk. People were managing wheelchairs carefully, people with canes, like me, & walkers had a workout getting back up the long incline to the street. Thank goodness for the benches! Inside is set up with huge video screens that hit you in the face after you go through security. Large rooms depicting different periods in history are all around a large open area & are full of information - all politically correct. Whole place is Spotless! There's the Cafe for snacks, sandwiches & beverages, a gift shop with reasonably priced souvenirs, clean restrooms, ticket window for rides in the arch. It's worth the time but I won't go again. It lost a lot by all the updating & modernizing.
If you haven't been here before and are thinking is it worth my time....the answer is yes. It's not every day you get to experience something like this
The visit of the St Louis Arch is really interesting, especially if coupled with the movie relating the journey to build it. The wagons to climb it up are pretty small, but it s worth the narrowness. Nice activity!
The new entryway is top notch! Once past security you can buy your ticket to go up into the Arch. While you wait your turn, you can do other things, like looking in the new museum. It covers the whole history of St. Louis from the time it was founded by the French to the current day. There are plenty of activities to engage younger ones, but also a lot of information to satisfy the older ones.
This was way different than the last time I was here. There is quite a bit in the Arch Museum.... very little of which is about the Arch, or even Stl for that matter.
While we didn't go up the arch, the museum was beautiful and environment very well kept. Parking to get there was very difficult due to nearby construction and the homeless presence in the area is almost startling, but once you get to the actual monument you wouldnt believe there was ever a tent city nearby.
It has taken me almost 40 years to finally get here. Parking was close and about 10 bucks. The walk was easy and quick. We went for spring break so it was still pretty slow. We overbought our tickets online. Went through the gift shop then sat and waited for our time to come up. Ride to the top was tight. Im pretty fat but we still fit in just fine. Don't let that discourage you from this cool experience. Once up we took a few pics and came back down. Great views of the city. Its worth the trip.
The smallest natural park I've visited but I still managed to stay all day! Between going up into the arch itself, the documentary, museum, and gift shop there's a lot to see and learn about. I didn't know anything about the arch or the history of St. Louis but my visit definitely changed that!
BEAUTIFUL! Great place to take the family. I was very comfortable walking around with my family in the downtown area. The museum under the arch was awesome. I am scared of heights but the price to go up into the Arch is very affordable. The great thing about this last weekend was that it was prom night. Seeing everyone down there taking pictures & having a great time was nice to see.
The gateway arch is a must see, At least once in your life time. There is an awesome museum under the arch for you to view while waiting for your tram time. Arrive at least 2 hours early to go through security and lines. I bought our tickets on line and had them sent to my email, I just showed tickets on my phone. Once there you get in the admission line NOT ticket line and it moves very fast. The tram holds 5 people and there are 8 cars that go up at once. The view from the top of the arch as you can see in pictures are great. I'm not going to share my videos of the tram ride up as I think one needs to experience it without knowing ahead time What to expect. I will say it was a lot of fun. My grandkids are still talking about the arch and the tram ride up. The entry price I feel is very reasonable. There is a cafe under the arch and the food we had was very good. Again prices were comparable if not less then some other museums I've been to. Highly recommended you go, once to the top you can stay as long as you want. Its climate controlled so no worries about the temperature inside. Nice gift shop under the arch too.
Incredible views from the top (lean over the side, incredible feeling, and that s coming from a pilot. See pics. Cool creepy ride to the top. Look for skinny people to ride with haha. You will see what I mean when you get there. Guide had great personality. Seemed like he cared about his job. A great asset.
The Gateway Arch is a must to see while in St. Louis. It was built in the 60's which makes it a marker in time. Great place to take your kids and family to learn a little about St. Louis history. Also, the thing was built and it was built well. Beautiful views at the top!
I wouldn't come just to see the Arch...but if you're in town or nearby, it's a must see. Very friendly, knowledgeable staff, and the museum you walk through to get to the tram is very modern and well done. Lots of great information to be had about the area and its history.
I was just passing through so I could only get pictures from out my car window, but I was amazed at how dig the arch is. It started as a tiny arch in the distance and just kept getting larger. The closest picture is still a few hundred feet away. Absolutely amazing.
Amazing place to go hang out in the city. Parking was easy to find and cheep. Very nice park with good green space to eat and hang out. The arch is beautiful and great for photos!!
