My wife and I had a wonderful time. This was her first time going up in the Gateway Arch. She loved every moment.
My wife and I had a wonderful time. This was her first time going up in the Gateway Arch. She loved every moment.
Very archy! The new museum is nice as well with lots of gateways disguised as doors. So this has it all - gateways and an arch. Who could ask for anything more? Well actually, I could. No stickers - the gift shop needs water bottle stickers.
Really nice place and a must do if you're in town. Only $13 to get in.
When I visited, there was a problem with one of the trams. As a result, our group had to wait more than an hour for a ride up. The ride itself was a bit cramped but not uncomfortable and over quickly. The views were nice and the arch itself is very impressive. I would definitely recommend it to others.
Glad we went early. Avoided the crowds. Parking not good for older people with handicaps. Rode to the top with own personal park ranger who shared interesting info .
Wonderful experience all around. The museum and much if the area is free. The ride to the top is well worth the cost. This should be on every American's bucket list.
The last time I was there I was 4 years old but still remember it quite clearly. It's worth your time to go.
A classic American landmark. They have improved the facilities and capacity.
The Arch is AWESOME!!!!! If you are coming to St Louis, it is something you want to stop in and see. Cost is not bad if you want to go to the top and look out. The design and style is very cool to see. The grounds are well maintained and the history of the arch is very cool.
I hadn't been to the arch in years. Need better signs for the new entrance! I didn't care much for the new museum. The movie was great. The ride to the top was the same as it's always been but there were so many people at the top you could barely get to a window to look out, mostly because of the line of people waiting to go back down.
Amazing experience! Definitely recommend! The people there are so kind and from my experience all other visitors were very respectful. Overall it was truly a great time.
This was alit of fun. Full of history. But be warned, it is not a place for a person with handicaps. My friend and l went. Was way too much walking for her.
$14 to take tram to the top, this is not for the faint of heart it is 630 feet high and the top is always packed. The museum has great historical facts, wanted to do the riverboat Cruise but its closed on Sundays (boohoo) it's a nice place to check out, but it closes at 6 so leave to to appreciate it.
A memorable trip in my life. An awesome architecture. Be mindful that last tram goes to the top at 4:30-4:50ish. Don't be fooled that it's open until 6:00.
Going up on the Arch is awesome the ride up is so damn cool!!! When you're at the top it's so breathtaking and incredible!!! This is must do while in St Louis I wish I would've done it sooner since I am down there a lot!!! The staff is so friendly, polite and so imformative!!! Everything is so nice before you go on the ride up!!! Overall an amazing experience!!!
Free timed ticket into museum. Tram closed store open. Just like it..
Love to go to the arch and see the amazement in face of first time visitors
Great place to visit while you sweat away in St. Louis, Missouri. Great gift shop with yummy fudge. I didn't go into the arch, but I did enjoy the museum and a book I bought from the gift shop.
Amazing piece of architecture. The recently updated museum and visitor center is great. Cafeteria was quick and easy. Pretty good and not outrageous for food at an attraction. 6 year old loved it.
I've been through St. Louis countless times and have never stopped until recently. It's been on my list of things to do for a while. Finding somewhere to park wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It's not too expensive to ride to the top. The view is amazing! I definitely recommend going of you're in St. Louis and have time to stop. The wait time for us was like 2 hours, but we walked around and looked at shops in the mean time. It was definitely worth the wait!
Arch grounds, museum and historic story of the Arch and it's engineering marvel is great for all ages. Very accessible (walking distance) to great restaurants downtown.
Awesome experiance to have. The biew atop of this is amazing. Learning the history in the museum built under it was cool too. Ticket prices are good, easy to order online parking is in a parking garage across the street which is actually about .5 miles away but very worth it.
A great place to spend the day with family. Beautiful!
Museum, tours, top of the arch, riverboat tours. Costs $14 to go to the top, $11 for kids. Tours leave about every 10 minutes.
Very neat to see. A little hard to get to due to construction, but happy we stopped!
The visit at the top was very short. Still enjoyed it. Beautiful surroundings.
Nice place for adults as well as kids.
Do not go if you are afraid of small places because you have to take a tiny tram to reach to top of the Arch.
Also there is nice place at the bank of the river to seat and enjoy cool breez.
Take the horse carriage ride.
Awesome you'd think you were boarding a plane but great renovation
Area managed by the NPS was a nice stop with an interactive exhibit. Keep in mind, it is a national park, so there is a full security checkpoint. Also, the main portions of the location are operated by a third party (the tram ride, gift shop, etc) and tickets go fast.
Nice relaxing visit. Arrived around 11:30 am, bought tickets for tram ride to the top. Finished before 2:00 pm. Little wait of about an hour to get in line. You have a small museum to see and a cafe during your wait. Ticket times are spaced in 10 minute intervals. Maybe a half hour wait in line to get on the tram to the top.
Never visited the old museum and arch setup. I found this a great experience. The museum is very informative and well broken down and splits subjects into manageable chunks as well as address some difficult topics regarding Native Americans and their treatment. The arch is a short ride with great views. If you re honest the reason you came to St Louis.
If you enjoy sitting in a pod (egg shaped) with four other people going up 663ft, this the monument for you. Though seriously the view is amazing and the museum is engaging and keeps you interested. So worth the time and 13 dollars a person.
It's a must see when in town. The windows to look out of are very small. They herd you in and out, but it's a well oiled operation!
It was a great experience. Little did I know that there's so much more to do there than just walk around the Arch. There's a whole museum underneath the monument with a small restaurant. You can actually ride to the top of the Arch in these tiny 1960 era capsules (Not for everyone; these things are tiny.) They let you stay on the cramped top for as long as you want. They also offer a river tour & movie. It was just way more than I expected. I had fun.
Great overall experience! Views would be better in another season. Do not go if you have claustrophobia or fear of heights.
This was our first visit. I heard it was newly remodeled and very different from how it was previously. The museum is very cool and free. Many exhibits including some with interactive things for younger kids. We also paid for the tram to the top of the arch. I thought it was pricey for what it was, but it's a must see when you are there. Why else visit? Large and clean restrooms, nice looking cafe. Large gift shop that also sells fudge and penny candy (but it costs more than a penny!)
Totally worth going to the top. The line to purchase tickets wasn t long. The tram cars are very small but I feel like it adds to the experience. All the employees were very nice and the view at the top was amazing. My mom has a fear of heights and small spaces but even she enjoyed it and didn t freak out
The ride to the top was fun and the veiws were breath taking we loved it and we definitely will be returning again :-)
Landmark that shouldn't be missed if you are in the area. Take a riverboat tour out front if you have time! The tour narrators are informative while occasionally hilarious.
I grew up in St. Louis. Just visited family during Thanksgiving..took my kids to the arch. They loved it!!!
Awesome view for miles on clear days if you re in town check it out
Always enjoyed spending time at the Arch grounds, but the renovation work has made the grounds even more enjoyable. Living in a different city now when I hear of people visiting the St. Louis area this is a stop always at the top of the recommendations list.
We are so lucky to have the arch! The new park renovations really make it a destination. I love walking along the arch grounds and sitting at the steps along the river. So many great restaurants within walking distance for lunch
Old court house and ball park. Lot of changes since we were here 2 years ago.
This was a fun event for us. The waiting in line for the tram to the top was a bit much, but everything else was so excellent that we just brushed that off. The museum is comprehensive and interesting, but the view from the top of the Arch is breathtaking. The tram ride up was thrilling as well. Overall it is a "don't miss" activity.
I was a bit skeptical about going with my 5 kiddos with all the hype about St. Louis but it was great. We didn't go up because we had our dog but we definitely will on a return trip. The museum was under rehab so hopefully that will be done soon. Be careful near the arch entrance if you bring your dog because my dog burned his paws. (He's OK.) Helpful tip: cheaper parking further east on 1st. We paid $10 for this tiny lot close to the entrance but a couple blocks down was a bigger lot for $6.
The gateway arch museum was a super fun experience. Definitely recommended for visitors to St. Louis. Incredible models, great history lessons and awesome projection screens make for a super fun experience and you learn a lot at the same time. On top of all that this museum (like many others in the area) is free!!!
We walked from our hotel to the park. The walkway has arrows to point you to the entrance but it goes down into the ground so not obvious until you get closer. To get to the tram ride there are lots of stairs to go up and down. Each tram car fits 5 people. We bought our tickets online.
Good place to spend the day with the kids and view the scenery from the top of the arch.
Very awesome place. I haven't been there since the early 90's and going today didn't disappoint. There is a lot more awesome stuff to see and do now. Still an amazing view from the top of the arch. A must see when you go to St. Louis.
Me and my family had a great time visiting the arch, it was lots of fun and the view was amazing. Customer service was fast and reliable, and they were friendly as well.
Go early to avoid the crowd and the traffic. A great quick stop if you're passing through or take the trip to the top if you have time!
Worth visiting. They also have museum thats really informative fir the Arch and the American history.
The whole family loved the museum and the elevator up to the top of the arch. Amazing views of the city and river.
Would love to go again! The elevator is really cool. If you're TALL, try to get in the middle seat. I'm on the shorter side myself, I liked being by the door the best for the view of the arc's insides. There is a sample elevator car in the lobby you can get in to see if you'll be able to handle the tight space/seat size. Your group may be split up to fill empty spaces in other cars, so pick out your buddies and lone wolves! I went with a friend during the summer last year and I think we were separated both ways. We were able to stay up top as long as we wanted.
A truly beautiful piece of art, symbolizing the importance of the city and making a statement to it's citizens and to the world.
Such a beautiful sight from this arch! Don t be scared to go up, it s totally safe! Inside it has a cafe, security checkpoint, museum, and the elevators up. The ride is not scary up, just saying! I hope YOU can go soon! Such a fun piece of architecture!
Awesome place, specifically you will enjoy the Arch with your favorite person...
1st time at the Gateway Arch; didn't get to go inside, however. I wasn't aware all the time slots would be sold out before I had to return home. C'est la vie & that's okay! The scenery is lovely, and I will be going back for the Arch.
Beautiful tourist attraction and an aw inspiring monument, the perfect image to represent Missouri
Was a great place to go visit, inside it had some amazing views! Really cool place for the whole family.
Would not recomend for anyone who doesn't like being in small spaces, the tram to the top of the arch isn't big enough to stand up in and the viewing deck is also pretty small especially when you have a full 40 people.
Best days to come are Tuesdays.
Your going to want to park near the old courthouse. Google gets confused and puts you on the highway, then tell you to walk. Besides the confusing directions it is a sight to behold
A must see if you are in town. This was my second trip to the top. The first time I was 10 years old. The new museum displays make this an excellent and very affordable family event. Great views from the Arch and park grounds below. There is security screening for the Arch viewing platform, if you can't take it on a plane, don't try to take it up into the arch.
It's not the most exciting thing , but it is definitely worth doing once.
St. Louis is my hometown and visiting the gateway Arch for the first time was like a dream comet true.
We love the new park over the highway! Its great to see more green space in the city.
Very cool place to see. It's a little anti climatic when you're traveling alone, but definitely a nice place to visit with friends and family. The trip up the tram was definitely an interesting, kinda creepy experience, but I'm glad I went for sure!
What an experience! You must ride to the top, the view is amazing!!!! Others in my party saw the movie and they were in awe! We bought the entire photo package! Worth every penny!!!!
Tried to go here 2 times and it wa closed. 3rd time it was open. Glad I tried again. Definitely a must see.
This Arch is amazing. Once again, couldn't go to the top because it was closed due to Covid19. I think precautions could have been put into place to open it safely. Masks and gloves could have helped and still generated funds.
The museums been redone within the past few years and it is fascinating and interactive!
Breathtaking piece of architecture! The tram to the top is still closed, but we still enjoyed it!!
Really cool! We we're there after it just re-opened from construction. The lift just opened for the ride to the top. The gift shop and everything else was awesome. We also did the boat ride, which was very enjoyable!
Highly recommend you visit!
Really great national park ,engineering marvel, ride up and down pretty tight 5 people in small pod, staff great ,really helpful knowledgeable ,lots of history in museum, great views oh both sides of Mississippi river, definitely put on bucket list
We got here late after 10pm on our I-70 trek but was still an awesome sight to see and experience at night!
Neat place to visit. One warning, pre purchase your tickets online otherwise you'll be standing at the altar alone because you didn't. Bringing the kids with us next time they will love it.
Great place to bring the family. Great views east to Illinois and west toward St. Louis.
Museum was awesome .. we couldn't go up the arch this time . If u do go visit, please take your mask and remember to practice safe distancing..
This is always a favorite. I am local so I take visitors here. The area surrounding the Arch has been redone and is well lit and easy to walk. The new entrance is breathtaking and the walkway to the museum and tram to the top have been well thought out.
The security lines can take a while, so sad that we have to do that now but they try to make it easy.
We went in the evening in the summer and the Cardinals were playing baseball. You can see the game going on in the stadium from the top of the Arch.
Jeremy our tour guide was super enthusiastic! Learned a ton and had a fun trip. Small spaces freak me out but it was ok over all
The building is very cool. It s somewhat claustrophobic to get to the top. It can get crowded and the floor to ceiling carpet at the top feels like it hasn t been cleaned since installation. It s worth the visit, but could be improved.
The view is amazing. The ride isn't as glamorous as I thought and the windows on the top are very small. But, it is definitely a good experience!
Had a great time! Going up was very cool and the sights were amazing. The museum was pretty cool too. The food wasnt that great though, pretty basic!
Not much parking around and you can get towed. But the arch is beautiful
Incredible experience. A must do in St Louis. The new museum is really well done too.
Very cool landmark and interesting to learn about. Gets really crowded at top and hard to see things when you have lots of pushy people around you so you have to stand your ground at times. Some of the tour guides don't really seem to want to be there as well. Museum is really interesting and free as well.
The new museum complex is beautiful and accommodates the huge crowds now! Definitely worthy of its new National Park designation.
