I was here about 35 years ago. It has changed so much. It is an amazing and awesome experience. We got there early and had not problem getting thru security. The museum is amazing and the displays are awesome. We didn't have to wait long at all for the tram ride up. The entire place is air conditioned. Spend about 30 minutes at the top. The gift shop and cafeteria are great.

A must see if you are in the St Louis area. You ll be surprised by how large of a structure the arch really is. Only downfall for me is that i didn t get to go up but if you have the time make the trip up.

Me and my uncle were doing a cross-country trip. This was one of our best tourist like stops. It's magnificent. It's much taller than you would think. You can ride to the top. I had no clue. Just so epic!!

The Gateway Arch is awesome, one of a kind. It amazes me how they were able to come up with that idea of building it that way. The surrounding is nice too. The three different bridges and the big river are really eye catching. Going up the arch was so exciting, although not good for those who are afraid of high places. View from the top was fabulous, the other side are the bridges and the river and on the other side is the city of St. Louis, Mo. The basement is still ongoing construction but getting close to completion. The walls designs are informative and you will not be bored while waiting for your turn to go to the top of the arch.

The Gateway Arch is an amazing place especially for families. It is free to get into. You can then explore the museum. You only have to pay to ride the tram to the top of the Arch. It is well worth it. My only suggestion is to go when it's not busy. There are 5 seats in the pod so it gets really cramped. We only had 3 adults in our pod and our knees were almost touching. I know a lot of people have questions about parking. I parked in the lot in the photo. I paid $6 for the whole day. You can park a little closer but you will be paying anywhere from $16-20 for the whole day.

This is a beautiful park right on the river around this historical landmark. The Arch itself is HUGE and it was so cool being under it and seeing the structural pieces up close since this is an architectural masterpiece in my opinion! While it was very busy the Saturday night in August when I visited with a lot of people playing Pokemon Go in the area I still found a place to sit and relax without anyone bothering me. There are many steps along the river that lead to the riverfront to sit and enjoy the scenery and people watch, and it was my first time seeing a real riverboat, which I thought was awesome since it reminds me of a time long ago but for other maybe not so much. I also love that the Arch can be seen from all around the city and can be used as a point of reference if you're ever lost! I recommend seeing this beauty up close if you have a chance!

What a great national monument. The place and grounds are beautiful. This is also affordable at $13 per person. They are improving the experience by upgrading the visitor center and making it more interactive for the millennials.
The pod for the tram ride reminded me of Austin Powers: "Yeah, baby!" The ride up is herky jerky, but wonderful. The lack of room - the couple next to us were on top of each other, but not complaining - is part of the experience. Wonderful!
The views from the top are great. The ONLY issue I had was the small windows. But we were still able to get some incredible pictures.
We originally debated stopping here, but are so grateful we did as it was an incredible experience. I highly recommend stopping here and experiencing The Gateway Arch.

If you are in St. Louis you will want to stop here. They were redoing the underground tour area and the elevator trip to the top was closed for maintenance. Parking was easy just a few blocks south there was easy parking. Suggest going in late spring or summer. Check ahead online to see if they are doing any maintenance because it could affect getting to the top. I have heard the wait can be long to do the tour up top. We did not have that issue because it was closed.

IWhat is to not love about the Arch, except the price. We ate at the cafe had toasted ravioli, a panini, and a hamburger. Food was surprisingly good. Our tour guide was Asia and she was fabulous. Sent us the wrong pictures via text. Need to figure out how to fix.

The new renovation that was completed in July 2018 makes the whole place feel refreshing. I think the new design is a very good use of space and looks nice, clean, and mordern. The signage is clear and easy to understand and all of the displays are very well laid out and allow for multiple people you crowd around an exhibit simultaneously. The different sections of the new layout are smartly organized and offer interesting facts.

3 stars first because they do not offer military veterans a discount. Only active duty. Do not understand the logic. Second the reception area is cold and sterile, not welcoming. Did like new museum and of course the views from the top!

Our first visit since the remodel. We had a very nice time. The facility was brought up to the latest tech. We didn't go up to the top of the Arch as we've been there before, but the lines were long. The Museum is new and much improved. The entrance has been moved closer to the courthouse.
Be prepared for tight security too. It's very much like going through an airport. They moved us through fairly quickly despite the long lines. We found the gift shop a little bit pricey, but not everyone will agree I'm sure.
Great place to spend time poking around.
Beware because it may be educational.

Love spending time at the arch. It was amazing to see all of the renovations that have been done. This is such a fun place to visit! It s nice that you can go to the museum without having to pay. I highly recommend taking a trip to the arch.

The little areas exposing the history were very cool and informative and the place was clean and efficient. My low stars are for the absolute chaos that takes place once your up in the viewing area. They seem to pack as many people in there as possible and it s hard to really enjoy the views. Wish there was more structure and would have given higher stars. The views were beautiful. The rudeness of the other guests, not so much.

The new museum and deck park are amazing! This place was fantastic before, but now it's exceptional. When the old Court house is finished, the entire complex will also be fully ADA compliant and welcoming to everyone.

A must see! Anywhere you stand you will most likely get awesome pictures. Weather was way too hot but it was worth it. Did not go up since I m claustrophobic but even seeing it from the outside was a great view.

We took the tram to the top-4 minutes up, 3 minutes down. The view from the top was awesome, some of the windows had condensation since it was early. The parking is another story, we were lucky and were able to find a place on Chestnut, but later in the day would be very difficult. There is a way to get on a bus to get there, but do not have the info for that.

What an opulent edifice! The Arch is a wonderful piece of architecture. When walking towards the River, the entrance is on the left with the exit on the right. They are remodeling at moment. Great big park all around. Between river and Arch, bench style seating made of concrete. It's around $15 for a ticket to go up inside The Arch. Beautiful area and I highly reccomend!

This place is huge. Way bigger than I expected it would be. We went to the top and took about 4 minutes to get up there in a very small pod. Definitely sit in the replica chair before you go. This is not the place to be scared of heights or tight spaces but the view even on a cold rainy day is still breathtaking to take in.

SO much fun! Had an issue with tickets and they were very accommodating. I was unaware that you have to get into small little pods to get to the top so I wish they would have mentioned that because I am claustrophobic so it was a bit of a surprise, but I a made it and had a blast!

We had a wonderful time! Going up in the elevator to the top was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. There was nice fresh/cool air coming in a vent. We got to ride just the 3 of us also. The view at the top.....amazing!

Man, it is HUGE. Even though we couldn't go inside/to the top #COVID19, it was enjoyable. They keep it very clean. It's nice to walk the whole area, sit in the grass, look at the water and say hi to boats passing by, and take pictures. There are a couple of informational plaques outside of it, with braille and things to feel for people who can't see it which I really like and respect! The grounds are kept up beautifully.

If you wanted to go up in the arch you have to pay 16 dollars per person. But the museum downstairs was amazing and free! If you want to go to the museum you do have to go though security like the airport).

We stayed at the Marriott St Louis Grand hotel for a conference. After check out, we left our car in the garage and jumped on Bird and Lime scooters and traveled to the Arch that way (only about a 7 minute ride, which cost a total of $8) super nice area, full views of the water. We didn't go inside but had plenty of great photo ops from the outside!

Every time I hear "St. Louis", I always think of the Gateway Arch! Yay, we finally got the chance to see this awe inspiring iconic landmark, the tallest monument in America, and the tallest arch in the world: The Gateway Arch. Amazingly gorgeous!

Friendly, helpful, and welcoming staff at the facility area. Well kept and very clean!

Loved this experience. The pictures keep sakes on the boat cruise and on the way up to the top. Adorable! Definitely an experience I won't soon forget. I love that my children got to experience this as well. Around the loading dock there is a large amount of trash and debris with an awful odor though but inside the arch is super clean. The staff there were super helpful and polite. We will definitely be back!

My wife and I were on a roadtrip from Oregon to Indiana and we stopped by to check this amazing piece of history out again. We had visited many years ago when our sons were young and it was pretty impressive then! This time...not so much. We didn't realize that the place had been commercialized to the point of needing airport security. We didn't have much time and as we had a two-hour wait for the next tour, we just left.

What can I say about the great Arch that has not been said before? Not much. What I can say is that each individual experiences it in a slightly different way. So, go there, experience it. What you feel and see will not be the same as everyone else. BTW, allow plenty of time, at least two hours, maybe more.

Really awesome place to visit. The tram that takes you up is a tight fit but still worth it. Average price of $14. The price slightly changes with a few dollars depending on which day you go.

We visited the Arch at sunset on a holiday, which meant the BEAUTIFUL park area and arch grounds were fairly empty. We loved the views and the glorious glow on the Arch. The National Park around the arch grounds is amazing! I was blown away by the pristine grassy knolls, the waterways, and the trees. Beautiful - A special place!

I read about the arch in a Weekly Reader in school many years ago. It has been on my bucket list for years. The staff at the security checkpoint at the museum and access to the pods that take visitors to the top of the arch, were professional and efficient. It took little time. There were plenty of seats to rest if needed. Clean restrooms. The museum had reopened the week we visited. The exhibits were fresh and informative. They ranged from static displays to large screens showing a beautiful background. One wall did a comparison of the arch to well known places such as the Washington Monument in DC and the Statue of Liberty. Then there was the Arch. It was amazing and lived up to my decades old expectations. Pick a sunny day when the arch displays its brilliant reflection. I actually laid across the steps so I could see it in a different awesome perspective. There is also a nice park with ducks, grassy areas and trees. Nice place to take a walk.

This was my 2nd visit, 1st for my wife. We arrived early morning and did not have a long wait. There's a museum inside at the base to keep you entertained until your ticketed time arrives. And while in line for the elevator, a guide tells stories so you're never bored. The ride up is fun - the "elevator" has to zig-zag: side step, up, side step, up. The view at the top is awesome.
