Awesome experience and the renovations make it a brand new experience every time you go. Can't make a trip to St Louis with out riding the "escape pod" elevator to the top.

Radiation detectors went off as we were going through security. Had to wait for awhile but other than that had a great time
The engineering feat was impressive and the design simple yet distinctive. The viewing area on top shows its age. It was small and cramped. The movie was good. The visitor center is undergoing renovation to reopen in 2018 so I expect a much better experience then. The tram ride up was cramped and could be a problem if you have claustrophobia. You really only see the stairs and some of the inside structure as you go up.
The view from the top has good St. Louis city and especially the baseball field but not very interesting facing east.
It's one of those "bucket list" items.
It is just cool a great place to bisit. The view out of the top of arch is amazing.
If you're visiting St. Louis this is a must. Buy tickets online the tram ride sells out quick during the day... Best to get up early on your way out of town
Very cool. Unfortunately wasn't able to go to the top.
Great place to visit. Tram ride was a bit crammed but amuzing and fun! Views from the top were priceless.
Waited for 90 minutes between security and the line for the tram up to the top, this is with a ticket purchased in advance. . . Expect a 10 to 15 minute walk from parking to the Arch (no parking at the actually Arch site). Currently tons of construction around the arch. Id reccommend going to the very first ticket time of the day to avoid standing in such long lines for hours, or just going and seeing the arch and not actually going up in the trams. The views at the top are good, but that wait. . . Whew.
It's so huge. We went early early in the morning and it was perfect. It wasn't busy at all and it wasn't hard to find parking. It's hard to get the whole arch in the photo. Definitely suggest going there while in St. Louis
Just as great as I remember it before the remodel, but now with the added museum it makes the experience even more enjoyable.
I can't give it 5 stars because of the "airport security" atmosphere. Be prepared to have your bags and body scanned.
Must stop experience on your way through St Louis, Missouri. There are great views from the top. Only downfall is that so many people touch the windows at the top that it's all smeared. I would recommend the staff cleaning windows more frequently at the top.
Great view from the top. Be sure to see the movie about the construction. Very impressive!
Under the arch is a great museum, the tour up the arch is a mechanical geek's wonderland and the view are outstanding.
A perfect place to get a dose of history in St. Louis. Ride to top of arch could excite the real young ones. Views from the top are nice. I would suggest visit during sunset hours for better views. The real gem is the museum at the bottom of the arch. It is just about the right size to keep your attention. Instead of just being celebratory of Westward expansion it asks thought provoking questions about its impact on native Americans.
I've been there three times in the past, before they remodeled. It seemed bigger before, but I could be wrong, it has been a while. They no longer have parking, so good luck finding a place to park, especially if you need handicapped parking. After circling a few times, we were lucky enough to snag street side parking by the river, but there are stairs so my handicapped daughter still had trouble. When we finally made it to the arch, we wondered around with 3 or 4 other families/groups who were also trying to figure out how to get in. After finding the exit, we were able to get directions to the entrance. Yay, we finally made it! We arrived 2-3 hours before they closed, but they were still all sold out for the ride to the top. In the past, I've never had to buy tickets hours in advance. I don't know if it's vastly more popular than in the past, or if they are understaffed, or what, but for whatever reason, you have to now buy your tickets hours in advance. Maybe you can buy them online, but I didn't see that option on my phone. I would check to see if it is an option to buy online, so you don't waste your time like we did and drive hours out of your way for no reason. As for us, we will not be going back again, even if we are staying in the city.
Very good feeling going on top of the world around you. Really want visit one more time.
Great experience for adults and kids alike. Bought tickets online ahead of time. Very organized tour to the top of the arch with friendly staff. It would be hard to spend more than an hour or 2 here, but it was worth our time and money to see this impressive monument up close. Even if you don't want to take the tram to the top, you can walk right up to it from the outside for free.
Awesome atmosphere even has helicopter rides. The river walk is beautifully constructed.
The Gateway arch or often referred to as the Saint Louis Arch is really a great place to visit. The rehab of the park and grounds around the arch are beautiful. Riding the tram to the top is always a great time for kids and the views from the observation area are. Death taking.
Always a great place to visit, especially with kids. The tram ride to the top and the view up there is something we ll always remember!
Honestly it is quite the unforgettable experience. It went very well and it was very fun I have to say. I got to ride in the cart all the way to the top and boy it was quite the experience. Once you re up in the arch you get a beautiful scenery and amazing pictures. Not exactly scary but just beautiful.
Took the family on a one day stop to the Arch on our way to the Ozarks. Was a great experience but if you want to go inside the Arch to the too- order your tickets early online- don't want it to be sold out when you get there.
A neat experience we can take off our bucket list.
The museum and tram were a wonderful experience. Very friendly staff and beautiful park.
Really a meaningful place to be and be able to go up and look over city
It's an historic monument that allows you to see an incredible view of the city, and a great view of the Mississippi River. Not much to complain about!
Well maintained and polite employees. Good place to visit with kids to learn St Louis history. Impressed with the design and architectural skills of the 60s
Great experience. Didn't go up arch...don't like heights. Museum downstairs amazing. Got our stamp for the national park passport book. Enjoyed very much.
I really enjoyed the area. It seems like it is a very underrated monument and as such it isn't crowded. It doesn't take all day to see and I think that's a big plus.
They've really spruced this place up since the last time I visited about five years ago. Sleek and modern but rustic for the museum in a very interactive learning experience.
And free to visit no less!
Would be 5 stars. My second time visiting. Both time construction was going on. The Arch is amazing. My timing must just be bad for being in St Louis. Live taking the ride to the top of the Arch.
Beautiful facility, helpful park rangers. The cafe chef wasn't super helpful and kind of rude.
Pretty cool place. I would get there early to avoid crowds
Cool place to go visit. Would recommend going both at day and night it looks so much different at the different times. Also take a walk by the levee it's so close and has great views as well.
Really awesome place. This was my first time in St. Louis, Missouri and my first Tim bcc to see the Gateway, Arch. Amazing architecture and an amazing place on the Mississippi River.
It's unfortunate this is only a National Park because the president wanted to have it as a defense when environmentalists come at him, but it's still fun to go to!
We went during the night, which I think I decided is the way to do it. We didn't go to any restaurants or spend any time at bars, but I could see someone making a night out of it. I wish there was more historic information, especially since it's a NP, but it's still a relatively new one, so maybe that will change over time.
In short, go if you can, because why wouldn't you? How often are you forced to go to St. Louis anyway?
This is such an amazing place! Our children absolutely loved it! They enjoyed the documentary and learning how it was built! This is definitely a must see!
Impressive! From the museum and the grounds to the Arch experience....really first class.... Trams to the top are not for the claustrophobic. Slight sway at the top. Amazing views! Highly recommended.
Fun monument! The newly remodeled museum is very nice.
Extraordinary building. There is a new museum opening later this year 2018 but it wasn't yet open. There was a film about the construction which was fascinating. The train/lift isn't accessible as apparently there are 96 steps! I don't know if there's a way round that. Still enjoyed it though!
Some technical difficulties qith the tram but the employees were friendly and found a resolution. Worth the wait to see the view from the top.
AMAZING!!!
Cool ride to top, can see many of the skinny stairways that go up.
At the top you get time to see the view on both sides.
Very cool.
If you have never been you at least have to come once and see it in person. Pictures don't do it justice
Great visit. Wonderful view. Movie was also very informative.
The St Louis Arch park has a lot to see and do. There was some construction going on while we were there. Fun trip to the top of the arch.
This is an amazing structure. so huge up close that u cant fit the entire thing in a single image unless from the side profile view.
Free to visit the grounds and wander the museum, gift shop and snack bar; $37 to take the tram and ride up while other and less expensive options are available. National Park security is in effect so be prepared for more than TSA screening. Live cameras from the top of the arch are in the museum. Outside area is pretty cool with the grand staircase.and ponds, all right on the river front. Parking will run from 6 to 10 bucks, depending on how close you want to get but you will still walk close to a half mile to and from the parking areas.
I did not expect a museum to be under the arch so it was a good surprise. Staff were nice. The displays covered different facets of the westward expansion. While your re in this area, visit the courthouse-directly in front of it or take a ride on the steamship below the arch steps or visit the mural mile. One could make a full itinerary just in this location.
Neat piece of history remembering our past. The view is exciting for 5 minutes.
Impressive monument with a museum underneath. The ride to the top and the views out the observation windows are worth the wait!
Did it once. Will never do again. The museum was great, I'd give that 5 stars. The Arch itself is wonderful however, if you go on a busy day you spend a lot of time waiting to go up. It was super busy up top and borderline had to push and shove to get a window. The hard part for me was the pod you ride. 5 people in a tiny space. Glad I did it but once is enough for me!
It was a great place to go anyone traveling should check it out
I've been there several times. It's great except for the troublesome security check now and the exotic location of the entrance. What has our world come too now with all high traffic tourist sights needing to go to great lengths to keep out the bad guys.... Well it certainly shows that this world is getting more and more evil!! This world needs Jesus for their Savior!
This place is so awesome! It's family friendly and you will get a work out walking if you don't rent the scooters.
Love it...... Amazing view. Definitely a must see if you in the area
Nice view for visit in the evening. If you want to go to the top of the Arch them make sure to reach there before 5 pm.
Not terribly expensive, but parking is a bit of a pain. Nice exhibits in the museum.
Great experience, but not for those who don't like small spaces or crowds.
The arch speaks for itself, of you are not claustrophobic go to there top. Either way you will wander around a keep taking photos. The museum under the arch is very very good and worth 90 minutes for sure.
Cross country road trip and wanted to see this land mark it was truly amazing up close. We were not disappointed, the whole park and visitor center where enjoyable. Would recommend to anyone who visit the area to take the time to see it
One of the most beautiful and gigantic structure I have ever seen. Great piece of architecture. The tram ride gives you a beautiful view of the city and an unforgettable experience. The river view is really soothing and nice. The souvenir shops inside are very good. The making of arch is really interesting thing to read and to know. Its a perfect getaway for family and friends. The place is worth the visit at anytime in the year.
Cool museum with the history of the area and the Mississippi basin.
Definitely a must visit if you're in the area. A great engineering marvel. Ride to the top and get some great views of the city. The museum is pretty nice on the lower level as well.
We have nice view from the top of the arch. We can see whole city at one side and we can see water at other side. The basic cost to enter the top of arch is 16$.
Museum completed renovations recently. Museum is well worth the time. Didn't go to top or do the boat cruise. Movie hasn't changed much in 35 years. Best to make reservations before you arrive. The tram to the top was booked for two days out. Baseball game today may have been the reason. If there's a baseball game you can park at the Catholic church for $15. Otherwise you're not supposed to park there. The parking garage at the park has been torn down. Now you have to park in town.
Much more to the experience than I was expecting. Interesting museum and the tram to the top is an experience all its own. Better to go early and avoid some of the crowd.
It was good. There was a lot of construction at the time and it looks like when it will be finished it will be quite nice. Gives great views of the city to the west!
"elevator" to top of arch was crowded and bumpy, but considering going up/down on angle, was ok. View of St Louis and Mississippi River beautiful.
If are looking to overcome your claustrophobia or fear of heights visiting the Saint Louis Arch is for you. The museum is still under construction and renovation until July 3 2018. Great place to take your family. The park surrounding the arch is a wonderful place for a date, picnic or play frisbee. A must see of you are visiting or new to STL.
The place is beautiful. It's filled with so much history. I'm going to go back with my family.
Awesome place! Great welcome to st. Louis and u can take a elavader to the top of the arch it has a breathtaking view! There is a garden under the arch great for pictures too!
Absolutely worth with the trip! Beautiful area where you can take helicopter rides, bike, picnic, or boat along the river. My kids enjoyed just simply running and playing around on the plush grass
Great experience. Less than $40 for parking and tickets. Bought tickets onsite. Got there early. Maybe a 5 min wait before getting to go up top.
Great piece of American history! The tour was pretty cheap and the ride up is quite unique. We were able to stay up top as long as we liked. The tram runs every few minutes so once you decide to leave, the wait is minuscule. In the visitor center, they have a lot of info on the construction and a virtual view from the top for those who don't want to make the ride up.
We're so lucky we have this great national Park in our back yard. Great staff there and the renovations have really improved the experience.
Great museum even if you don't go into the arch. Very handicapped friendly museum. You will be screened to enter for safety.
Beautiful 63 stories historic place which was completed in 1965. There are horse carriage rides available, helicopter ride available.
Such an interesting place to visit. Definitely go to the top of the arch and see the view for yourself. It never gets old. Just hopefully you are not claustrophobic. Really cool experience and a definite place to go during your trip to St Louis. 4th of July Festival is amazing. Didn't know it was happening during my trip and was surprised and excited to find out about it.
Such a beautiful piece of architecture. Very clean and well maintained. They made a great effort to get people through the ticket wait lines. The combo price to go up the arch, museum and boat ride is a great deal. It was so well air conditioned, I went on a hot day and it was nice and cool inside, very clean and well laid out. I definitely recommend buying tickets online in advance though!
Was very busy the day we were there.... be sure to reserve tickets on ahead of time as they do sell out before the day is over. It was an awesome view from the top but was so crowded up there it kinda took away from the experience.
I have seen photos of the arch before, but it is amazing to see in person, I would recommend to anyone this is a must see American Symbol. While visiting with my family of 4 (wife and 2 girls) we took the tram ride to the top of the Arch, it was an experience I am glad we did, but there is no need to ever do it again, My wife had a hard time with the tram cars they are very small only 5 people to tram and we only had 4 in ours) and she had a hard time at the top, as it is a small observation space and a lot of people are up there. We also took the ferry ride along the Mississippi which was a nice ride, I would probably do that again. The museum at the base of the arch is free, though you must go through security there is a lot of information and interactive displays that both my wife and kids enjoyed, though we needed more time. We are all looking forward to coming back in the future.
I absolutely loved going to the top! It was a great experience! Our guide was funny and well informed. I would reccomend ordering your tickets online in advance instead of buying them there. The first time we went the tours were sold out when we tried to purchase tickets but it was also a holiday weekend. The second time we ordered online. Definitely worth the second trip!
Had a great time at The Gateway Arch. Purchasing tickets online was easy. Lots of parking nearby. The staff were all extremely professional, courteous, and helpful. The lines went fast and the rides up and down went very smooth. Thanks!
It's a pretty incredible monument. Once I got underneath, it was much bigger than what pictures and seeing it from a distance make it seem. The grounds were well maintained and the museum underneath had lots of good info. It seemed very well organized and maintained. You have to stop by and check it out if you are in the area.
Great place to visit.
Fantastic views.
