The Essence Suites Review

This was by far the worst room ever for the cost. Our room was not clean it had a terrible smell and the electric sockets were a death trap!! The refrigerator was filthy and so was the bathroom. My husband and I checked in at 7PM and we were gone by 8:30PM it was terrible and uncomfortable. I'll never be back and will never recommend to anyone a waist of $232.00

DONT STAY HERE room wasn t clean hot tub dirty... I booked the rose petal package and 2 hours early check in no set an room wasn t ready and they still charged me the 25$ for the set up an didn t refund my money wouldn t answer the phone or return my calls

Stereo didn't work, fridge didn't work (didnt realize until after I ate the reheated pizza and got food poisoning)
Dirt and nasty bug in tub, dirty walls, dirty doors (if you can't wipe down the walls and doors how am I supposed to believe your using clean sheets?) Air conditioning is TERRIBLE Woke up sweating 100 times from sweating.
Was told a manager would call. Hasn't happened yet.

I went for my birthday and the room was amazing...I really didn't want to leave...when my check out time came I paid for 4 more hours at 10 bucks every additional hour....not bad at all....I ABSOLUTELY loved my experience here and definitely will be back again

Went to this rathole the hot tub was still dirty we also had bugs in the room u can put all the makeup in the world on a pig but it's still a pig kind of like this place lure u in and it's garbage

As a sybaris customer, if you want to bring your b!tch here, it's perfect. But if you want to have fun and enjoy yourself with your loved one, spend that money and go to sybaris. Never again would i come back. It's cheap, lights didnt work, very dim. When i wake up i would like to gather my things without using a flashlight. Be careful when you get out the shower, steam room and hot tub, floors are slippery. I got free heart shape pizza an hour and half later because the front desk forgot to place my order. Small a$$ 20 inch tv. Bathroom is not appealing especially the pipe door. The owners could put something to hide that ugly pipe door. Grout needs to be done. To the owner, add redo grout on room 131 by the whirlpool and around the bed. If you had 2 sets of lighting you would notice that. One for the romance and one to actually see. Thank you never again.

I'm here 4/15/2018 for my baby birthday. She love this place. Price is right, nice and clean. She got in the hot tub and the steam shower. We'll definitely be back here. It's worth your money for the occasion.

For $240 a night I expected more.

Shower controls were stripped. Very hard to control the water temperature. Shower was very nice after spending 20 minutes to get the temperature so it wasn't scalding hot. Set off the fire alarm from the mist because I had the door open so I could breathe while I adjusted the temperature.

Shower - 3 stars.

Very basic but nice and large Hot Tub. Plug adjuster kept falling off. Moldy underneath.

TV was about 19" with a very bad reception. On some channels the picture got so light to the point you couldn't make out the pictures. Some channels had lines running through them. HBO and other channels had no volume.

Bed was uncomfortable. I have slept on worst but I didn't sleep very well. The Pillows were nice.

Ice machine had pre bagged ice. It was a older machine that just kept the ice cold. Liked the idea of bags to put the ice in the freezer but would rather the bags be an option besides an actual ice maker.

Mirrors everywhere made things interesting. Broken mirror above the bed. Also has a swing hook in ceiling.

Overall I had a nice night but it was more who I was with. The hotel seems very outdated. It hasn't been updated in years and it isn't kept up very well.

We had a couple of little issues with the room and the staff were quick to fix the problems. No place is always perfect, but the maintenance crew is constantly working to make this place even better. In fact, all of the staff was helpful and friendly.
The room was nice, the hot tub was wonderful, and the steam room surpassed wonderful!!! My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. The only real problem we had was that we didn't stay an extra couple of days!!
This was our first visit to Essence Suites, but it definitely won't be the last!!

I am thoroughly disgusted with this place. My husband planned a wonderful evening for us. I had never been here, and he surprised me with a stay. I, at first though it was amazing. Although we couldn't get the fireplace to turn on, the staff was cool about it, and extended our stay from 11AM til 1. My husband stated he saw a couple ants in the bathroom, but figured that was it. We awoke in the morning to ants all over our bed, and all over the night table. We jumped up in a panic, dressed, shook what we could, and got out of there. We went to the front desk, and the guy tried to insinuate that we did something wrong, and was nasty. I got upset, and left out and let my husband handle things. I will never visit this ant infested place again. He acted as if we brought the ants, but in reading past reviews, I see that this is a known issue that has not been handled. I am very angry, and highly upset that my get away was ruined. Thumbs down!!!

The photos on the website are very deceiving! The rooms look nothing like the photos on the website, and are very small. They advertise being a good place to celebrate an anniversary, but I didn't feel this to be true.
We walked in the room and it smelled heavily of marijuana (we were in a non smoking room). We looked around the room and there was what appeared to be a blood stain on the bed. The bathtub was visually dirty, and so was the area around the tub. We felt uncomfortable using anything in the room. The rooms are way overpriced for what they are.

I am giving 2 stars because we received a full refund and the staff were kind, otherwise I'd rate this place 1 star.

I don't recommend Essence Suites.

Not at all what I expected! For the price the rooms should be a lot nicer as far as presentation. Very outdated! I would not recommend if you want elegance. I only gave it 2 stars because the staff was nice. Sorry but I will not go there ever again.

Stayed here last weekend and I can absolutely say it was well worth the money. The staff gave great customer service, the room was clean, we had everything we needed and overall it was just beautiful. I will definitely be staying here again very soon... Its the ultimate getaway for a romantic night with your significant other

Me and my husband went to Essence for our wedding night. We had a great time. The room was clean and beautiful. We received a free heart shaped pizza which was delicious. The only issue we had was with our rude neighbors who played loud music most of the night. The only improvement I would say Essence should make is being more strict on the noise policy. We had to complain too many times at 3 am.. The manager was very nice about it. She gave us a small credit for the inconvenience. I would absolutely go back.

Came here for a quick getaway. Room was decent, but audio equipment is outdated. Had to complain about loud music coming from next door. Was told that they don't have a noise policy, and that they let people play their music as loud as they want during non-sleeping hours. At 12:30am the music was still going, it finally stopped and we were able to sleep until 4am when it started again! Called back to the front desk and was offered a late checkout...no thanks!
After reading the responses from management on other similar complaints, it sounds as though they are scripted and nothing will be done to accommodate the paying customers who are respectful of others right to peace. After all, we are ALL paying customers and majority should rule when it comes to noise levels. Either way, we will NOT be returning!!

As I stated in my review yesterday Jamie charged me double & caused $105 in overdraft fees I had immediately contacted management & was told it was my bank's fault. I recieved an email today from the owner wanting me to contact them again, I'm not wasting anymore time with essence inn, I am very disappointed in the with my visit.

We loved Essence Suite, didn't have to call the front desk for anything. Room was clean and suites looked just like the pictures online.The rooms were ever bit worth the price.

I went here for my anniversary and it was GREAT! The staff was very attentive and I loved the extra touches we could choose from to make it a better experience. Well worth the cost!!! I will definately recommend them to other couples i know for a nice get -a- way! Thanks for everything!

OMGGGGGGGG......THIS WAS A MUST NEEDED GETAWAY. THE ROOM WAS AMAZING AND THE RAIN SHOWER.....THERE'S NO WORDS FOR IT. YOU HAVE TO EXPERIENCE IT FOR YOURSELF. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ESSENCE SUITES.....YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT! GO AND CHECK IT OUT!

Clean rooms. Had a blast. Great weekend getaway!! Excellent location and a friendly staff.

The room was clean and it was indeed a romantic setting however the room is way smaller than pictured on the computer. Also our romantic evening was ruined by whoever else was next to us. Their music was blasting from 10pm all the way until check out the next morning at 11am, I got no sleep and could barely talk to my significant other because the bass of the music was so loud. I called the front desk and heard them talking to the people but they did not listen at this time it was 5 in the morning and I did not want to keep calling the front desk I figured I'd just stay up since I didn't sleep anyway. This was my first time here and it was a very bad experience. I am rating a 2 because the room was clean and romantic everything else was just terrible. While I know they can't control how people act, There needs to be more strict rules so people can actually enjoy and relax peacefully.

I don't know how this place even got to 3.8 star rating. If I could I would not rate any stars at all, this place is horrible and RATCHET!!!! I paid $270.00 (one night) for the "Super Essence Suite" (which is one of their best) Not even close to a "suite". Room was super small, smelt like cigarettes, looking like a motel ugly ass hell!!! My bf and I didn't even spend the night there NOT WORTH IT!!!!!!!! Thumbs downnnnnnnn

Not a review leaving type of person but this time I had too... First experience was amazing me and my boyfriend enjoyed it, our second recent one was absolutely disappointing. For a Tuesday 9 hr stay (5am-2pm) in the whirlpool suite we were charged $140 which was completely fine and accurate with us due to our hours... Then to find out 3 days later we got charged an extra $20 for i don't know what... I called to get feedback no answer.. Called again, no one was available... called again and they said they'd go over my paperwork and return my call with answers.... 2 days later no call returned.. So i called them again and they had our stay recorded for Monday (reason why they couldn't find our stay recored) and they eventually informed me that those $20 were charged because according to staff we checked out 2 hrs late which was completely false because my time was limited and I had somewhere to be after 2pm (I have proof, due to my location on my phone) and they went on that they were sorry that they could not do anything about it "according to them". Me and my boyfriend are completely disappointed as to their services and dissatisfied due to being charged the 2 hrs we did not even use and definitely don't plan on returning as well as not recommending this place to our friends any longer...

Worst stay ever,
The lady checking in was rude, on the phone not paying attention to me letting her know I had a reservation, the room was dirty, smelled bad. The towels where nasty. Everything was falling apart.

It was nice even tho I thought the room would be bigger. But it was still nice and clean. The electrics can use a upgrade but it was nice.

Our stay was great. We always enjoy ourselves. The husband was once again put to sleep after the first hot tub.

I visit and left a review about this establishment Months prior to this talk to a manager named Jay and he said he would accommodate us with a free room for the bad experience and bad customer service prior to this I already had 4 hours accredited. In my account which I did not use on my last visit. so today I called to book my room for SundayAnd was told I only have a $50 credit Wow ! So then mentioned my 4 hours that I have up there As accredited time as well and was told now it's only 2 hours this is absolutely Ridiculous I was told something that wasn't Honored Please take The time to look at my last review and give me a call

Racist workers at the Essence Suits. On my 13th Anniversary, I decided to surprise my husband with a romantic stay at the Essence Suit in Orland Park. On September 2, 2018 I walked into the Essence Suit location to do an early check in that I was given because it was our anniversary. When I walked in, I gave my information and explained that I was there for an early check in. The agent at the desk told me that I was there too early, and that I was down for complementary pizza and not an early check-in. She said I can have one or the other but not both. I opt for the early check in. The agent than picks up the phone and calls House keeping. In Spanish, asked if the room was clean,then said well take your time, because she thinks that she getting early check in and not. Although I do not have the " Look" of an traditional Hispanic, Spanish is my first language. Immediately, I asked for a supervisor,but it was a Sunday and none were available. I start talking in Spanish, asking her why would she tell them that. She said so what if I did and call the police on me.On, September 4th after the labor Holiday. I called and spoke with Jignesh Patel the General Manager. He explained that she 's only been there for 6 months and that he would offer us a free complementary room for our experience. When, I called this morning October 1, to use the complementary stay. I was told that I can have half off and there wasn't any notation about my experience. The manager didn't even remember talking to me. They also told me, that the agent that made the comment, didn't feel safe if I came. Some how, she made her self to be a victim of this situation.

Essence suites was a very nice suite. Clean room. Clean jacuzzi. Clean steam shower. The bed was very comfortable. I definitely enjoyed my stay. I recommend staying a night here forsure. The price was just right as well. 10/10 for me.

The staff was very helpful that did a excellent job. Suite was setup with everything. I will be back soon love everything about it. I would recommended to anyone go try it yourself.

My husband and I had a room for one night it was the worst night ever it was my husband s birthday February 26 the room was not clean the microwave was dirty the refrigerator was dirty the Jets were letting out particles in the water The sheets on the bed was dirty my husband reported it immediately to the front desk the girls at the front desk was very apologetic that s great and all but he doesn t speak about our money we left immediately we want a refund.

Worst getaway that you can imagine!!!! Stay away!!!!
Tried to celebrate our 15 years anniversary of marriage with my wife when everything was interrupted by cops after 2 hours of stay.... Needed to pack our stuff in 5 min in order not to get handcuffed. Staff complained about loud music while we were in steam room but no warning was given. Business is business, room was re-booked 2 hours after we paid 250+$ for overnight stay with no refund and manager Patel refused to reveal any proof of videos if warnings was given... For some reason was able to hear cops knocking doors..... Asked pair of people next door if they heard anything-answer was no :) P.S before checking in have decibel meter with you to make sure you are not to loud there. Stayed there about 6 months ago and complained about black hair left in bathtub so I imagine that was a payback :)

Me and my spouse loved the stay. We got the whirlpool suite decent for the price but we made it special. Loves the robes and champagne glasses. Also there is a place about 5 minutes away by the mall called texas de brazil very good place to eat around the hotel

Worst place ever!!!! Doesn t even deserve 1 star. I give it a negative 5 stars! Never again will I book at this place. Customer Service is horrible and rude. I have a medical condition that requires a service dog who is certified and NOT a pet. ADA laws require any facility to allow service animals and without mine i run the risk of endangering my life. I carry all his certification and a letter from my dr that he is required to be with me at all times. Pets aren t allowed but SERVICE ANIMALS ARE NOT PETS!!!! Read the ADA LAWS and I hope you are more accommodating to any future guests with medical conditions that require one. Not that I would recommend this business to anyone else regardless if they have a medical condition or not! See the law from the ADA website below.

Rainhead missing from steam shower. Water sprayed everywhere and made a mess. Controls for the temperatures need to be fixed/adjusted. Bed and pillows were uncomfortable. Needs a seating area besides the bed(infront of fire place would be great) Room clean (well, except the ants), but amenities need some TLC.

Room next to us was blasting music for like 3 hours

We had the suite with loveseat. The room was nice for the price. The location is great literally close to everything, restaurants, grocery/liquor store, malls, and dollar stores. Housekeeping could clean better.The only issue I had was a insect(baby spiders) problem. But maintenance came and sprayed insect spray as soon as I called. Fireplace kept making a loud popping noise. Other than that place is okay.

Rooms are nice, staff sucks and over the years I ve been to essence many times and my suggestion is once you pay for you room try to block the staff out unless you really really need something. Also if it was my business I would have an exterminator on duty 24 hours a day 365 days because of this ants ..... In any business it s all about service and as a business owner myself I know how hard it is to find good help, but at the same time if they re are being lazy and disrespectful to guests that s messing with your bottom line and you need to terminate immediately and keep looking till you find the right people . It was totally outdated my husband and I was just completely disappointed. The Essence is charging to much money for that place to look like that. And if nothing else get a better house cleaning stuff to keep the rooms clean. No one wants to go to a dirty room.

My husband got me a room here as a surprise for my birthday and I must say I had incredible experience..

My Fiance and i checked in Feb 19th 2021, immediately noticing the speaker didn't work, we called for someone to come in and check it out. The gentleman they sent came in our room without a face mask on, and when we brought it to his attention he became very defensive, saying he wasn't sick and didn't have Covid. Needless to say, the speaker didn't get fixed...we then ordered a pizza, and decided to go for seconds a while later, only to discover our food and the box completely covered with ANTS! We were disgusted and decided we were going to leave, especially since they said they couldn't accommodate us with another room. Days later and we're having a hard time getting refunded for the horrible few hours we had in the room, considering we paid for a two night stay...DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL

Husband booked a non-smoking room but when we got to the room, it smelled like pot. Was it the cleaning person? Because if it was the last visitors, you would think the cleaning person would air the room out. The room needs so much updating. If you re going to charge $260 a night, it should be nicer. The mirror had some weird stain to it, the edges around the bed were torn, the TV was so old and small that you couldn t watch it. Does anyone wipe off the shelves by the extension cord on the side? The bed was hard as rocks. The back of the white couch needs to be cleaned -Clorox wipe should do it. There is so much heat coming from behind the fridge that you don t need to have the heat on. Will never stay here again.

My husband and I went here for our anniversary. It was extremely nice we will definitely be coming back soon. We went whit the basic suite ,and it was more than what we expected and the tub was much bigger than what we imagined absolutely worth it.

It was really nice I enjoyed it. But when we walked in it had a strong smell of weed the fire detector was on the back of the toilet.. there was black stuff on the fitted sheet on the bed assuming it was ash from smoking. We did see small bugs. It was relatively clean. But half of your staff was rude not all but for what you pay for the room be a little nicer.

I think it's time to update this place. The TV was terrible line in the screen couldn't watch most stations. Refrigerator was junk made all kinds of noise. The jets in the hot tub fell off. Wasn't the cleanest. Didn't appreciate having to call the desk on numerous occasions due to the fact the music was so loud in the suite two over our room was vibrating. Don't see myself going back very dissappointed.
