Saw a band on Saturday night. Was good night , nice beers on tap and good mix of crowd.

A old favourite. Good food and plenty beers, both craft as well a plenty from the homeland. Well worth a visit if you're Irish, English, Welsh, or Scottish.

Inside and outside dining and drinks. Good food, generous portions. Excellent location in town. Friendly service. Recommended for casual dining or quick drink with friends.

Great range of beers, it's a great meeting place but the food is pretty pedestrian.

Great pub loads of choice for food and drinks fast service had a lovely roast dinner it was delicious.

Staff were wonderful. Roast lamb overdone as was the Yorkshire pud. Spuds ok, nothing special. Other vegs well cooked but cold. But, as I said the staff couldn't have been more attentive, more pleasant, more fabulous. For them, I'd go back & maybe not eat

Went to E & W for a Christmas function with former work colleagues. The food provided was tasty, and adequate beers and wines.

Not a single elephant or wheelbarrow in sight. Also the pints are dear as poison.

Amazing atmosphere and fast service at 10pm on a Friday night

Do not eat the roast dinner it's like the meat has been left there for weeks and all discoloured. It's not a roast dinner it's like a load of left over food thrown together.
They gave me a refund without giving a fuss so I gave it two stars for that.

Food was good but was priced high but considering the quantity they provide it can be justified. Only Quantity of food is more than one can finish which leads to food wastage. I found it really hard to finish my food but i did whereas others around me left food on their plates.

Cool atmosphere, friendly staff. The steak and Guinness pie was quite nice!

Staff friendly. Quick service when we needed it pre show. Large portions of food. Steak pie was best of our choices. Sadly carpets gave off damp smell which was off putting. Found stall in corner that was ok. Music was loud and fast beat. Became irritating by the time we were done eating.

A great bar with excellent service and atmosphere. The locals know this and after work this bar fills with patrons and quickly. Indoor and outdoor seating options available.

Very friendly staff, reasonable beer selection. Would like to see more choices of British beer on tap and in bottle. Notable absence was Newcastle Brown Ale. PS. Can I have your Newcastle Brown Ale framed mirror.

Fabulous live music on Thursday night, worth stopping in for a drink or three!

Couldn't get served at the bar not that busy on a Comedy Festival Night. Was totally ignored by 3 bar tenders made me feel like Elephant man..

Lovely homely English themed pub has HB sauce and daily specials like bangers and mash, stake, English fish and chips, etc

Great place to catch up with friends have a cold beer and eat a bit.

They took the $10 chicken schnitzel burger off the menu when I was there on Friday, got an Hawaiian pizza and there was no flavour to it, otherwise great place for a drink.

An excellent tradition English bar.
A good selection of drinks and great food.
The staff are always friendly and prompt with the service.
Would definitely reccomend to anyone looking for a casual drink or something to eat.

Homely pub with tasty fare and friendly staff. And on the second Tuesday of the month you can find the Puzzled Pint being hosted on the first floor

Proper pub food with massive portions. The hand cut chips, nice as they were, could be cut smaller. They were literally quartered potatoes.

Unfortunately the law change around smoking and eating has negatively effected the mood of the outdoor area here. Perhaps management should consider reserving half of the outdoor area at least for those who like a cigarette with their pint.

Never leave a credit card on a tab behind bar. They tried to charge us for drinks we never consumed. Manager backed down when challenged. Beware

Stake sandwich had a piece of stake that was so thin it was nearly transparent. Staff too busy chatting with each other. Over priced.

I usually love this place for great value steaks, but lately they seem to be buying really cheap low quality cuts. Couldnt even eat the last one, was like cutting into rubber. Strike 1 for me

Disappointed. Didn't have the correct booking, didn't have us up stairs, no bar service upstairs and food was undercooked and cold.

Bloody gorgeous sausage and mash with fresh veggies from a true english gal. The only thing i would say is your decor is so in your face english hahaah, typical pubs dont have the london underground maps all over them hahaha

Its ok, as other reviews have said, the tables ate quite close together. Food is just ok, standard pub food i guess.

Beer selection good, chose an expensive wine for dinner then food was poor, tough roast, vegies undercooked. A disappointing visitor experience
