Came here for an early dinner on a Sunday and didn't have any problems finding a table. As another reviewer had said the tables are pretty close together on the ground floor so it's a fair bit cosy.

I ordered the chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce, mash potato and peas. I was a bit disappointed with the lack of peas but the size of the schnitzel was decent size, well cooked and tasty. My wife had the tart that she described as ok but not great.

Overall we had a decent experience.

No ANZAC Special at this dive.

No ANZAC Special at this dive.

Possibly the worst 'pub' Angus Burger I've ever purchased. Dry, dark, cold.
Told counter staff. "Err... Ok. I'll tell the cook'. Pathetic.

Not recommended.

Doesn't give that authentic feel I think they try to create but still a nice pub. Had the classic roast Beef with Yorkshire Pudding, very poor, basic pudding to make and should have nailed it. Sorry definitely not recommend.

I went there with a party of friends for a birthday get together at their advertised Over 28's "Wham Glam" retro night.

Staff.
Friendly and helpful.

Pub.
A great looking pub with a fantastic layout. exactly like a Traditional British pub.

Event Venue at rear.
Again, a great looking pub with a fantastic layout. a decent sized dance floor, and ample seating for relaxed moments.

Food.
The bar menu is great. Tasty food at a sensible price.

Drinks.
A great choice and respectable prices.

So Overall, for a Pub, it certainly ticks all the boxes so why did I only offer 2 stars?

The Pub, and the function room stank... it was bad, and I can only describe it as a mixture of stale vomit and a disinfected peep show booth. Which, when you are ordering a meal before an evening of dancing, is really off putting!

The advertised over 28's Glam night... I think they need to get a new DJ, With all the latest unknown dance anthems, a glam night this most definitely wasn't, although their resident band done a great job, pity they didn't stay on stage while the DJ was sacked!

What a total let down to the point of leaving less than 1 and 3/4 hours after arriving. to go to a known venue that ticked all the same boxes and more. (Bar94 in Swan Street, Richmond).

If you really are not fussed, then the place has potential for an average night out, but if you want a great memory, I'd steer well clear of this place.

Sizable venue in the heart of the city. Pleasant staff, tasty menu, and competitive prices. Plenty of public transport options. Alternatively there's paid parking available nearby. The pub is generally busy, and can be popular with groups. A good meeting spot but if you're looking for quiet and intimate then this may not be the ideal option.

Really good service, quick, clean and nice environment. We enjoyed our food and our drinks.

Try the wedges, totally recommend. Fun and tonic was not cheap but was very good. The staff are friendly and the toilets are clean.

All round a good night

I came here for a MICF show, the show was good and the pub itself is okay. It's one of only a few traditional English pubs in the city, but it's a bit more of a townie English pub than a particularly nice one. All the usual English / Irish subjects are here in terms of beer (in an English pub in Australia)... Otherwise, nothing particularly interesting beer wise which is a bit of a shame.

We were having a nice night however after about 3/4 drinks we got told my partner was to intoxicated and was asked to leave, we were given no explanation as to why they had come to this conclusion and we were on and table just myself and him talking between ourselves. It was very rude and abrupt so will not be returning, it compleatly ruined the night and the mood. The manager at the bar was extremely rude and used very foul language towards other customers

Terrible terrible experience. Ordered our food at 6:20pm and by 7pm still no food, when we went to complain they had "lost" our order. We had a show to go to at 7:30pm, so couldn't even wait for our food to be cooked as they said it would take 20mins!. Ended up having to go to a 2 hour show with no dinner. Pathetic!!!!

Very busy so hard to find a seat. Service was great. Good range of beer. Food was good first time I went there but for second visit the food was really poor. I like the place so I may try one more time.
