Had a lovely day, well managed, worth the money, The food in the cafe was lovely and good value for money
A friendly relaxing place to visit, the food was VERY tasty, most decidedly worth a visit as found it very educational as well
Good for the smaller ones. Nice to be able to go round as many times as you like. Annual ticket is a bonus too.
Great for a family day out. Picnic facilities outside and inside. Shame about the independent car park charges outside. Inside the deep the big/small fish attractions are great. Best time to go would be just after 10:30 am
I enjoyed every minute of it except getting out of Hull and home
The greatest place on earth for fish and chips, nowhere has such variety. Simply point out what you want from the huge tank and enjoy.
Excellent well maintained aquarium, great staff, parking at the doors and entry tickets come with a 12 month free pass.
Love taking our daughter here and good value you for money too
A great place to spend a couple of hours for fun or education.
I've been taking my daughter here for a few years now and she loves it. Buy a "day plus" ticket and you can return as often as you wish for 12 months for free.
There's sharks, rays, swordfish, turtles and penguins, together with a wide range of fish including pirhana, clown fish (nemo) and unicorn fish.
There's an area inside with tables and chairs to eat your own packed lunches as well as a cafe and gift shop.
A Fantastic place to visit with loads to see, interactive stations for the younger ones to get involved. All the tanks are fascinating with fish from all over the world. There is a childrens play area and a small snack area and a nice cafe with good food at reasonable prices. All in all a fantastic day out.
Popular place , has glass walled lift that passes by the tanks do it before it gets too busy. Value for money all round and ticket good for 12 months of access.
Really fun aquarium. Packed full of things to do. Spent hours in there!
A bit disappointing wasn't that mutch to see, walked round in 1hr 30 minutes also took same length of time to get there.
This was our first trip to The Deep with our 3yr old son. What a fantastic place with brilliant exhibits. Lovely, reasonably priced food and souvenirs. We will return
will have to go when bit more quieter as couldn't get close enough to see much due to prams in the way
Good family day out. Expected more, very little interaction. Very heavy on education. Very nice food and lots to see.
Absolutely fantastic you can get up close to the animals and almost feel welcomed into their habitat as you look through the glass windows...
Great for kids, lots of interaction. Thought the main tank at the end was a bit of an anticlimax, not much of a tunnel. Also the big queues for the lift at the end aren't great. My advice, take the stairs, you'll see more.
Brilliant shows and one of the best attractions in hill very interesting and good gift shop and if u buy a ticket even just a regular one you can go there with that ticket every day if you wanted to all year so if you are ever in Hull I suggest you drop by and check it out
Excellent displays - a very welcome and relaxing day out...
Just thought the whole experience was amazing . Fantastic staff, who couldn't be more helpful and good value food in the restaurant. The fish and aquatic life are so beautiful
Fantastic and interesting. Also you get free entry for a year.
Great place to take the grandchildren. Lots of information and a good price.
Fabulous..loved it..informative & fun for kids..good options & good price in the cafe ...!!
Fantastic place, educational and fun, something for everyone from little ones to their grandparents.
Great place to visit young and old. First time was when daughter was young this time was with granddaughter for first time she loved it as much as her mam does
We visited on the last Saturday of the month, so being after payday, expected it to be busy. It was very busy, with about half the visitors with push chairs which made for an unpleasant journey through the installation. The route down hill is narrow most of the time and is entirely too small. Many areas where poorly lit, little thought had gone into parents keeping an eye on their toddlers and young children, squeezing through adults , and keeping track of our three year old was definetetly a task for 2 parents. The content falls into three categories, displays, fish/fauna and play. The displays are a little dated and not really 21st century, with buttons not working properly or at all on 10-20%, the fish displays were adequate but by no means exceptional. In all I thought the layout of the whole aquarium was poorly conceived and felt a bit like being at an Ikea store, being hearded from start to finish without any flexibility in the route. Maybe good in concept but in reality our 3 year old got tired before the end and we where stuck behind 200 people to get out. Fortunately a member of staff allowed a group of parents with young children to exit though a emergency door. The play area was just a standard play area with little theme relating to the the aquarium. All in all I was disappointed with my visit. We have been to several other aquariums, London and Scarborough, and found that the experience was better in both cases. I would say that the aquarium visit experience would be far better in an off peak period, but would definitely advise to stay clear in peak school holidays. Arrive early at the opening if possible or after 3. The other positive aspects of the aquarium, if you live locally ish is that the entrance gives you 12 months access. My daughter did get something positive from the visit, but I would not go again unless in term time, first thing in the morning. The cafe has tasty food at reasonable prices (but by no means cheap).
My son loves the deep. Always has great experiences on every visit
Lovely few hours out, my little girl loves it here.
Great place but the queue to get in was ridiculous and the staff did nothing to help apart from try to sell you stuff....even though it is "for conservation not profit".
Really interesting place
Suitable for family to visit
One of the best places to visit with kids. Educational and exciting. The restauraunt food looked lovely. Will eat there on next visit. You get a pass which lasts a year so you can revisit
Great price/value and much better than sealifes we have been before. Recommendable for all ages. It has an initial educational part which is very interesting for school kids onwards and it has a soft play area later on that is great for toddlers.
The Deep is a magnificent addition to Hull and is held in high regard with the local populace (myself included). They've done a great job of re-homing various marine life to conserve life and educate the public on the ever-changing world. The only downside is it's only a trip you can do maybe once a year or you'll bore yourself to death with each trip. To counter this, it'd be good to see more added to the aquarium.
Excellent value pay entry fee includes 1 year access. Wide variety of sea life
Well worthwhile pop in this place !!! Kids love it !!
Free Entry for Military personnel just show your Mod90, can't complain for a free day out. As expected prices at the cafe half way around are high but in all good and clean with plenty to look at and interact with.
It's great now they have more penguins and 2 new turtles :)
Great place to go with the family, great staff but a little bit of a free for all!
Had a great time, wasn't too expensive and our tickets last for a year so will definitely be returning
A little underwhelmed by my visit, we had walked round it all and seen everything in under an hour, however it is obviously very popular from seeing how busy it was, however was expecting a bit more for our money. Very disappointed towards the end while queuing for the underwater elevator, a member of staff pointed to a door and told us if we went through to the stairs it would be exactly the same view, we went through the door looking for the stairs but found it was the exit and not what she'd said, the only stairs where back to the start of the exhibit where we couldn't get back in, we went back to the door she'd told us to come through and asked but we was told that we'd gone though the exit and couldn't get back in to go in the underwater elevator. Very good that the money raised goes into conserving our oceans as this is an extremely important issue.
Very nicely organized museum with an interesting collection of fishes and other aquatic life in various aquaria. The information also goes beyond this with quite some explanation on geology and (deep) sea diving. The tour ends with a marvellous view on the main aquarium. Count on about 2h for the visit.
Teally good and a years ticket free. Really good value
Really well thought out. Great for people with restricted mobility. Free parking for blue badge holders. Restaurant good value for money. Plenty of places to sit down. Thought the penguin exhibit could have been a bit bigger but loved how it was visible on 2 different levels. Great fish stock. Will be using our 12 month passes again, for sure.
Great place, great value, pay once then you get admission for a year
Great aquarium. Expensive for a single visit but my ticket can be used for the year
Good place to take the kids for a while. Plenty of fish to see. Canteen for a cuppa.
Disappointing the amount of sea life only takes a short time to walk around
Brilliant place to spend a few hours with our grandson.
Well worth a visit. Pay on the day go back as much as you like for a year
Great parking, staff can't do enough to help you & great value for money kids love it
Good afternoon out takes about 3 hours with food which is a good price
Brilliant and they have activities in kids holidays my two loved the sand art and staff were brilliant love this place
Been going there since it opened. They are some stations that don't work, this is frustrating for my boys. The picnic area is good and saves a bit of cash.
Still love the tanks. Cant wait till the penguins are back.
Good but lots of the interactive exhibits were broken
Little on the expensive side but we had a full morning here
Amazing aquarium well worth visit staffand facilities high standard and variety of fish and sea creatures really good
Brilliant.
I went with the beavers, amazingly they let us sleep over, literally sleeping with the fishes! I'll take that part out of my review.
The exhibits were beautiful, well described, in great condition, varied and interesting. Not only fish, they have reptiles, jellyfish sharks & the best ant display I've ever seen.
The staff there were easy to listen to and very knowledgeable.
The cafe (we had dinner and breakfast there) serves good food, they use minimal plastic stuff. About as far from the usual cafe in a place like this cafe as you can get.
We like aquariums, the deep is right up there with the best ones I've ever been to. I'll definitely be coming back with the family.
Great place, plenty of intelligent and enthusiastic staff, many interesting specimens. Sadly there are so many school children, my eardrums were nearly perforated after two hours. Next time I'll ring in advance to avoid busy times, or bring some noise cancelling head phones, and an ipod full of classic fm. Thanks all!
