Myself (25) and my boyfriend (28) went to The Deep as a weekend outing on a rainy Sunday afternoon and we absolutely loved it.

Found it a little strange that they ask to take your picture, we thought maybe it was some gift shop picture opportunity but unfortunately not. We were given a ticket so not sure what this was about.

We found this place to be a lot bigger and better than we anticipated. My boyfriend loves aquariums and we have to say this is way better than the Sealife Centre in Scarborough.

The penguins were great although we were slightly concerned at how small their 'enclosure' was but I guess it meet standards or it wouldn't be open (at least I hope not).

I didnt like the dark dinosaur type bit, I have anxiety and the dark along with the (in my opinion) creepy exhibits set my anxiety off and I had to rush through this bit which was a shame.

That is my only criticism.

A great day for couples and families of all ages.

A great rainy day out activity.

Not it's not the big place in Orlando but for a UK aquarium it utterly fills me with delight each time I visit.
Great quality food at the restaurant although the seating is a bit canteen inspired.

The fish seem depressed and a bit down about the whole situation. So do the penguins. Poor fishies stuck in a tank. Should be out in the big ocean with their friends! Full of children as well, avoid if it's half term and leave 'em to it!

Fantastic place I cant believe it's been in hull for so many years and I've only just visited well twice this month. 100% recomend It the only thing i have to say is i was with my disabled friend who is in a wheel chair so has to use the lift but had a problem with the small lift te one u have to push the door open anyway both times we have been the door dont close properly I had to grip the top of the door to close it as is sticks also when people get out at the bottom it dont close properly so people at the top are waiting ages it was only the first time we used it I realised my friend was in a queue to use the lit I went wondering down stairs then realised she was a long time so went to check it out and that's when we found out the door wasnt shut it sticks apart from the perfect day out

After reading some reviews we were a bit apprehensive about visiting in the school holidays however we made sure we arrived early and managed to park with ease. The queues were reasonable and it didn't feel overcrowded inside. Will definitely return!

Absolutely fantastic experience. Even with covid measures in place, there's plenty of room and the displays are really impressive. Well worth a visit. Note that parking isn't free, and the queue for the cafe can get a bit long but the actual aquarium is amazing and the staff are doing an amazing job given the measures they have to put in place.

Me and my family got free enter as I'm in the forces so for us it was great. Lots to see there and the staff actually seem to know what they are talking about and generally seemed like they cared and enjoyed their jobs. There was a wedding happening when we was there which I didn't know the deep done but interesting to know they did. Large tanks and many fish to see. Great for the kids to see. Would definitively return

This is a great museum for older children. I use the word museum as there is lots to learn, in loads of fun ways but the aquarium side isn't as good as others we've been to. There is still plenty of fish and penguins to see however when you first get there there is a long time of walking until you actually see any fish. This is why it's great for older children. My daughter was 2.5 years and she was very bored. I think this is better for around age 8 and upwards to fully appreciate everything that is there. It was very expensive for us to go and look and a small number of fish as that's all my daughter wanted to do. I would return, but when she's older.
It is a really good, and there are still lots of species to see, I just think for the hype that people make it out to be, we've been to better aquarium that have more fish

Could talk all day about how good this place is but very simply it's got to be visited and seen to be appreciated, very seldom do I come across somewhere that's got just about everything for all ages my kids loved it , but maybe not as much as me!

Too expensive you can b around it in an hour ok that ticket allows return visits in a year but I feel it's not worth it when you can spend simlar amount of money at other family attractions and b them for half a day if not a full day

Staff were enthusiastic and knowledgeable and the fish etc were beautifully presented and looked after. Not convinced about the penguin enclosure however as personally I think its a bit small. I last visited 10 years ago and the visual aids ( projections etc) have not kept up with technology and are dated/ worn out . However the kids there seemed to love the deep and that's what its all about in the end . Overall would still recommend a visit .

Went with university for an assignment, was great fun, especially the rays which we watched getting fed. Some of the animals have real character, such as the zebra shark who likes to get very up close and personal with divers, and one of the rays who always swims against the glass before a feed (got some great videos and photos)

Very fun visit, had a great time looking at all the animals, especially the penguins! Could get quite close to them which was nice. Prices weren't terrible and the ticket is valid for the whole year. It was interesting and entertaining!

The place was well run and very good but it seemed like it was trying very had to seem like a large attraction when most of it is posters and models, not fish tanks! One large tank viewed from several levels and angles. It's a great for half a day out but just didn't live up to expectations.

A good day out. Play area for small children, restraints in house and near by.

The ticket price seems high but it does offer you the opportunity return at any time within a year so on that basis if you're local it's great value.

All profits help towards research and conservation so even better!

Great day out! Disappointed with the disabled toilet facilities, although the disabled tables at the cafe are higher so u can just fit under with ease. Great day out for the family n buy the family ticket n you can keep going back for the year!

Great place. To start with you get a year ticket. Staff at reception is very helpfull and friendly. Its an educational place where lots can be learnt. We had lovely staff during our visit to point out species we didnt notice and had lovely conversation with students that works there

Very disappointing, food at best was average. I had the salmon and mackeral starter which was alright, although some bread and butter would have been pleasant to go with it. The oriental chicken was dreadful, nothing like it's description. I don't think it had been near any flavourings, tasted like over boiled chicken. The rice had never been near a soy sauce bottle. It was pure stodge that looked as though it had had gravy added to it. I didn't bother with dessert due to the rest of the food being disappointing. We did tell the waiting staff how dreadful it had been but nobody bothered coming to see us

Went their for a christmas meal. Had a great atmosphere and great staff and the food was beautifully presented and tasted great. A general visit round the deep is fantastic offering a wide variety off sea creatures. Great full day experience for family's or couples

Four stars cos the food is ridiculously priced as well as the gift shop but what's new with these type of places?!
Other than that it was a really good day out! My 18 month old loved pointing and watching the creatures.
There were no mum and baby parking spaces which was quite annoying, so we struggled to get the baby out of the car with no bumps! Nj

Love this aquarium. Great value and brilliant to see rare Saw Fish. I would recommended Tuesdays/Thursdays where the divers clean the tank and turtles. Take your time and avoid bank holidays/school holidays if possible. Reasonable cafe and gift shop

So disappointing. Walked through the main entrance to the aquariums and was hit by a wall of noise. There was a "talk" by the main pool with the volume turned up to 11, so you couldn't hear yourself think. The whole place is just one massive echo chamber. Impossible to actually enjoy the amazing main tank
