The deep is a wonderful aquarium that Hull, that the UK, can be proud of. Informative but fun, we took our daughter when she was was one and she lived the colours and the ambiance. We took her back when she was two and she was fascinated by everything there was to see. You can get free return in the year and it makes the price really good value. The cafe at the top of the building has wonderful views and the sausage sandwiches are both good value and delicious.
Our one gripe is at the exit, having gone to the top of the building at the start of the visit you make your way down through the exhibits to get to the big tanks at the bottom. All of a sudden you are faced with either a queue for a lift to the top or a set of stairs to get back to the third floor only to then have to take a lift back down. However, that is not the gripe, the gripe is that there is no indication that the lift is glass backed and the view as you ascend the very large tank is spectacular!!! We didn't do it the first time as our daughter was getting fidgety but on our return we had time...all I can say is that we missed out the first time.
Good value, excellent presentations and a lovely Hull welcome. In short - brilliant.

Went with 8 month old and was perfect. Reasonably priced if you're going to revisit within a year as unlimited re entries. Good picnic area although could imagine it being very busy on a weekend.

We really like The Deep and go quite a lot. It's a little bit expensive as you're not in that long but the exhibition quality is very good, and now enhanced by penguins, which we love! Take a picnic, be prepared to queue on entry, but overall, a good value morning or afternoon out for sea life lovers.

A wonderful venue with loads of really interesting exhibits - it was easy to use up the four hour parking. However, I had the misfortune to visit at the same time as at least five school parties so the experience was spoiled by a continuous stream of horrendous noise and jostling, couldn't hear any of the video footage at all. It would be good to have certain school-free time slots or to limit how many groups can visit at the same time.
Had the fish and chips in the cafe and have to say it was a bit grim.

Its great for kids, like mine, who are fascinated by sealife. Lots of interactive games dotted aeound plus great talks from knowledgable staff. The food is very expensive though so i'd suggest taking advantage of the picnic area and bringing your own though...

An absolutely amazing place to visit with plenty of different sea creatures to see.
We did get the chance to watch a live talk with one of the staff members who told us about the different fish in the tank behind him and gave a bit of colour to their stories which was nice!
The only thing that I had to knock a star off for was crowds! The place is quite narrow and with loads of people crammed into spaces it made the experience a bit more stressful.
Would be better I think to have timed visits or a limit on entry for each hour as it felt claustrophobic.

Brilliant for everyone of all ages. My 17 month old loved looking at the penguins and all the different fish along with some of the interactive aspects. Very informative and fun and would recommend taking the lift at the end of the 'tour'

I really really really love this place and the information and the fish that's that's really cool and a great place for kids I just wish they stop changing things and maybe more reaction with the actual fish etc I would go a lot more but it is so expensive I wish places like this with drop their prices a bit and I'm sure it would attract more people

Underwhelming in my opinion. Crowded, loud and far too many interactive (but mostly not working) stations. There are two tanks. One is very lovely. Beautiful corals and fish. The other tank is home to sharks, sawfish and turtles. Problem there.... you are not able to see the dimensions of the tank. You can okay see the fish in there in one of the many small windows... if you can get past screaming children and parents who are not supervising them and do not know how to turn off the flash of their cameras. The underwater tunnel is far to short and crowded too. Could not see anything. For the money all in all I expected more actual fish and less reading about or pictures of fish. Would not recommend it. Very disappointed.

Great time out but only for a few hours at the most, being able to go back as many times as you want within 12 months is a nice touch, on site food was average but did the job.
Be warned this place gets ridiculously busy and I would highly recommend going early to avoid the ques.

Awesome place shame about 1 of your colleagues treating my other half like a child and embarrassing her lady with the short red hair needs sorting out as it's made us not want to comeback in all fairness my other half was told not to tap on the glass even though she was actually pointing at one of the animals but your colleague jumped to conclusions and came across quite aggressive anyways we might come back one day.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable short break in Hull where we visited The Deep twice. The staff were extremely informative and my 3 year old boy was in his element asking lots of questions which they answered. I really thought they went above and beyond, especially Jonny who was just fantastic. We are already looking forward to our next trip again soon.

Just visited for a third time and found it just as interesting. Very good for children to learn about conservation as well as seeing wonderful creatures in the sea. See my video on YouTube ... chaldon2view "The Deep" ... taken May 2019.

A good half-day out with lots of aquariums and a good variety of fish and animals, take your time going round and make sure you don't miss bits out, its easy to rush through and miss the details. The penguins have to be a personal favourite for entertainment.
The Deep also offer a ticket with an annual pass option at no extra cost, so if you visit often its fantastic value for money.

This is such an amazing place to take the kids. At first I thought I had been fooled when I walked into a long corridor with no actual fish. However, this was clearly a ruse as it was shortly followed by a huge selection of fish, penguins and even ants!
One of the best aquarium's we've been to in a long time and the price you pay for a year it is very good value for money.

Overpriced.

Overpriced.
Too many people allowed in.
More videos/pictures than fish.
Dirty eating areas.
Not impressed.
