Rooms and service were what you should expect at a hotel, but the complimentary amenities left much to be desired for the price. Location was close to waterfront, downtown, and many restaurants.

My wife and I came here for a company work party on 12/13 and arrived at 4pm check-in time. It was soooooo busy, but the whole check-in process was simple.

Our room was really nice and clean. The details in this place are beyond anything I ve ever seen! I mean look at how they even made a unique design with the toilet paper in the bathroom! We would definitely come here again!

Our only complaint is that the water in the shower was lukewarm even though we had hot water everywhere else (hence the 4-star rating).

I'm so disappointed in the Davenport. I spent the night in a very nice, fairly expensive room. It was fantastic, however, the Davenport gave my information to a vacation package company, and I am contacted by them at least once a week. Shame on you Davenport. I will not stay with you again for fear you'll sell off more of my private information.

I've stayed here several times over the years. Everything is grand, polished, and professional -every time. It's worth it to spend a couple of hours walking the hotel and looking at the historical photographs of the hotel.

This is without a doubt a magnificent hotel. The place to stay when visiting our city. The ambiance is unrivaled. The Palm Court is a lovely place for a drink. But don't expect real wine service. I asked for advice between Groth, Cakebread, and Chateau Montelena and was simply told they are all good. No knowledge of vintages, tasting notes, Wine Spectator scores....nothing to differentiate the bottles. If you want a mixed drink or a house wine, you'll be fine...or just order a good bottle on your own instincts. The list is fine, the service absent (at least in our case).

This is also true for dining there. It's a shame since it is such a lovely venue, but the service when we were dining before a concert was so poor that we did not get the desserts that were part of the 3 course offering we selected. We had 90 minutes to get a salad, main course and dessert, and told them from the beginning we were attending a concert. The server asked if we were going to the concert (having forgotten) when she delivered the main course. We even asked other servers to remind her, but we were ignored until it was too late for dessert. So, Definitely visit the Davenport, but dine at one of our better restaurants such as Wild Sage, where the food, wine and service are always superlative. So, I gave a "Very Good" because it is only the restaurant service that is lacking (food is OK, not imaginative or great). The truth would be a mixed review, with poor service in the restaurant. I'm always amazed by the hotel, and consistently not impressed by the restaurant side of this establishment. But I sure am grateful that it is here and lending beauty to our city. We'll return, but some time when there is no concert to attend so slow service will only mean more time in the beautiful hotel.

Even if you're not staying here overnight, come check out the lobby. It's a beautiful place. Guest rooms are nice too. Could have had bigger TVs and the bed was soft, but otherwise, it was really nice.

Horrible basic manicure. This review is about the spa, not the Hotel ( I love the hotel and service staff - great place). I had my nails done at the spa about two weeks ago. I am a local resident who works downtown; when my regular nail professional got sick I decided to duck into the Daventport for my manicure. First, let me say, the staff was very nice, helpful and they were able to book short notice appointment with no problem. The salon is beautiful and the atmosphere is relaxing.

The young lady who gave me my manicure was very sweet and clearly knew what she was doing. The only snag was when I asked her to carve out the back of my nail to reveal the half-moon style (a la Dita Von Tees/1930's; see my review for Vida Salon and Spa). She could not find a brush to do so, something I found very odd for a salon. Instead she used a q-tip. I applaud her resourcefulness but I was disapointed with the result. I felt that, because she was out of her comfort zone, my gel polish was very messy looking. I had peeling issues and polish on my cuticles; it was pretty disapointing. I would have rather her tell me she couldn't do it without a brush and just painted my nails in a normal fashion. I won't revisit the Davenport Spa for a manicure appointment again; though I probably will for a pedicure, massages or a hair appointment.

Nice rooms (Tower) but they kinda skimp on the amenities. It seems like they want you to not spend time in the room so you will spend more money at their bar or restaurant. No fridge, coffee maker, microwave. Not the place to stay of you are trying to be practical.

Very good, decor is beautiful, rooms spacious, bed comfortable, friendly service, good dining options, perfect. The only negative point is that it is next to a train line and sometimes you can hear the noise of the train passing by.

Parking available across the street from the building (to your right and around the corner if you are walking straight out of the main entrance). Place is very accommodating and takes care of it's guests. Rooms are lovely, even the 1 bedrooms are filled with art and detail. You'll enjoy your stay, here.

The Davenport is a fantastic place to stay. The rooms are great, with luxurious bathrooms and the most comfortable beds imaginable. The service staff leave no detail unaccounted for and the hotel has an enormous amount of interesting historical and architectural features to take in. The local area provides lots of interesting places to visit and a lot of great restaurants. Service workers in the area are kind and generous.

We had such a good time! We spent hours walking around looking at the Christmas Trees and then the Gingerbread Houses. I think we spent equal time, looking at the Davenport, itself. What A BEAUTIFUL place. Definitely agree that's its a home town favorite.

Very beautiful hotel, definitely recommend a visit (whether or not you book a room or order food) to see the gorgeous ballrooms and other rooms available to the public. They're all very fancy in an old historical sense, not a modern fancy sense. Intricately carved and painted ceilings, ect

This hotel was so warm and inviting. The building is absolutely gorgeous with so much history. The service is top notch and they help you with anything you need and then some. Thanks to Brenden who literally went out of his way to help us. He had a solution for everything and was extremely kind and quite frankly, an all around 10.
