Everything about this place is outstanding. It's so very beautiful. Sunday brunch is a must for anyone, really great food and so much of it. Peacock lounge is just amazing. The best part of the Historical Davenport though is the staff, they really treat you very special while still making you comfortable.

Service was excellent. Room service prices were a little steep, and the lack of a microwave/fridge restricts food warming and preservation options. This is a classy high end hotel, everything can be provided at a price, so prepare your wallet accordingly. Pillows were very soft - probably too soft for most.

This could be my favorite hotel experience ever. No, seriously. The building is fabulous. But the staff really make a historic place a world-class experience. The bed lives up to the billings, as it's a perfect combination of softness and support. Even if you aren't staying for the night, having a drink in the Peacock Lounge and dinner in the Palm Court will make for a wonderful night out.

The Davenport is historic and beautiful, but it's ...
The Davenport is historic and beautiful, but it's definitely a little outdated. Small complaint, they also no longer include the peanut brittle on your pillow, which used to be a nice little gift in your room.
They also now charge a '$10 destination fee' for normal amenities included at other higher end hotels like coffee, wifi, water etc.
Additionally, they lock the back doors in the evening, so you cannot enter, even with a key card. This is miserable in 10 degree weather when you have to go all the way around the block to get in. The doors they lock are also accross from one of their sister hotels/restaurants so it makes sense that people would be traveling between the two buildings during the day/night.

The Davenport Signature Buffet was disappointing at $196 + a $26 tip for 3 people. Mary, the hostess did a fair job, but one of the water glasses was empty for awhile. The quality of the food was ok. The anemic 2 ounce portion of the prime rib was a joke, as was the single little baby back rib. I expected more for $60. Waiting in line for an omelet was a little discouraging, so I came back later. The cook was in a hurry and was using high heat. It made the omelet brown and crispy. I told her to forget it, just keep it, and walked away. Waiting over 30 minutes for bacon was ridiculous. All of the eggs Benedict were way under-cooked and had very runny whites and yokes. There was only one scallop. The water had a horrible taste of chemicals. My glass of milk came in a dirty glass with black things in it. Not sure what it was. I would never recommend this to a friend, and will never return.

If you are driving through Spokane and do not stop at the Davenport for lunch, you are a fool. The Davenport harkens back to days gone by, when ladies went to luncheon in hats and gloves, and the waitstaff was impeccible, precise and excellent. I love to walk in and sit in the foyer, have lunch and feel that the gracious age has not totally left me in the lurch. I think, next time I am going through Spokane on the way to Northern Idaho, I will bring a hat and cotton net gloves so I can feel once again like in days when they were worn for lunch and tea.

Born, raised and got my hotel start there at this world famous historic landmark. Gorgeous polished marbled floors over 100 years old. Uniqly Hand carved ceiling molding throughout its interior found no where else in the states. Only Europe can equal it's beauty. The 1st floor bar called the Peacock room is a visual display and the ceiling is hand cut with a marvelous array of colored glass expertise. Check out the World Class displayed Polar Bear in the Hotel Lobby. You will love this Spokane hidden jewel refurbished by Walt Worthing..., like he his done to several other modern buildings as well ,but The Davenport is a Spanish Historic refurbishment awaiting your romantic memories to come.. Love it and get a suite for your sweet.

Sunday Brunch was phenomenal! A huge assortment of fresh foods, fresh omelette and crepe bar, carving station, and the BEST Eggs Benedict I've had. Service was excellent and friendly, my Mimosa never went dry!

My husband & I have stayed here multiple times. While we love the elegance of the Hotel & the Amazing Sunday Brunch, we have not been impressed the last 2 visits by the beds! The king beds, while heavenly at first, sunk & bowed to the middle. This last stay, I felt like Tom Hanks in The Money Pit! In addition, our room had a broken thermostat which made for a very stuffy night. Worst of all were the trains & being right next to the elevator! Maybe if the bed wasn t so uncomfortable & I was able to get comfortable to sleep, those noises wouldn t have been so obvious. Doubtful.
Upon checking out, while voicing the pros & cons of our stay to a young man named Ethan at Concierge, he was less than helpful or considerate. While we did not expect any discount or compensation for our unpleasant stay, this young man didn t even apologize or offer any advice for quieter rooms for our next stay. My husband finally asked him if there were specific rooms or areas of the Hotel to request that would be away from the train tracks. He provided us a rather confusing answer that I cannot recall all details other than, the deluxe rooms face the tracks.
We will return for the brunch but will consider overnights at a neighboring location.

I never write reviews, but my experience with the Davenport staff was so remarkable it warrants a record in my opinion.
I used the Davenport hotel to propose to my girlfriend, and the staff at the hotel went above and beyond to make it a truly special time.
The concierge service was friendly and willing to help when i initially called and began to describe my plan. They described dates in which the ballroom i intended to use was open, and how to go about using it.
Later on when i came on numerous visits to scope out a location for a proposal the valet and security staff escorted me around the hotel, giving me personal tours of the various rooms and their nuances.
When the day came to finally propose the front desk staff bent over backwards to help me prepare the room. They even let me store my flowers in their floral fridge. Insane! The room service staff ensured that no one came into the room through the service doors when i was proposing, and afterwards when i went to clean up some of the flower pedals i had put down, they told me not to, but to instead let the event staff do it! What???
I couldn't believe how gracious, professional, and courteous the staff was!
You have gained a lifetime customer Davenport staff! To Marshall, Cindy, Emilee, Scott, Mark, and all those whose names i can't remember, Thank you for your help.
Oh, and did i mention that all of this service cost me $0. Yes. Yes, Indeed.
P.S. She said Yes!

Love the history of the Davenport. Food was only OK. Was not hot.....just lukewarm. Shrimp were rubbery. Crab cake was not hot and not that good. Mashed potatoes weren't even warm. CDA Resort has better food. I really should only give it a 3 star based on food.

I travel regularly for work and have stayed in hotels in most every city in the US. The Hotel Davenport and the Grove Park Inn in Asheville are my two favorites. Both are historic gems that have been kept up to date and are meticulously maintained. I might give a slight edge to Grove Park due to its stunning views and elaborate spa. But the Davenport's walking distance proximity to great resturants and shopping makes up most of the difference. Even if you have no need to be in Spokane, you should schedule a trip to check out the Davenport. It is a unique destination unto itself.

The lobby is beautiful but the rooms were very unappealing for the cost. The beds are so high you need one or two stepstools to get on them and older folks would never manage. No soap for the bathroom sink, no small fridge, no information on things to do in the area. Starbucks in the lobby had no real cups and no recycle for the paper cups and the machine was broken on the second day. Stayed in much nicer hotels for much less so save your oney.

I booked this hotel one month in advance to stay in a King suite on the top floor with my wife after a nice dinner and Beethoven's ninth symphony by the Spokane Symphony. The first two events were great and we checked into the Davenport at 9 pm. We were given room 1418. It is a beautiful king suite with an adjoining door to the presidential suite. Unfortunately, there were twenty somethings staying in the presidential suite having a bit of a party, and the acoustics were just as if they were in my room. Ruined the evening. The hotel was booked, so there were no replacement rooms. We were forced to check out and drive home. Davenport lost $300, and I lost my taste for ever staying in or recommending the Davenport again. I don't hold the staff responsible, but whoever designed the adjoining situation and the sound proofing clearly wasn't qualified for the position. The did and extremely poor job, and now Davenport hotel has to live with ruining its reputation with business travelers such as myself.

8/10/2017 at the Davenport. Eggs Benedict with hash-browns, potatoes perfect. English muffin way too soft and not toasted well enough to help you cut through eggs and the Canadian bacon. Sauce bland and skimpy in portion, egg yokes ok, egg whites thick wall and rubbery like the bacon. Will not order this item again. Wife's meal of crape and strawberry's much better. Wish I did not order this item.
