By far the venue with the best sound on the city. The architecture is interesting and the surrounding scenery is nice. It can be a bit costly but worth it.

Colossal place. I had my convocation here. Nice place.
Always a fabulous show here. Building is a big circle. Wheel chair accessible. Staff very helpful and friendly. Really not a bad seat in the house. Sound is better in the balconies.
Outstanding. Exceptional performances. Can t wait to go back.
A wonderful place for music. The balcony is the best and cheaper seats.
The New Year s concert on the last night of each year is great!
Superb all around. Jonathan Crowe and the orchestra were outstanding!!!
Home of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, and a great overall concert venue in the heart of Toronto's Entertainment District.
TIP: There's parking available under the building for a flat $15 from 4pm-6am!
At venue for the TSO Romeo and Juliet performance and it was fantastic
Always a pleasure. Have been coming here for over 20 years, and I've never been disappointed. Top notch orchestra, world class touring artists, spacious hall, and impeccable curation and direction.
Stunning place as usual. Loved hearing the TSO there
Excellent acoustics. The noon-time free concert series brings art and music to the masses. Recent renovations made it better and is now a prominent stop for TIFF. And a pop culture tidbit to those of you that grew up watching Robocop in the 80s, look familiar?
Children Concert the voice were worth the ticket. It sounded like heaven on earth
one of Toronto's great cultural centres. great acoustics. there is no better place to enjoy and appreciate music history.
Excellent concert , well organized entrance and exit
Lovely venue! The orchestra is great, and there's not a bad seat in the house.
Although we were shocked that someone would just throw their trash (candy wrapper, red wine cup) on the lovely hardwood floor... Row E, seat 25, I'm talking about you!!
Great venue if you're looking for Symphonic music. Be sure to check TSO's website. The venue also offers free noon concerts tfrom time to time as well.
During TIFF, the hall concerts to a movie premier venue for big releases. Be sure to try and snag some tickets if you are in town during the festivities.
I've visited Roy Thomson Hall for a number of different occasions. It's a wonderful space and a cultural gem in Toronto. It's home to the Toronto Symphony Orchestra who play here on varying nights, mostly Wednesday to Saturday nights and some matinee performances throughout September to June. More recently, I've begun to admire their outdoor event space for private functions. It's simply beautiful.
Really nice venue! But a bit disorganized as they had everyone waiting OUTSIDE the seating area so they could have their staff stand post. Drinks were EXTREMELY OVER PRICED ($5 for a ginger ale)
The entertainment is usually good, but organization at the venue is almost always a mess.
Great venue for a Chris Botti concert, incredible acoustics, throughly enjoyable
It will be better if the waiting area is bigger and with sitting places.
Forget about the bourgeouis - I like coming to Roy Thomson Hall because I love to listen to the TSO plain and simple. They do a great justice for classical music for the city and I appreciate the culture that they pass on to the listeners at every performance. Thank you for this service!
Thoroughly enjoyable experiences - the venue's acoustics are as expected (wonderful) and features a view of your artist and the interior hard edges are breathtaking and Instagram-worthy before/after the show. I haven't sat in a wide variety of seats yet but imagine they deliver quality, regardless of position.
Acoustics and sight lines of the stage are delightful, spacious and ample parking. Food has always been of poor quality but I feel this is from an outside catering company.
Great performance by the TSO. Always a pleasure to listen to them perform.
A fantastic venue that Toronto should be proud of! We'll managed and maintained.
I attended yesterday night the concert of TSO Peter Oundjian conductor, with Lang Lang and Maxim Lando piano duo. The underground parking connected with the concert hall, so I didn't need to walk on the street on a cold evening. Parking after 6 p.m. is C$10 flat fee. I sat on the last 6th row on the main floor; the view was clear while the acoustic was comforting. Though Royal Thomson Hall was built in 1982, it is still very classy. It is one of the most enjoyable concert halls I like in Toronto!!
Great place for the symphony and I really enjoy the Live on the Patio series each year. Although the food food could be better.
Amazing quality productions that range from straight up orchestra, ABBA concerts, a pairing of second city comedy with a full orchestra to movies with an orchestra soundtrack. A great place to visit when you visit Toronto or just a night out on the town.
Fantastic venue built for sound. I am an AVID concert goer and the venue does impress. In the heart of Toronto, this intimate hall doesn't have a bad seat in the house. Even the "obstructed" view isn't bad at all.
Went to see Handel's Messiah. Had a great time. Parking under Roy Thomson Hall was great too.
Beautiful venue with delightful acoustics. It is easily accessible through the PATH and via TTC. The ushers are very friendly and eager to help. The Toronto Symphony Orchestra has truly world class musicians should you ever get a chance to see them. I've sat on both the balcony and mezzanine and seats at the front of those levels are better than the back of the floor.
No better place to listen to the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. The sound is rich and clear. The seating is well laid out and comfortable no matter where you are. The only issue I have is with the washrooms which can be a hidden in mazes of corridors. The venue itself otherwise is the perfect place for a concert event or lecture. I
Very good performance and nice acoustics. However, the washrooms were difficult to find, and exits were very hard to access when leaving.
Absolutely beautiful hall with a beautiful orchestra.
Went with the students from my daughter's schols. Trip was organized by music teacher. First experience at live opera was was good.
Auditorium is very big from inside. Seating arrangement and acustic atmosphere is good.
Worth visiting at least once if you are visiting Toronto.
Beautiful venue. The TSO fills the air with the beautiful sounds!
Had such a great time at Twelve Days of Christmas Concert! Orchestra sounded beautiful. Really loved the architecture of the hall. Staff was very accommodating and nice.
I love the opportunity to see world famous musicians in a great venue.
For a theatre built in an era not too well revered for architectural greatness, the Roy Thompson Hall looks much more impressive on the inside than it does on the outside.
We were there for the Toronto Sweets Festival outside on the grounds. So many yummy treats being sold and sampled. I have been in the building for concerts in the past and it is lovely with amazing acoustics and actually fairly comfortable seats and I love the modern architecture of the building design. It really is one of Toronto's jewels.
Attended a performance by the TSO, which are a must see for anyone in Toronto. Tickets aren t too expensive and you get to enjoy a great performance every time. Highly recommended!
The only negative are some of the other audience members. When you go, keep in mind that generally being unable to sit still or quiet are disruptive. Please try to be considerate of those around you, and enjoy the performance!
The acoustics in this place are fantastic. Seeing and listening to the TSO perform at this venue is always a treat!
This was the Mark Howard, Princess Margaret Cancer Center Grand concert. At Roy Thompson Hall. With a star studded cast of Canadian talent. Randy Bachman,Sass Jordan,Colin James,Sarah McLachlan,Ian Thornley Tom Wilson,Sam Roberts,et al... what a great show.. Please give to cancer research at Princess Margaret, or anywhere close to you.. stop cancer..
Very nice, although not all seats have a good view.
The architectural design is beautiful, this concert hall acoustic is just perfect, the quality of the sound is very rich and clear. The staff and the TSO are wonderful. I had a great experience here!
Concert... sounded great. I can't imagine a bad seat in the hall.
Super! Excellent location. Great performances. Friendly staff
Was just outside on the patio for a free concert but the staff and food was good. The sound was very good for an outside concert.
Cants say anything that anybody hasn t said already!!
It's my first time to Roy Thomson. I went for Itzhak Perlman. My seating was so so but surprisingly the acoustics are good
Horrible parking policy. Unfortunately this review is more about the parking the it is the venue. If at all possible Park anywhere else then Roy Thomson Hall's parking lot. If you are late getting back to your car at all (even by a few minutes in my case) they will lock your car in and you will be trapped in Toronto for the night. To add insult to injury they will charge you to keep your car there over night. I don't usually write reviews but people need to know and I will tell everyone I can. *Avoid Roy Thompson parking lot
A beautiful piece of Toronto architecture housing our best music. Go see the symphony today!
Spacious, close to subway and holds great concerts.
I attended a chocolate fair at this place with my girlfriend. The experience was breath taking and we enjoyed alot. The hall is beautiful and a really nice view of CN tower from inside the hall.
The symphony is top-notch. What a beautiful interior. Will be back.
Pretty good. Accoustics are great and seats comfortable.
