A long time Toronto staple and venue for the (TSO) Toronto Symphony Orchestra. The venue is fairly modern and well maintained. The acoustics have often been derided, but this is only discernible to the elite ear.
The venue is very comfortable all around, the staff are always helpful. Liquor service at intermission is reasonable priced and varied.
If you are going to a TSO, be prepared for lots of coughing, hacking, jingly jeweller, unwrapping of foil candy/lozenge packets and the like... I think this though is a phenomenon of the audience rather than the venue.

Had a chance to catch Star Wars in concert. It is an excellent venue. The sound completely envelopes you. I also love the design.

The only problem was access to the bathrooms, as someone with a disability it was difficult going up and down all those stairs to get to the bathroom (and I didn't see any signage for anything close). The line-ups were quite long during intermission. Some people were just getting to the top of the stairs and the bells rang. Perhaps you could extend the intermission time a few more minutes when it is very busy?

Apart from that, it was a fun event! I really enjoyed myself.

Worthwhile to include a visit to Museum across the road in St Andrew's church basement to see awesome 48th Highlanders war memorabilia. Its free fascinating for all, including children, and only needs about an hour.

Acoustics fantastic. Staff ... well ... I always feel that there is a high-brow looking down the nose overtone here. Not knowing where your seat is is apparently all they need to know about you. This may say more about me than it does about them, still ...

I love this concert hall. The architecture is stark and beautiful - it is a perfect example of the stylistic architectural use of concrete and glass in a way that is both warm and welcoming. The acoustics in the hall are excellent. I've attended both concerts (most recently a concert of John Williams music performed by the TSO) and lectures (National Geographic speakers series) here, and I look forward to my next visit.

Never had a bad experience with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra in the five years I've been attending on an average of once monthly. Always my spirit has soared with the expertise of the musicians, the magic of the visible sounds of my CDs, tapes, records and the radio come to life before me and around me, lifting my soul in the embrace of our God's gift to mankind. This orchestra perfectly brings to life the genious of so many great composers dropping manna from heaven into my thirsty soul.

An added, unexpected gift of the concerts is the comradry of my seatmates: strangers who gently, aimiably share with me mutual enjoyment of their joy in our delight in the choir of instruments - singing their magic through the gifts of the orchestra and dedicated, mostly long dead composers.

A fantastic building, beautiful inside and out. Pro tip: get there at least half an hour early and have some beer or wine and chat while you wait for the show. Unfortunately the acoustics are not the best, but you'll see a great show anyway.

Good place for entertainment. I went there for TIFF and TIFF uses the venue annually. It is mostly very crowded during the TIFF season, but if there is no events, it is not busy at all. The place might be a good place to walk around as a tourist. Many features are all in walking distance.

Disappointed with RTH. Probably reflecting the times but becoming a snobatorium. Attended the symphony for many years but feeling unwelcome. Building is a challenge for people with mobility problems which my wife has. Someone decided to have a post concert soiree for the conductor and plunked tables on the path to the stairs to our seats along with a whole lot of staff saying you can't go this way. That meant going around the building along with two extra flights of stairs all so the unwashed might not pass by the table settings. I may be extra grumpy today but the acoustics are also not great compared to Massey Hall before it was converted to amplified performances.

Walked down here for their live concert series. The vibe is easy, band is cool but get her EARLY for seating. One glass of wine, a premium beer and a big bag of popcorn cost about $25 with a generous tip.
