Meh- mediocre.
Went there religiously until they cut down portion sizes on their soy chicken whilst jacking up the price.

Not impressed.

Joey never lets me down. Came in for lunch with a coworker and it was busy. Service did not suffer. The server was attentive and helpful. The food was delicious as usual. Great environment and awesome vibe.

Relaxed atmosphere, casual but attentive staff and a great menu. So far every dish we have had has been creative and perfectly prepared.
Often quite busy on Friday nights.
In summer, the small patio is quite pleasant.

Ordered curbside pick up due to virus outbreak. Excellent food and service as usual. They ve even thrown in a hand written thank you card with my name on it. Good to receive some warmth during such difficult time. Gotta love JOEY!!

The service is terrible. The food was okay but the employees treat people differently. I went to this place 4 different times and all times this place treated us horribly. There are a better restaurants around for you to eat. But try it for your self.

huge shoutout to @JOEYRestaurants (Markville) for their exceptional response to Covid-19. Every other large booth was empty, and plexiglass was used to separate smaller booths. Contactless menu and payment . Amazing job !

My guest and I arrived on a Wednesday evening and ended up ordering the osaka sushi, tacos and bbq salmon on rice. The dishes were all okay and nothing really stood out to me as much to be truthful.

I would say this Joey's does create a great atmosphere because it is busy and generates a modern crowd.

I recently visited JOEY Markville with a friend and I can say I had the most satisfying experience because of our great server. I think his name was Mark? Regardless, he paid great attention to our table, made sure everything was ok, refilled our water before it emptied and even humoured us with some jokes. The food was great and the vibe was cool. It is rare that I come across a server I would write about, but this guy needs some recognition for the service he provided. I will definitely be back and hope that all your servers can provide me and other guests with a wonderful experience just as great as my first

The food was delicious, portions are good and the prices are maybe a tad above average. The only reason why it didn't get 5 stars is because the service was pretty slow.

Joey's has a good atmosphere and good food, but this particular location was quite disappointing. My friend and I both ordered the New York steak among other items -- one medium and one "medium well but closer to well done". The former was fully red with blood gushing out, and the latter was pinkish red with drops of blood as well. We pointed this out to the server and she even guessed that the almost well-done steak was supposed to be a medium. She informed the manager, who came to talk to us and had the kitchen cook the first one a bit more and switched the second steak completely. While we appreciated this gesture, our meal turned into an unnecessarily prolonged ordeal where half our time there was spent waiting for our food to be properly cooked and picking at cold fries (not to mention, I've never tasted such a raw piece of meat ever in my life so this was quite nauseating and upsetting). We were hoping for an enjoyable but quick meal as we have work early the next day, but sitting around and waiting for something that should have been done right the first time was very annoying. And the fact that they kind of just shrugged it off with nothing more than "Sorry about that, here's a new steak almost 20 minutes later" shows us that they'll only do the absolute bare minimum to remedy the situation and not actually try to ensure that their guests are well taken care of.

Some reviews said that the burgers and steaks were bad here, but I didn't want to believe them, and I was really craving steak, so I ordered a steak. It was disappointing, ordered medium rare, felt like rare in some parts and it wasn't easy to eat or chew. It wasn't that "tender" feeling I get at other places, and the steak also didn't have any sauce. The mashed potatoes spring rolls were very good though, and I don't even like eating mashed potatoes.
My family ordered other dishes, one of which, the burgers was very dry and hard to eat, didn't even end up finishing it. So 2/4 of the dishes were a disappointment (burger and steak). This place can't cook steaks or setup a burger. Not coming back here again.
Definitely for younger couples or for dates, not exactly family friendly, but you could bring your family, like I did. There were other tables which also had families dining together. The service could be a little better, but it was a busy night, so I can't really complain.

Food was average in my opinion. Cripsy mashed potatoes is always my go-to. Other than that, it's just fancy spot for special occasions.

Lobster ravioli were great! Varied menu, quick service, nice atmosphere.

I typically enjoy joey's and tend to eat there and also get take out quite often. Recently, however, I have had two bad experiences, with the most recent one being tonight. While the food was good, the service was awful. Our server tended to be quite absent, and at one point it was over 30 minutes before our server checked on us, at which point, I had to order additional take out from ANOTHER SERVER because I did not know if I would get my order in. This experience was highly frustrating, and coupling this with the bad burger I had two weeks ago (the bun was hard as a rock) I am not sure if I want to return, even though it is conveniently located across the street from my workplace. A one hour dinner turned into over two hours- and most of that time was waiting for our server to either come and take our order or just check in with us. I am so disappointed.

Great location and atmosphere. Was waiting for a table on a Saturday night and waitress came around with samples and drinks. Not sure if it was a special event or if it's a regular thing. But loved the service. Food was great as well.

Staff is very friendly and their food is much better compare to other chain bars or dinning restaurants. I usually go there once a week for an after work beer. Try their Morocco chicken soup and tuna salad.

Went one time and the food was good, (-this was soon after opening). Returned and the food was mediocre. Both times the food was expensive. Won't be burned again.

Very poor service , we ordered appetizers which came after our dinner was done and they kept bringing the wrong order twice also asked water from four different waitresses out of which non of them bothered to bring it!!!!

The service and food at this location is great. My friend and I go there all the time. I was just there yesterday and while we were waiting for our table, they gave us a sample of red wine and also some chili chicken apps. A good place to go to for a night out or a date.

Amazing restaurant, friendly staff and very very delicious food. I usually order filet Mignon and it s one of the best ones I ve ever tried! I ve been to keg , but even theirs is not as good as Joey s. Also, staff always tries to help you in the best way, they easily will change your reservation whenever you like, choose the best table for you. Definitely recommend. Hummus is also a must-try. Very delicious. Yam!

Haven't had a great experience although the food was great, I must say. It was Valentine's Day and busy. Food was slow to arrive and it looked like my server was overwhelmed

- clean bathrooms with beautiful industrial design (push the pedal for water pressure actually, don't look around and act cool)

- take your time it's not a fast food chain stand.

- great staff, they know the menu well amd could help you with some weird names

The Ahi Tuna Club is my go-to order. The tuna is never fishy and the onion rings add a nice crunch to your bite. The fries are pretty ordinary, but it doesn't take away from how good the sandwich as a whole.

Service is always good. One time the kitchen accidentally made an extra dish and they offered it to our table for free. It was amazing.

Great Food and great atmosphere! However they just enforced a new rule where minors cannot sit in the lounge area! We waited for 20 minutes to clear a table in the dinning area! This makes sense on a friday after 8 however on a sunday at 2pm this makes no sense considering the dining area only has 8 tables! This Sunday ritual l might have to stop considering this new rule.

The food and service here is absolutely amazing! But the wait times and prices are also amazingly high.

Had an incredible date night with my fiancee here tonight, was looking for somewhere classy and young, with the right vibes and not gonna break the bank. Music was a little loud (but not overpowering). Their happy hour menu is great and affordable and their 3 dollar beer is to die for. Loved the experience will definitely go again!

Poor service on take out. Manger didn t acknowledge, for the wrong ordered pasta waited 45mins. Spend your time somewhere else

Great food and great service. Our server was named Nicole, she was great. There were a few issues but the manager Robyn handled it VERY well. Will definitely come here again. I highly recommend others to do so as well.

Great food, service, and location! Tried the Calamari, pesto shrimp flatbread (recommended), hand-pressed burger (so good) and the Chicken Parmesan platter. Recommended place to try. Walmart and many other stores are in the same location for shopping before or afterwards.

Great dinner delivery service during covid! Thank you for staying open in our community. Everything was neatly presented and was delicious. The hummus was soo yummy. Pork dumplings were savory. Donuts for dessert were amazing. We will order again. Thank you! Xx

Enjoyed dinner. The champagne and apps while waiting for our table was much appreciated. Robyn always makes a point of saying hello and makes our dinner experience most enjoyable.

Atmosphere was great , great service despite how busy it was. The server often came by and checked up on us. Food is delicious.

Amazing location and the food is great. Hostess and waiters were really friendly and made sure we were always looked after. Bar seating, dining room, and patio available. Parking can be quite tricky because it is next to a mall, and the price of food is slightly more expensive than your average restaurant. If you go out for dinner here you could easily spend over 50$. Would recommend for special occasions or happy hour if you're in the area.

Our host was very polite. Went for lunch on a weekday. I ordered the tofu bowl - which was delicious. And my friend ordered the steak frites or something, which he said was also good. We got the donuts for dessert, and it tasted fresh and was delicious.

Great spot for dinner, the restaurant is quite large and they have two outdoor patio spots.

Service is always excellent and friendly. The food quality I have found is consistent and amazing.

The servers and ambiance are very good but foods quality are not good and comparable with other locations like in Lawrence a Sherway Gardens where I have had excellent quality of joey's foods.

Today, August 14 was my last day at joey. A lot of my coworkers were aware and actually brought it to my attention that I ve had a massive target on my back since I came back from Thailand. I am not surprised that I was let go as I could sense something was off. I refuse to have my work ethic and attention to detail be ridiculed and undermined. My iconic hospitality was in question even tho i was one of the few to get positive feedback letters weekly.

I have been harassed, bullied and have had to act like everything is okay for months now. It was also brought to my attention by several of my regular guests that they had written several feedback letters and management had withheld ALL of them to substantiate their false claims against me. (Definite witch hunt) I travelled from Oshawa solely to work with the people I had the pleasure of working with, there are many other restaurants to work for but I chose to stay because of my coworkers. I think it s important that people are away of the way some of us are treated on a daily basis as it can really affect our mental health. I, a woman of colour with very short hair was constantly told how I didn t meet the joey brand on numerous occasions. Yet I was constantly relied on to take on bigger sections to help fill the roles that others couldn t take on. I hope that those who have been put in my position can speak up against this harassment as it s extremely wrong and very unnecessary.

Disappointed in the food - got the butter chicken - for the price I expected more chicken but mine was loaded with cauliflower. The sauce had a weird ketchup sweet taste to it. I won t be back!

I've been here a couple of times. First time, the menu seemed somewhat exciting with a few items you'd want to try. Flavours became meh and it's just another restaurant.

Food was fantastic. Service was a bit off and we received an apology for the length of time it took to get our drinks. Overall I'd recommend going here.

Great food and great place to eat. Tables are spread out and well divided. The place is clean and I feel comfortable.

I contemplated writing in because I didn't know if anyone would receive this or if Bryre would ever hear this email. My friends and I came in on Friday afternoon and before Bryre got the chance to take our order, I immediately said to her "thank you for smiling" in which she replied "I love to smile". It is extremely rare to see someone so happy and radiate the way she did when she came to the table. Whenever my friends and I asked her for recommendations, Bryre was so confident and honest when describing her favourite dishes and the ingredients within them. Our experience has always been a good one but by FAR Bryre made it all the more enjoyable. She was attentive, enthusiastic, engaging and very interactive. I can't tell you how appreciative I was at how keen she was at making our experience the best one. Never lose that shine Bryre and Thank you so much!!

The food is good, the prices are affordable, and the service is good as well. Where this place falls flat on its face is at the front door. The girls take shifts working at the front reception. This is the problem. Many of these young girls couldn't organise a line from shortest to tallest. They are dangerously unqualified for organizing the seating. I came with a party of seven and even though I called unsuccessfully to reserve a table multiple times, was told we'd have to wait 30 minutes for a table, even though we were "3rd in line" and there were 5 booths open! I watched these two dummys seat groups of 2 and 3 in booths designed to hold 8 people, while smaller booths are empty! After a half hour I asked again, and the girl informs me it'll be another half hour because other people called in to reserve tables while we were waiting! What!?!?

This is like the 5th time this has happened, and we're regulars.

Don't get me wrong, as I said the food is good, the staff are friendly and mostly attentive, I just don't recommend going at peak hours.

Went at a busy time around 7 on a Friday. Got a take in the communal table. Service was good, food was good.

Food quantity and quality are both low. A nice atmosphere with fast waiting time . Staff is friendly, but unfortunately, the food does not taste very good, and they give you surprising little for the price.

I usually do not take time out of my day to leave a comment regarding my experiences when I dine out but after my last visit, this had to be done.

First off our server, what an amazing job taking care of my group. From the speedy service to the unbelievably great food recommendations, she was on point.

Secondly, the manager Ashley. Just WOW. She was able to work some magic and let us continue to be seated in our same seats even though there was another party coming. We knew before hand that we were only able to be seated at our table until 7pm but with her magical powers she possess, we got to stay at the same table and the other party was able to get the same sized table. It was truly a win win for everyone.

Overall, both these ladies are the reason why I am booking another reservation for tomorrow. I really hope they both get the recognition they truly deserve.

The place is very presentable and busy. We were seated and our order was taken right away. The food was excellent. Ordered the steak frites and chicken wings. Both were excellent. Dessert was apple crumble with maple ice cream. Excellent in both taste and service. The waitress was very good, always attentive and making sure we were well looked after.

This is my favorite Joey's location. The staff is wonderful and provide exceptional service, always. A great appetizer is the mashed potato spring. The prawn and lobster ravioli is my go to selection.
