We were a group of 8, they said because we were more than 6 they would not allow us in. We offered do 4 and 4 to which they also refused to prevent mingling. How can a 'policy' like this realistically be enforced? Kick people out if they do not respect the social distancing. We've had no issues at the other many other restaurants we've visited in the past couple of days. Do not give your business to the Alibi.

It's a lot of beer to choose from, which is a plus and minus. Choice is great, but sometimes you don't want to have to think too much when going out for a beer. Plus, there "next one up" system took some time to figure out. I had a friend explain it to me, bit still was never a 100% sure if the beer I was choosing was available. They don't serve food all day. They break between breakfast//lunch and dinner times. That is disappointing for us afternoon eaters. It's family style seating. The waiter was kind enough to warn us that a big group was going to sit next to us. I liked the consideration.

Had some friends in from out of town and I knew the Alibi room was the place to take them. We loved it. The beer selection is top notch and the beer knowledge from the bartenders is also excellent.

Told wait was 30 mins to get in, ended up being one and a half hours. The beers may be great but the wine list is non existent. Food was mediocre. Could be run much more efficiently. Will not be back.

Had a decent beer list, a little heavy on the IPAs bit liked that is was constantly changing. The service upstairs was ok but we were put downstairs and there you line up at the bar to place your drink and food order. I wasnt very fond of that and we went from a cheery serving staff to two grumpy Gus'. So that was lame. I found the food quite average and over priced.

I love their exhaustive menu of local brews, both the well known favorites and the more obscure gems. Many of them aren't available anywhere other than the brewery itself. Look past the sketchy location at the far end of Gastown and check it out.

My husband said they have great beer. I ordered a burger, it was pretty gross. I'm not sure what was wrong with it honestly, just had a gross flavor. Fries were very good. Slaw wasn't good, I think it had horseradish in it. 3 out of 4 of us didn't like the slaw. My husband never got the food he ordered. Hostess was super friendly.

Oh my god. After 5 years I returned to find the menu as amazing as it once was. Thank you, Alibi Room, for existing. You bring an amazing consumption experience and I'd glad go back regularly if I lived closer.

Haven't been here in ages, Alibi room hasn't changed much. An institution in the area, it offers great food and a fun place to meet friends for beers in a pleasant space. Long tables allow for bigger groups or sharing one and making new friends. Speaking of which, to my pleasant surprise, one thing that did change is the beer selection. With 40 beers on tap and the option of sleeves, I had a great time discovering new breweries!

Classic! Best spot for great beers and foods and building memorable moments with friends and special ones. My live in Vancouver would not be the same without Alibi. A bit corny, but nevertheless true.

The wait for this place is RIDICULOUS. We put our name down and walked around for nearly an hour before we were called back. Good thing there were some July 4th fireworks. Didn't know people in Canada celebrate 'Murica!

It's a pretty big space. Dimly let and busy without overcrowding. We came here for beer and that's exactly what we got. There were tastings as well.

The highlight of the night was definitely the "chocolate fondant" - Oh. My. Goodness! The waitress recommended it to us and we figured why not? It was only $5. After ordering, we were thinking we may end up with the thick frosting used to cover cakes. Thank goodness it wasn't! Instead, it was heavenly delicious molten lava chocolate cake. I've never had anything this darn good. If I had a glass of milk, I would've been absolutely happy.

This was almost 2.5 years ago and we STILL talk about that chocolate fondant.

Great room, perfectly attentive service (she gave us space to converse without interrupting, but we always had what we needed/wanted) delicious broccoli noodle dish, tasty cider, all in all could not have been better!

First time back in a while and still a good place. Best is summer when they have the windows open and the patio going. The thing that makes the Alibi Room is the food. For a bar/pub the food is a cut above normal and in fact is very good. Good portions and unique food at a fair price. Two things struck me on this visit - the room has always been "dated", but it struck me as more so this time. Secondly they have a great selection of local craft beers on tap, but unfortunately they've followed the trend of other bars and abandoned the Belgium beers to be like everyone else which I found disappointing. Overall still a good place and recommended.

Awful, cramped, uncomfortable, expensive. The veggie burger was so badly made and over cooked that it felt like I was eating glass wrapped around a lump of tiling grout. As for service, there isn't any.

I ended up not eating much of my burger and the waiter didn't even ask why. Clearly no pride in their restaurant and it shows.

Some of the other reviews say it has great atmosphere.. Apparently to them that means a room full of loud people yelling at each other in virtual darkness sitting on blocks of wood. Low expectations I guess. As for the beer, there are lots of better places that aren't so close to skid row in the industrial part of Gastown.

Will never go back. Really only a place a hipster could like.

Mediocre food (I have to try the brunch yet), but excellent atmosphere and beer menu. It's usually very busy on weekends and is not unusual to wait for more than 30 mins (if you are willing to) for a table. Beers are a bit on the expensive side, but they are so good you won't care :)

Fantastic little bar. Its just outside of the heart of Gastown but its really worth the small walk. They always have a different menu of beer and their staff is extremely helpful. It does get very busy very fast though. Be sure to make reservations.

If you're looking for a night out with some good beer, heres the place to go. Huge selection of craft beers and some of your usual bar food. Definitely get their skinny fries to munch on while having a beer or beers (they do beer paddles).

We tried brunch here. The benny eggs were overcooked - this is sucks, onion was superfluous in benny (I thought it will be side-served) and these was not too much salmon!! Only few tiny slices .
Buuuut... potato was amazing! That's why it is 4 stars, but not 3

It's a good place to go for drinks on weekend evenings, but I personally like the brunch here! It was surprisingly quiet on Sunday (because of some other event in town), so my table really enjoyed the food and quiet, peaceful atmosphere. The food was good at about the right price, and staff were very accommodating :)

The best thing is the selection of beer- it's very wide and diverse so you have plenty to choose from. Good prices and okay-ish food - sketchy part of town. Good place to visit for craft beer lovers for sure though.
