Great place for drinks with friends! It was quite busy & loud when I was there on a Friday night. Younger crowd with a lively atmosphere. We were sitting in the basement section which is also a bit stuffy when it's so busy, but still had a charming old-timey speakeasy feel to it. Cocktails are great, and beer selection is impressive! I can't comment too much on the food because I only tried a few small snacks (which were also pretty good).

Bar service for food/beer. No one ever offered water. Warm/humid. Loud music. Bad acoustics so you can't hear the person across from you over everyone else. Burger was better without the sad, dry, burnt patty ($20 dumpster burger). Cole slaw was just not good (not seasoned, no flavour, did anyone taste it after making it? Sad, oily cabbage). 90% of my fries were 1-2cm long (bottom of the bag?). Cheese plate came with six sliders worth of bread and three tiny pats of cheese. Bread was too heavy and not really appropriate. Beer was poured fine but no one told us which beers were out so both of my first two choices were not available. Amateur hour. Been a while since I went to a place that struck out on so many things at once.

Great bar with a cool interior and food / drink selection. Mostly IPAs on the drink list, so something to keep in mind. It's often a while before a waiter comes to your table, so expect a bit of a wait. Otherwise it's great.

A local institution for beer, food, and good times. Always busy especially after work and dinner. Their fries are addictive. Their fresh sheet usually has some great menu items that I wouldn t hesitate to order. If you have the choice, sit upstairs.

Great find. A great selection of truly local craft beers on tap. Moderately priced for DT Vancouver. Nice atmosphere. It used to be the Taxi Club for those old enough to remember. Small food menu but ideal for groups. Great staff too.

Enjoyed my time here. The burgers were really tasty. The fries were good, but maybe a tad salty. Though, I did get the impression that because my table had few people order alcoholic drinks, we weren't treated with a sense of urgency, which was disappointing.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed a lovely dinner on Valentine's Day. We were extremely satisfied with our meals and I thought the flight of beer recommended by the server was a perfect pairing. The price is very reasonable for location and quality. Will definitely be back and recommend to friends.

One of the best veggie burgers I ve ever tried, was not expecting that from a place known mainly for their beers. The beer too were great, I m not much of a beer person but the fruity beers were so easy to take down and staff was kind enough to help us pick them out. Being known mainly as a bar I was expecting just mediocre food but it was simply great all around! Definitely had a great experience, although at some point the staff did forget about us and it took a while for us to order. It is right next to a train track so you can hear it go by and it is a bit of a walk away from other food places.

The drink selection is amazing, especially with the different beers available but many cocktails too. While the food menu is small, it's never let me down. The atmosphere is unique - exposed brick building, big windows, very "Gastown". Although a bit of the beaten path, I'd highly recommend this spot.

Great atmosphere and great selection of beer; food is alright. 4/5 stars because the servers don't take your order. you will have to go to the bar to order every time u need a drink....not a big deal but it'd be nice if they took orders.

Great place! Craft brewery fans will certainly find the menu has more than ample choices, with applicable descriptions of the items on tap. The food menu is very short, but the burger I had, was one of the best I have had all year.

The other night, I ordered the burger to go.
It was no mistake, that IS one of the best burgers around!

As a big beer nerd I can say that this probably the best Craft Beer bar in Vancouver. Excellent service every time I go (and I've been a LOT), great selection and prices are very reasonable.
I don't mind sports bars but there's something about coming to a place with out loud music and dozens of screens that's way more relaxing. A good spot to have a chat with new people over some good beer and food.

Still a good joint for a beer, but I feel like the passion has gone out of the place. There is now a vibe at the Alibi Room that either the staff don't care about the beer or that it's too established to fail. I remember way back when it was one of the only craft beer places and it was slammed all the time. Maybe they need an update.

Excellent selection of craft beers and a decent food menu. This place gets pretty packed! The building is right next to the train tracks, so you can drink and watch trains go by if you're into that sort of thing.

Terrible customer service. Food below average. Found a hair in my burger and the waitress denied it was theirs. Who does that!!!! It costs you $1.00. Just apologize and bring a new burger.

Won't be back.

I absolutely love the place, great choices of beer, great food and friendly staff. Went there twice during my visit to Vancouver once for drinks only and another time for drinks and food.. I had to try the burger which was delicious!

Gotta love the alibi room. As a beer aficionado, I can say with certainty that their rotation of interesting and delicious drinks is pretty much unparalleled in the city. Cool industrialesque atmosphere, and reasonable service.

Their food selection leaves something to be desired, but I gave them full marks anyway because, let's be honest, you're here to drink beer, not to eat.

This is my favourite spot for beer in Vancouver! They don't serve crap beer here, we always get awesome service from the friendly staff and the atmosphere is really nice. They also have great food, possibly the best veggie burger in Vancouver.

The staff are super friendly, but in trying to memorise our order forgot our food when putting through the drinks. We had to ask for our food a couple of times again before it arrived, but they were good enough to take this off our bill. The drinks selection is great, but the frat bat was covered in beer which made for some wet clothes.

Really nice vibe and a good (and lengthy) selection of mostly local beers (within 20 miles around them). Good location, good service, I enjoyed this one. It was packed right from the start, they open at 5pm and people were lining up at the door...

A staple in the city. One of the first bars to serve plentiful craft beer not owned by conglomerates. A unique place in Gastown that has become an institution for locals and beer lovers alike. Above average pub fare that will not disappoint. Lots of share items.

A beautiful 100 year old room lend to the warm aesthetics alongside an awesome staff both in the exposed kitchen and front of house.

Places like this are what create community inside a transient city.

The best bar for craft beer in the city. And, no TVs! Definitely a local bias in the taps, but there's always other great beers from the Pacific Northwest and beyond. And the weekend brunch is great if you like scrambles and benedicts.

Spacious and good place for trying many beers. Beer list constantly changes. I love the round romantic table by the window facing North Van. Memorable experience. Food complimented the beers. Chicken wings are solid and decent amount of sauce.

A neighborhood favorite!
Unique space, can get very loud when busy due to the flat walls and glass.
Good vibe, knowledgeable bartenders.

This is one of Vancouver's finest. Go here for the beer. Return for the great food and quality service. Been going on and off for years and I have never been disappointed. Except maybe by having to wait too long to get in. So don't read this review and don't go.

Came in for Sunday brunch, and while theft food was great the kitchen was quite slow. There were a few bigger groups in at the time, but it was nearly an hour from sitting down to getting our breakfasts. Come earlier if you can, imthe corned beef hash is worth a trip.
