At the visitors center in West Point, we asked for a recommendation for lunch. Lunch with a view was our criterion. The hotel requires admission to the post. At the hotel we asked about sitting on the patio. Too hot, they said. We insisted that the heat was no problem so they set up a table for us in spite of the heat. (It was hot.) After apologizing to the woman waiting on us for making her come out into the heat, we ordered salads.

The food fine, but not what I'd expect from a hotel restaurant of this class. The service was slow, but we were in no hurry and had let them know that.

However, the view was outstanding and the general demeanor of the hotel staff including our waitperson couldn't have been better suited to the hotel or our needs.

The hotel was gorgeous. The rooms were very nice and the view was amazing. We were situated on the Mountain Side which is not as pretty as the river side, but the river side has a train which can be loud. Not bothersome at all though. If you go for the breakfast, I recommend the fox hole egg meal. It was crazy good

Ultimately, it's overpriced. The rooms are nice, just not $300/night nice. The up charge is for the history and location, I suppose. The breakfast leaves a lot for wanting and costs quite a bit. I think the diner in town is comparable in quality. Coffee was bad. The amenities are OK.

Historic hotel w/ a great staff. It's a old building so don't expect anything to gleem. That said, the beds are new and comfortable the linens and towels are good quality and housekeeping does an excellent job. The restaurants are good, not great. Again, the staff was welcoming and attentive. The apps at bar were tasty (the parmesan truffle fries were a favorite). The folks who ordered the more straightforward items (burgers/sandwiches) tended to be more satisfied that those who were more adventurous (short ribs/ahi tuna). The breakfast buffet was a little expensive for what was on offer. In the $20 per person zone I would look for some charcuterie, some smoked salmon and the breakfast sausage should be upgraded. The criticisms aside, this hotel has a good vibe. I'll return here if I'm in the area.

Went to kids night at the Zulu reaturant and had a blast. There was a ton of kids, music, ballin animals and free shirly temples given out. Overall it was a great time, my kid had a blast and we will definitely be going next time.

We went for the Sunday Brunch. The food was ok but I expected more for what they charged. The beef was dry and they barely gave you any. Then wait staff was terrible and would never come to our table unless we waived them down after waiting a few minutes for us to find them. We never got refills on anything unless we asked which was bad because our section wasn't even busy and they kept going to the other tables without people having to call them. So much for unlimited mimosas like she said we would get when we sat down. We had 2 total!. Not happy with this visit at all!

Great view, but not a fan of freight trains running under my window blowing their whistle all day and night. Food at the tavern and restaurant was fair at best at 5 star prices. Won't be back.

Horrible food, horrible service. I was assigned 2 servers yet it took me 35 minutes to get a diet cook. The restaurant manager seemed to be avoiding any quality control or patron support. The restaurant has no signage outside marking it and you have to go through the uptight Weat Point security to get there. A waste of time I should have stayed home
