Fine old hotel with terrible service in MacArthur's Restaurant. The hotel drips with history and the staff work hard to keep up with the endless maintenance demands. Very friendly valet and front desk staff. Hardworking and friendly housekeeping staff. Hotel would be a 4+ if not for the wait staff in the dining room.

First and foremost we were visiting during covid. West Point campus was closed to the public so we were not able to view the grounds there. The grounds around the hotel were nice but small. The hotel itself is Grande and beautiful. However the internet is very poor. We had a three bedroom suite which had a TV in every room but only one trash can for the entire Suite. The TV in the master bedroom did not change channels. Also dining was an issue. We had reservations before we arrived for the first night, the second night we thought we would eat in town but there is basically only a few breakfast places to eat unless you want McDonald's. We had difficulty getting seated. The hotel was full and I understand with covid-19 are rules to follow. But I thought they could have done a better job accommodating a full Hotel for meals. There are multiple banquet rooms that could have possibly been used to seat people for dinner being that there is really no other option. We got a late table at Zulu time which is there rooftop Bar / restaurant. It was freezing and we had to be mindful of what we ordered because I knew it would be cold within minutes of Being Served. Not sure where the kitchen is but they had to travel a ways with the food and then the weather was in the 50s. They did offer us a heat Tower which provided very little Heat what was nice to look at. I had expected great things, perhaps it had not had limitations due to covid I might have a better report. Bad internet one trash can and a bum TV had nothing to do with covid-19

And absolutely beautiful hotel at a beautiful location. Not only is this a national treasure it's also a testament to the great men and women of the United States military academy. The hotel in the rooms are magnificently decorated in each room as a dedication to an individual graduate. When there was a hiccup with the valet parking attendant immediately the hotel manager was called address the issue and handled the difficult situation with superior decorum. That was greatly appreciated. I look forward to return visit.

RVing. On checkin at West Point's military campground, The Thayer Hotel bar, Zulu Time, was recommended as a first meal in the area for the food and rooftop patio view. On arrival to this beautiful hotel, we were greeted in the lobby by Marquis at the front desk. All class and courtesy, Marquis directed us to the General Patton Tavern upstairs, and recommended we take a drink up another floor for the rooftop patio view of the Hudson River, as the rooftop bar was not yet open. Beautiful building, inside and out. Grounds well kept. Jason in the Patton Tavern took excellent care of us, personally interacting with the kitchen in care of food allergies. The food was great. The view of the Hudson River was beautiful.

The complaints I have is that I had to check out a day early and I only stayed there as a civilian on military business. I paid for both nights in advance and left prior to the second night. I visibly was not feeling well nor my 6 month old and the same manager that checked us in the night before was simply like, "Well you're still responsible okay?," with a big old smile.

On top of that, you had to pay for wifi, and there is not an accessible elevator for the M floor so we had to carry the stroller every single time up the stairs to the hallway to our room which was conveniently all the way at the end of the hall at M103. I clearly wrote two adults and a child under 2 were staying in the room, so I'm not sure what the miscommunication was. I would have take the employee elevator which was on the hallway to Floor 2 and took the hotel elevator down to the Lobby.

Most hotels at least provide bottled water in the room and there was not even that. Sure, the location is convenient but the hotel is very much not updated. The only saving grace are the restaurants which have delicious food - but those are separate entities than the hospitality I received at the hotel.

Beautiful outdoor wedding. The wedding itself was simply beautiful. The staff was superb. Every question was answered with a smile and they were very accommodating. Their food wasn't great however. Appetizers were fine but the main dish is the main reason for a lower rating. A few of us that ordered the fish found it to be dry and tasteless. Those that had prime rib said it was over cooked. Later on we went the bar downstairs. Everything there was about average.

Just inside the gate to West Point. Very easy in and out with valet. Rooms are well appointed and neat. Some minor blemishes, but none that detracted from our stay. Employees were helpful and courteous.
