I go there for work, and it is a suggestive place, for a tourist and to visit

It is worthwhile after visiting Piazza San Marco to continue this area of Venice. Just outside the most tourist areas, it offers an interesting view of the city

Magnificent renovated building where for centuries the Republic of Venice has built a fleet of ships that for centuries have sold the seas to conquer distant lands. On display is a stone lion a few meters high which would have been built in the 2nd century BC and which would have been of Greek origin and which the Venetians after various vicissitudes will be able to bring to Venice. Other lions of much lower weight and height are also visible but all with an ancient history. We recommend documentaries before visiting them or a guide tomorrow.

Ship hall very worth seeing. You should walk around the neighborhood. One of the less touristy corners in Venice. Good starting point for a walk to the Biennale site.

A lovely place, but even as a nautical history buff - I was under enthused. Invest your precious time in the other museums in Venice... It's not like there's a shortage of other wonders.

This area of the arsenal is very beautiful, rich in architecture and history. It's military so you can only look outside but it certainly deserves the walk to get there and take some pictures.

Beautiful place. It was not possible to access the inside of the arsenal and we only visited the Naval Museum: we could show much more!

Nice place to stay in Venice. Close to water bus stop. Lots of nice restaurants and coffee shops.

The Museum of Ships in Venice is worth a visit. It is unique and contains real models of commercial and warships from the history of Italy in general and Venice in particular.

From Veneziana d.o.c., visiting an exhibition of traditional boats was really exciting, too bad the museum itself is still closed for restoration.

Very nice externally, it's a shame that it is not much appreciated and frequented because of its position, and that the visits are only on reservation

Stumbles across this while wandering down towards the gardens. I was surprised by how quiet and peaceful this area is despite being right off the main walkway. Some of the area is closed because it s a military area, and we saw several police boats enter the canal while we were there. Right across the way is a maritime museum but even just on the piazza there are beautiful statues and architecture to see. If you re looking for a quiet place to wander to, this is a good one, then continue further down to the gardens and the restaurants nearby, because they are top notch!
