I go there for work, and it is a suggestive place, for a tourist and to visit
Truly beautiful, but in summer it must be horribly hot
Bialnalar n not entered into the only dis appearance but beautiful
Because of its historical significance in the construction of Venice
It is worthwhile after visiting Piazza San Marco to continue this area of Venice. Just outside the most tourist areas, it offers an interesting view of the city
Magnificent renovated building where for centuries the Republic of Venice has built a fleet of ships that for centuries have sold the seas to conquer distant lands. On display is a stone lion a few meters high which would have been built in the 2nd century BC and which would have been of Greek origin and which the Venetians after various vicissitudes will be able to bring to Venice. Other lions of much lower weight and height are also visible but all with an ancient history. We recommend documentaries before visiting them or a guide tomorrow.
Ship hall very worth seeing. You should walk around the neighborhood. One of the less touristy corners in Venice. Good starting point for a walk to the Biennale site.
A lovely place, but even as a nautical history buff - I was under enthused. Invest your precious time in the other museums in Venice... It's not like there's a shortage of other wonders.
A place full of charm, history and stories, wonderful location for the Biennale but also above all for what it represents for Venice
This area of the arsenal is very beautiful, rich in architecture and history. It's military so you can only look outside but it certainly deserves the walk to get there and take some pictures.
Beautiful place. It was not possible to access the inside of the arsenal and we only visited the Naval Museum: we could show much more!
Nice place to stay in Venice. Close to water bus stop. Lots of nice restaurants and coffee shops.
A fantastic place full of history and memories. With guided tours at night it makes this place even more impressive
With cabbage "tourist attraction" if not, if you visit it because of military servitude ... that if you are ashamed, gnanca that we were still in the age of guera freda ... that I put only a pious addition, stuff that you slam on me!
Beautiful imposing night just superbly illuminated.
I do not know what is behind these walls, but they look impressive!
Dear military, if you have something to poke, do not tamper with, curl up the curiosity of the tourist ...
The facade seemed to be sculpted. and behind this fence there is some secret :)
Curious.
The Museum of Ships in Venice is worth a visit. It is unique and contains real models of commercial and warships from the history of Italy in general and Venice in particular.
Beautiful place in Venice
To visit absolutely
Beautiful Italian Architecture, was very nice to see.
You do not enter the arsenal, but it also looks good from the outside and is an excellent photo opportunity.
If you want to see history and ancient monuments go to Italy, but if you want to see history, along with sea, gandolas, culture, beautiful scenery and more, go to Venice, especially go to the Venetian Arsenal, look at the photos, they speak for there alone.
The arsenal of VENICE was the beating heart of SERENISSIMA, thanks to the work of the workers it predominated in maritime trade all over the world. Today it is home to MARISTUDI VENEZIA, a real specialization school for officers of the NAVY. Do not miss the occasions when guided tours are allowed inside.
Not crowded, cool architecture and shady area to chill
Seen only from the outside, it recalls the military arsenal and the first access points to the city, nice
Wonderful historic place, lot of events are hosted here
The slums that surround Arsenal are much more interesting
Quiet and beautiful! Really must see. For travellers not tourists.
A must to visit or pass by even if only in front of you. The Venice Arsenal was the first "state" company in Europe. This is to give a fleeting idea about the importance it has played in history
This place, from the twelfth century was very important for Venice, was built to give greater impetus to the development of shipbuilding.
In the most prosperous period for the Serenissima, many large ships were built, which were used for the commerce and for the control of the seas and therefore had to plow the Mediterranean sea and the Atlantic Ocean.
Because of its modern conception and organization, it can be considered a sort of factory, in the modern sense, of specialization of roles and sequences of phases for the complete assembly of the product.
The entrance to the mainland is through the splendid portal of the fifteenth century, on the top of which there is a large lion symbol of the city.
The entry from the sea to the ships takes place through two large and tall towers of the seventeenth century.
The whole setting, which is completed with many statues as an ornament, is an unforgettable spectacle.
Since 2013, the property has passed to the municipality of Venice.
An extraordinary building, an opportunity for the coolest photo. Pretty impressive as the whole of Venice)
A city to fall in love with, a wonderful city, second wedding venue :)
From Veneziana d.o.c., visiting an exhibition of traditional boats was really exciting, too bad the museum itself is still closed for restoration.
the castle of venice, wanting to have one. immense construction site of possible past. pity to have still inside the flower of military gerontocracy :)
Very nice externally, it's a shame that it is not much appreciated and frequented because of its position, and that the visits are only on reservation
Stumbles across this while wandering down towards the gardens. I was surprised by how quiet and peaceful this area is despite being right off the main walkway. Some of the area is closed because it s a military area, and we saw several police boats enter the canal while we were there. Right across the way is a maritime museum but even just on the piazza there are beautiful statues and architecture to see. If you re looking for a quiet place to wander to, this is a good one, then continue further down to the gardens and the restaurants nearby, because they are top notch!
One of the most beautiful and trendy places especially during the biennial, huge spaces and old converted industrial buildings
Nice to get away from the crowd, open space, lovely architecture
It 's impressive building of the arsenal of Venice and well represents the most prosperous period in the life of the Venetian Republic where larger ships and beautiful era were built.
Suggestive the two towers viewed from the side of the land gate.
Among the many things to visit in Venice, the arsenal cannot be missed.
One of the most characteristic neighborhoods of Venice
You can not go to see the arsenal, but it is a very peaceful place compared to the rest of Venice
Very relaxing a peaceful haven in the hustle and bustle of Venice
And only the external elements of the old Venetian shipyards give the visitor the right image of the great naval force.
Due to the relatively long distance from the center of Venice, tourists of one or two days usually do not have a visit to the Venetian shipyards in their program.
Beautiful, but without a good guide you can enjoy a small part.
Walking at night around the biannale without the crowds. Wonderful.
Stunning building featuring 3 lion statues, two of which seem to have had their heads replaced over the years, one of which is something to behold..
