It is one of the most evocative and mysterious places in Venice!
A hidden and characteristic corner of Venice, more peaceful than other points
It has just the right amount of wind so that it keeps you cold in a hot summer
The exhibition takes place every two years and we were very fortunate to be in Venice this summer. I was very delight and impressed with the exhibition! We can interact with the objects and you can really feel part of it. Your mind is completed focus while you are visiting la Bienale! I recomend it to everyone who are in Venice. It is not expensive if you think about the amount of things that you will see and learn! Very well organized! Congrats to everyone that were involved in this event! The exhibition finish in November 25th 2018.
Very hidden there is a small shipping museum nearby. Entry only 5 .
On the occasion of the march "up and down the bridges of Ve, we passed near the arsenal. A suggestive place.
One of the most beautiful views of Venice, perhaps little known by most tourists, but certainly a must for those who love the most beautiful city in the world! Venice is unique!
Very nice full of culture and everything, yes, and a place to visit
Really interesting even if you only see the entrance! Worth the detour !
A magnificent building with a largely reasonable crowd even in the middle of August
The most beautiful part of Venice, I love the peace that is breathed, both in summer with its terraces and in winter it is ideal
Today the beauty of this place with its unique lagoon flavor gives those who observe it carefully a sea of new emotions. An enchanted world where time does not seem to exist. Every inch of stone is a discovery. Good trip to all
Military naval arsenal restricted access to non-military, interesting architecture, and a good place to photograph both the place and the family a quiet but very interesting neighborhood, in short if you get lost in the streets of Venice you will surely find it
Beautiful evening in Venice with its wonderful fires
Silly me! I thought this was actually going to be an arsenal with a museum related to navel warfare and weapons. That is basically the most critically significant portion of Venetian history. The Louvre in Paris has a great exhibit on arms and armor. Beretta's claim to fame is how in 1526 they sold barrels to the arsenal. Venice is sort of missing an opportunity to provide some added value history to the average tourist here. I honesty was incapable of the thought that what was in my mind did not actually exist and by accident I paid 25 euros to go into the modern art museum, which was housed in some of the old arsenal buildings. Though I do appreciate art, I would have to say you pass on this area unless you have already done any and everything else there is to do in Venice. At least don't mistake this for what I did.
PS - There is a boat museum of sorts located in this area. It contains a few old patrol boats, gondolas, and other small boats. It costs 5 euros, but would not be worth the trip to get there from one of the major areas of Venice.
A show!
Steeped in history, immersed in the splendid Venice it certainly represents a source of pride, the symbol of the powerful Venetian Republic in the times when it was the largest arsenal in the world!
The cost of entry makes the mediocre view not worth it honestly. The gift shop was half decent.
A fantastic Venice in this place too! What can I say?
Years ago I visited the naval historical museum, which today is obviously closed! It remains to be seen 4 pitiful ships of the last century at the boat museum! And where are the galleys? What about galeazze? ! Those ships pride of the Serene Republic? What sadness!
Always good to go from the arsenal on the occasion of the biennial, whether it is art or architecture is always stimulating
Historic site well preserved and reused. Events and exhibitions have a particular and unique location.
I recommend you take a nice tour in naval history, there are boats from the first and second world war
Place that has all the history of the maritime power of Venice, to visit without delay.
possible that a. There is no place in Venice to sit down and if you sit down it will break you. boxes and make you get up?
THE ARSENALE DI VENEZIA IS ANOTHER JEWEL OF VENICE TO BE PHOTOGRAPHED ABSOLUTELY. EVEN IF IT'S A LITTLE THE ROAD TO GET THERE ON WALK IT IS WORTH IT. THE ENTRY OF SHIPS IS CHARACTERIZED BY TWO VERY PARTICULAR TOWERS, IN THEIR RIGHT YOU CAN FIND THE DOOR OF EARTH AND LION'S STATUES. A STAGE D 'REQUIREMENT FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS
Love Venice. My third trip and was just like the first!
One of the symbols of the splendor of the Serenissima Maritime Republic.
Beautiful. Hot in the summer. few bathrooms. they could open the shop to tourists.
It can only be seen from the outside because it is a military building
Visited the deposit where the bucintoro was housed then destroyed by the French after the treaty of campoformio
Silent and suggestive place. Stop, sunbathe, rest for a while in a setting full of charm and history
Another must see place, get there early in the day when there are fewer people around.
Unexpectedly quiet due to Covid but no less impressive!
Interesting. You can not access because it is military land.
Relocation of past surfaces to be enjoyed now and in the future
I liked it very much, I was for the Art Biennale and I must say that I discovered a magical place ... suspended between past and present, where the remains of the Arsenale interact perfectly with the new; given by the installation of fabulous works of art. The lagoon has a magnificent aspect in this area of the city because it contributes to the muffled effect that characterizes the area.
Arsenale was the end stop of my walk that morning. Worth seeing, some nice shady trees and a drinking fountain. A museum but I didn't have the time. Stop into as many of the churches as you can along the way. Arsenale is famous but you can't go in.
Beautiful old castle, which still belongs to the military today. So unfortunately not accessible, but a quiet section of Venice and worth a trip. From here you can start your journey of discovery far away from the crowds and enjoy the quiet / contemplative Venice
