It is not a popular spot in Venice for taking pictures but it led us to some very quiet spots along the canals for uninterrupted views. My recommendation is to go through the small alleys and see where you end up. It can be quiet rewarding as long as you have places saved on Google maps for easier navigation.
Nice to look at unfortunately you can only look from the outside because it is a military terrain
Venice's medieval ship yard and docks. Very interesting museums and buildings. Pensioners discounts in museums.
We only walked past but it was beautiful and quite quiet. We just walked through a bunch of canals around there.
One of the most evocative places in Venice. Very rich in history, worth a visit. If it is possible, it is better to visit it with a guide.

The Arsenale di Venezia is an ancient complex of shipyards and workshops that constitutes a very large part of the island city of Venice, at its eastern end. It was the heart of the Venetian naval industry from the twelfth century and is linked to the most flourishing period of the life of the Serenissima: thanks to the impressive ships built here, the Venetian Republic managed to counter the Ottomans in the Aegean Sea and conquer the northern European routes .

I find that a good part of the museum of ships looks absolutely abandoned, full of dust and with signs of decay. I believe that some restorations and a bit of make-up would not hurt either the exhibits or that of the museum and the city in general.
Great for events of all kinds, exhibitions and the like.

Beautiful to take photos of, you cannot go inside. There's a small cafe by the castle so you can relax with a drink

Charm and history. I had never been there and loved it. I think it should be valued more. There is so much potential to be able to express. Once restored, it returns all its beauty.

Not nearly as interesting for us as many of Venice's other sights and attractions.
It deserves to be visited with the guide. The initiative is called "Arsenale sotto le stelle". Ask for dates.

It is more than worth the walk from St. Mark's Square. Walking back through the small backstreets!
What an experience. The place was deserted because winter and it was fascinating and creepy at the same time. You can imagine people living and working here, everything screams "the workforce is living here, this is our place" when you are in Venice, go here
