Very nice and a little quieter than St. Mark's Square!

The history of the Republic of Venice, the history of Italy flow before your eyes, walking around the perimeter and also looking at the areas once inhabited by the arsenalotti. The access portal which is a masterpiece of sculpture. Some internal parts are accessible and allow you to become well aware of dimensions, structure and functions. And a few steps away, in close connection with historical museums that beat much better known foreign museums by content.

The Arsenale is an Amazing construction, really worth to walk in this part of Venice. Nice photogenic place where you can avoid the crowds of tourists.

Still a tourist site in Venice to visit with calm together with the Church of San Zaccaria, a true jewel of wonderful paintings.

The ancient maritime arsenal of the Republic of Venice, where military and commercial boats, artillery and weapons sent to the domains of the Levant were built to counter the Ottoman power. Now it hosts the Biennale. Among its best known buildings are the immense Corderie, the work of Antonio da Ponte, who designed the Rialto bridge.

Cool spot hidden on the back side of Venice. Not much to see since it is an active military post.

It is a historical environment. It hosts the art biennial and many other initiatives in order to revive this magical place that otherwise would remain abandoned.

This historical site in Venice, is a military area so you can not enter inside the "castle", a bit 'like us. There are two beautiful towers decorated and adorned input from various statues as well as the characteristic symbols of the Veneto. The pictures of this review for me to make a thousand words, to visit if you go to Venice.

Walkable distance from the Arsenale stop of the ferry. It is worth taking a leap to take some pictures at the gate and the facade. The arsenal cannot be visited inside.

Architecture is quite amazing in this place. The lions looks big and detailed. I would suggest visiting this place when you are in Venice.

Venice can be so beautiful and people empty. You just have to go to Arsenale and it will be wonderfully romantic.

So much material confused in various periods, little material on the Republic of Venice. A bust of Napoleon that nothing centers with the exposed material.

Definitely worth passing by when in Venice. Also some nice local restaurants nearby where the prices are much lower compared to the San Marco square.

The guided tour of the empty Arsenal is interesting and informative. The guide was very knowledgeable and passionate

Quiet spot but be cautious where you walk as militarised area. Good spot for photos on bridge flanked by two towers.

Beautiful place to visit, my kids had a great time. It was set up in a large space and inside there are also boats with large dimensions ...
I do not put the fifth star because a few meters away there is the submarine and in addition to not being visited, if not with notice and with a group, it is not even visible from afar ... if you look at it from google maps it is very close, but in the area military therefore not accessible.

If you have time it is worth a visit. It is an easy walk there from the water front (or from anywhere, Venice isn't exactly that big). A cool looking building and gate over the water.

Too big for the time I thought of dedicating it. I'm glad I saw it. Very beautifull. I recommend it also for the acceptable price (10 euros). Logically, I was interested in the subject, not for my daughter.

Lovely walk through Castello, away from the crowds. Het Arsenaal is centrally located here, but be sure to walk further along the quays towards the park

Less visited than other venues in Venice was very interesting

Seeing is believing, always from the outside obviously. As it is a military area, it cannot be accessed.

The other half of the main Biennale venues, this is much more based around the work of individual artists although there are several countries that have their 'pavilion' here. It's also an opportunity to see inside what used to be the largest factory in the world when it built innumerable warships for the Republic of Venice - a large chunk is still used by the Italian navy.

Too little to be the Maritime Republic par excellence.

The naval museum and the sailing ships on display are very beautiful. It is necessary to rearrange the interior of the structure a bit where in the late afternoon it is not clear because there is no lighting. I recommend going to see it, because it deserves, but in broad daylight.
