Neighborhood very nice, quieter. Beautiful exhibitions.

At the Arsenale I was born and raised. I remember as a child the boys older than me who in the summer dived and swam in the Arsenale canal just in front of the Porta da Mar, where the vaporetto of line two, the circular, passed then. How wonderful and how much envy they could for them.
Today swimming in the canals is impossible and forbidden, but that field with the magnificent entrance facade in the place frequented by Galileo and mentioned by Dante, a place of innovation in the shipbuilding industry from the Middle Ages to the sixteenth century, is a must-see stop for those who visit Venice also for the first time. The lions next to the entrance are magnificent and one of them (the one on the left) is very old and bears a spiral-shaped inscription on the side.

An incredibly beautiful place. Became immediately one of my new favorite places on this beautiful world! These warm colors day and night. The special light.

Nice and to see, positioned at a point where not many people pass.
It is not allowed to see much as the doors are open only to the staff, but the entrance with lions and towers are subjective.

The arsenal of Venice can only be visited on certain special occasions such as the carnival or the biennial. However, you can go to the entrance to the pools where you can see the interior of the pools and the door with its statutes.

Very ancient, it dates back to 1100.
For centuries it has been the key place of Venice's seafaring power..the place where its fleet was built !!
Expanded over the centuries, today it is partly managed by the Municipality, partly by the Navy and partly by the Venice Niennale.
You can freely access the open-air part of the North area from Monday to Friday, that of the Biennale (with ticket) while in the parts of the Navy only on certain occasions.

On the other side of the bridge, the naval museum is highly recommended, with two different entrances, one immediately beyond the bridge and the other with different exhibitions on Riva degli Schiavoni

It is very beautiful, but it is very hot in the summer to walk here. A lot of open space, which for Venice is almost a luxury.

Nice place to spend the afternoon. Nearby there is a park where you can have something cool on hot days.
It is a good place to catch water taxis.
And also to watch the sunset while having a drink on one of the terraces or eating one of the hundreds of tasty ice creams that are nearby.

Very beautiful, in a square is the facade, where you can see some statues in front.

there is a restaurant nearby, if you return there in the evening, you will not regret. backlit "Aarsenale" is transformed.

the monumental entrance of the Arsenal of the oldest shipyard in the world, acclaimed by Dante Alighieri, which is why there is a bronze bust that commemorates the visit made in this place. The interior is not visible because it is considered a military area, the exterior of the entrance is a veritable open-air plaster cast museum with several statues, some depicting lions coming from distant lands, and even a lion from the island of Delos fruit of a war booty.
