The arsenal remains a military base. Can not access it.
It is worth going through a piece and see this place great photos we have made there
Very lovely from the outside. I was lucky to stumble across the history of the place before visiting and although I couldn't do much more than stand and look, the timelessness impressed me.
Five amazing, unique, magical evenings dedicated to cinema on the boat. The event - the first Italian drive-in - took place from 28 July to 1 August. The singular location was the Arsenale Basin. Everything was conceived in full lockdown from a cultural proposal by young Venetians. It was a great success. The films screened touched upon the themes of the relationship between man / water / seafaring art. On the outer walls of the Arsenale a sculpture was placed that was on the facade of the church of Santa Maria delle Vergini or church of the Virgins, a religious building that has now disappeared.
For Venice, the place is very quiet. It is appreciable after the crowds in Saint Mark's Square. The building is in good condition and gives a fine example of military architecture. It was worth the walk to get there even if obviously it's a little less typical of the Renaissance than the rest of the city.
Charming from the outside. Too bad you can not visit!
Hidden gem away from the touristy side of Venice. In a quiet courtyard.
Historic site but military therefore protected and not visitable.
Well, magic in every corner, Venice, there is none for anyone!
Very beautiful architecture. I suggest to pay attention to the phrase on the left side ... a phrase taken from canto XXI canto of Dante. Dante in fact sets here the song XXI and XXII. Besides, Galileo also passed through here.
Beautiful structure within the historic city of Venice, reachable on foot from Piazza San Marco with a nice walk along the lagoon.
Although there is not much to see in this area, what there is is well worth it. If you have time to stop by to see its beautiful sculptures and walls, you will see that it is worth it! :)
The Arsenal takes you back in time. Features towers that give access to small boats,
of impact the arch with the statues of the lions that joins them.
Beautiful the marine museum which is located 2 steps from the arsenal. Highly recommended for history buffs like me!
The second institutional seat of the Biennale: a magnificent place that knows how to host contemporary art very well.
A must at the end of the Castello district very nice walk to go.
It is one of the places least visited by tourists, especially foreigners, and for this reason it allows those who visit it to enjoy it in full.
Surrounded by an unprecedented beautiful and above all deserted Venice!
Beautiful at night, but I have to go back because it deserves to be seen at best even during the day.
a short walk from San Mark and absolute tranquility
Worth a visit to the Museum, the guide is a nice gentleman, old sea dog, who guides you and explains the history of the arsenal and the various boats of the various eras inside
Inside is the military restricted area, visitors can only shoot the wall outside. There is a museum of marine history next to it, and the content is not very appetizing for ordinary tourists. The surrounding area is a quiet residential area, nothing to look at.
Great ! It reflects the organization of the Serenissima
Wonderful museum. Not all items are clearly explained in English though.
An oasis of tranquility in the middle of a crowded Venice. Besides, it's in a beautiful location!
Beautiful area for a walk overlooking the lagoon of Venice.
Superb front facade, representing several divinity from mythology.
it houses a paid museum of the characteristic historical vessels of the Adriatic. For the enthusiasts it is worth a visit. If you are lucky, the darsenaposteriore is also open, where sometimes boats are worthy of attention.
Great building, very nice to see from the outside, and there were very few people, is a bit off the beaten track, but definitely recommended.
A place full of history surrounded by excellent restaurants
Spectacular exhibition of architecture at the biennial. The Arsenal Palace is part of the exhibition for itself
Very interesting boats on display but that was about it. I would hv believed that Venice would have a bit more to show for their maritime heritage. Still worth a visit.
It's a nice place, though we've only seen it from the outside.
It is nice to walk around. There is nothing of much interest.
