Nice expierence but due to lots of people hard to get some quality time. Second floor mainly for kids.
Incredible interactive digital art display. I've been twice and will go again.
A wonderful, amazing museum. Can't tell how good it is. But definitely a masterpiece of modern art.
Very cool but can get quite exhausting with the amount of people and all the noise/light
Fun and over the top. Just like you would expect, highly recommend
amazing expo, it is totally worth spending half a day or more to explore the place. remember to charge up your phone or camera. because it is picture time
Tldr: Do not think twice to include in your itinerary even if you have limited time at hand. This has to be at the top of the list of Surreal places that I have visited till date. Its hard to describe the emotions / feelings that you experience at each of the exhibits. It's an out of the world experience. The exhibits play with your senses and make you do weird things. Every exhibit is unique not even border-line close to the other. Make sure to visit with ample time at hand to savour all the experiences.
We reached at around 5:30 and did not have to experience any queue's stayed till the end of day.
Ample of attractions for kids, adults, young & old. I'll definitely visit again & spend even more time.
The experience at this place is unexpectly good!
Just so you know, you need to queue before entering the museum (even you already have tickets in advance). Then after queuing this line you need to queue for the ticket entrance. I went there on Wednesday and I believed it took me less than 15mins to get into the actual museum.
Although the "lantern/lamp" room queue line can be quite long, other than that not much a time did for queuing. You can randomly find other rooms through out your walk. I didn't queue for the "nest" room cuz there's a long line too. Stayed for 2 hours, very nice experience .
While it certainly is very social media centered and great for photos, it was such a amazing exhibit even if you forgot a camera
Absolutely loved this place. Honestly, I came in thinking that a couple of hours should be enough time to take it all in, but once I got here, the amount of things to see here combined with some waiting that has to be done to see some of the exhibits extended my stay for an addition two hours. So ya, expect to stay here for at least 4-5 hrs. The place is huge!(or at least it feels huge). You basically walk in and are given the opportunity to just kind of wonder wherever you might go. And you really do have to kind of explore, otherwise you ll miss many of the somewhat hidden exhibitions. Every exhibit room displays something new and different from the others. Oh and one of the things I loved doing here is on the second floor. You ll have the chance to make your own animal/creature, scan it into their computer, and then see it roam around and even eat stuff!(or get eaten or stomped on). This is a must go recommendation from me, so don t miss it!
Nice museum but very inflexible and rude staff. Partly ruined the otherwise great experience.
Yes, there might be some waiting lines for certain rooms but it is worth it. We loved every single second of our visit. It was AMAZING! Congrats to the team who created the installations !!!
Great experience. Usually crowded. Super touristy. Some of the staff is a little rude.
Amazing and borderless place, with unexpected, yet magical rooms hidden in the walls. Make sure you find all of them!
The artworks are good, but it's extremely crowded. Just some rooms with black walls and some low-res projections (like typical projectors, it's ok if you don't mind). Good for kids and girls, but not that good for taking photographs (because of the people and the resolution).
If you are visiting i higly recomend visiting early as possible so you wont drown with the wave of people that ruins the immersion. It also had the longest line to lamp exhibition. Other then that its a well done twist for art inovation.
This is an immersive experience and worth a visit. It can get crowded at peak times though, so be prepared to wait depending on the time of day. They handle the crowds efficiently though.
An interesting experience. I think this place is especially good for those who enjoy Instagramming their experience or for kids because they offer fun activities like drawing a new creature to add to an exhibit. I will say, it somehow looks more amazing in videos/photographs than real life. Arrive before noon or book in advance! Especially on weekends.
5 star experience, If you could actually see the exhibits inside. After a long wait to get in you will find hour long waits to access the best experiences inside. They need a better crowd control system, maybe like studio ghibli does...
good place and interesting activity however too many people even we buy the ticket on line still wait for a hour.
Amazing experience... with many different innovations in visual and responsive animation effects. An exhibition with engaging visitor experience that you should not miss it in Tokyo!
You cant miss this! Amazing place. Was in there for 4 hours.
A nice place where you can enjoy colorful animation.
So much unique art, interactive and beautiful. You want to spend as much time as possible per room to see al the variations of the art per room. We loved the place and advice everyone to go there! It's not very crowded but expect for certain indoor attractions to wait at least half an hour, just do it! It's worth all the waiting. Also in most rooms there is an options to sit down and relax. If you are creative you are allowed to draw your own paint with crayons and see it come to life on a big wall.
A must see museum! If you are Tokyo/Odaiba don't miss it! A beutiful digital art museum. Different rooms have differet ways to display the art which can't be described with words. You have to be there to understand it
A must while in Tokyo.
Since it s very popular, it s very crowded on weekends. But its definitely worth the wait and money.
Eat something before entering because there s no re-entry option.
After visiting, there s a number of Japanese restaurants in Palette Town. Skips the Wendy s by the entrance. Because, come on... you re in Tokyo.
Really magical place, loved exploring all the different rooms. Does get busy so best to go early.
It's very elaborate. It's just personally I didn't quite get it... It's a huge screensaver on walls to me. Other people seemed to really enjoy it though.
Very nice exposition! Worth your money.
I thought that one hour would suffice to go through the museum, but we spend 3 hours inside and did not even see everything.
Go early to beat the crowds because then it loses it's charm quite a bit.
This was an amazing experience! The only downside was that it was a lot of people so it was difficult to see some of the exhibitions because it was just too crowded. One exhibition I didn't see because the cue had 1 hour of waiting.
Otherwise it was two floors of magic, art on the walls that followed you around. The entire place is very Instagram friendly so bring your best camera when going!
A visual and surreal masterpiece. Well done and fun for everyone. Can easily spend greater than 4 plus hours there!
The experience was fun and interesting. However, there is no map for the attraction so you need time to figure out how to experience all the areas. Be sure to take your time!
A mind blowing experience! If you are in Tokyo make this a must visit!
This place. Is amazing. You should really visit, you will not regret!
Be prepared to spend more than 3 hours to get the full experience! You'll need to wait to get a good photo.
This exhibit is extremely poorly managed from an operational perspective. We purchased tickets in advance and arrived around 11 am (about an hour after opening) the day for which we purchased. The line to just get into the exhibit, for ticket holders, was at least three blocks long--and that's just how far we could see it going. This was a day when the weather was about 45 degrees, raining, and windy. So they had a line of paying ticket holders 3+ blocks long freezing and getting soaked (save for what umbrellas protect) for hours before even getting into the exhibit. When we saw this, we also overheard a couple who was still about a half block from the entrance discussing how long they'd been waiting--and it was already a couple hours at that point. Upon witnessing all of this, we made the painful decision to turn around and leave. Clearly teamLab's goal is to sell as many tickets as possible without any consideration for how it might impact the experience for the paying customers. Their site does indicate that the exhibit can be "sold out" on a given date, but their threshold for selling out must be pretty high. I've also heard from people who have attended, as well as read reviews, where they say that even once you're inside, you still have hours of lines to wait in between all of the exhibits. To top it all off, if you're like us and have no desire to spend precious time on vacation waiting for hours in the cold and rain in a line, teamLab provides an extra slap in the face by refusing a refund. Their reason? They just decided they don't give them. So, unless you're willing to invest a huge chunk of a day on this, and know you're willing to see this exhibit despite a LOT of waiting around, then I don't recommend purchasing tickets. Really disappointing, because we were very excited to see Borderless.
What an amazing experience! Art takes another dimension. A MUST visit!
This was totally awesome. I've never experienced anything like it. Not to be missed!!!
The digital art displays are amazing and interactive. The lines for their more famous display are between 40 minutes to an hour wait. Over all, it's worth it.
Try not to go on a weekend - it's too crowded to properly enjoy the visuals and sounds.
Amazing art concept. Visual, tactile and aural experience. Will gladlt go again, I dont think I found all the rooms!
Fun way to spend a day. Many dynamic light exhibits, some interactive. Lines were long, so i was expecting a crowd inside but it was well managed and never overly crowded. Would have been great for kids, but fun for adults as well.
Very nice but very busy - slightly less busy about 5pm but the que for forest of love is so long so I didn t get to see it
Get here early and give yourself a lot of time. My only regret from my Japan visit was that we didn't have enough time to spend here and just soak in the atmosphere.
Great experience. We went right when they opened and it wasn't busy. Got right in and was able to take a lot of pictures without people in the background. It was a very cool experience. Nothing like this in states.
Contemporary art installation for millennials, very trippy and Instagramable.
Buy tickets in advance, wear shoes not sandals or heels and plan for three to four hours. Some exhibits can have a long wait during busy days, the longest was 45 minutes at 5pm on a Wednesday for me.
Amazing interactive experience! Reserve online a few weeks in advance. You will be lost in this place for at least 3-4 hours. Eat well before and bring some snacks, food options are limited in the area.
It s some of the one in a life time experiences. It s stunning. But it s so crowded.
Must do in Tokyo. Expensive, but totally worth it. Go in knowing as little as possible, only know that it is great to take pictures and make sure to drop off your big bags at the lockers (left at the entrance) before you go in. They told us the line to get in was 40 minutes, we got in within 10 minutes. With kids the Athletic Forrest should be the first on your list to visit.
First of it s kind in the Tokyo and also in the world. A must visit
Superb experience, spent almost 5h inside and were fully excited about the unique artworks. Highly recommended.
Really cool but nothing to eat(except 1200yen ice cream and tea) and there s no re-entry!!!
Stuff your face with Wendy s across the venue before going in. A must!
This was a really cool exhibit with so much to do! It's one of those places where you gotta see it to believe it. You can get dizzy inside some of the rooms, but they do have places to rest.
Great place. Need to queue for an hour for entry but absolutely worth it
Must visit place if you are in Tokyo. Got the early bird discount ticket for 2400yen against the regular price of 3200. Place is in odaiba next to the venus fort mall. Try visiting on a weekday as the weekends and holidays might be busy. There are multiple attractions in the museum and there is randomness in their occurance so what on sees is something which is unique and might not happen again ever. Photos don't do justice to the place and it's experience. There might be queues inside the museum for some attractions so be prepared to spend 3-4hrs. Lot of things for the kids/adults you can draw your creatures and see them scanned and floating around for everyone to see. One shouldn't miss this.
Great displays but felt rushed to find all the exhibits. When you find them you have to line up for 20-40mins...
Hundreds of projectors presenting moving and interactive light show on lots of 3d surfaces. Places to jump, climb balance and throw upstairs.
It is just awesome. Make sure to arrive early and go to the lamps and the web before people start arriving.
Our group went to both Team Planets and Team boarderless. I preferred Team Planets to be honest. You only need to do one. They are both really similar places. Great pictures to be had in both!
The teamlab exhibition was extremely awe-inspiring and eventful! Would recommend everyone to go if they have the opportunity. The waiting times were pretty reasonable and the staff were extremely helpful.
If you enjoy instagramming and waiting for others to instagram this is the perfect place. The art was a good effort but would be better suited as an exhibit within a modern art museum. Too many people which ruin the experience. There was almost no line to enter, however each room was filled with people on their phones. Wish there had been more activities for adults, parents deserve to have fun too.
This museum was absolutely amazing. I felt I had to visit a second time with people other than myself, which made the experience even more intense. I would highly recommend visiting for a day out! It's worth every yen.
Considering how expensive the ticket was, and the need to book in advance, I expected to visit the exhibition with comfort and quiet. There were a lot of people in each rooms that always laughed and shout and them make physically impossible to visit all exhibition due the queue long more than 1 hour. I'm very upset having spent my time and money for this.
A magical amazing place , takes a good 2 to 3 hours to get through , take a bottle of drink ! Hint it's busy , but there is a lull in traffic around 4pm ,
Good fun, but not a must-do. We went on a Friday evening, taking advantage of the late opening. It was great to be able to roam around and explore. Possibly better suited for people with young kids. The family area was amazing and looked really engaging. I think the TeamLab Planets exhibition is just as good as this museum, and less congested.
Unique museum with beautiful moving artwork. Be prepared to stand in line for an hour to get in, even with an advance reservation ticket. We spent 3 hours here and still missed one room.
Amazing experience. There was a lot of people the day I went but everything was quick and the staff was very helpful and speak English.
Great visual experience, try go midweek as early as possible as it gets very busy. Take your time and explore all areas at least once
One of the most beautiful museums I have never visited! Highly recommended
Really disappointed ... I. Have been there last June, it was cool... But Now !!!! Wahooow... it is juste a Touristic place... too bad... Bad bad organization : 2h to go inside, no inside map, etc... it is like Disney Land ( which is better !!!): a shame for TeamLab !!! I m so sad... because I m a big fan of there work since 20 years... it is still OK for tourists, Not for Artists !!! That all !
Fantastic new teamlab museum. Crowds are difficult to avoid. Bying tickets in advance is a must
Fantastic experience! A must-visit when in Tokyo. But remember to buy tickets in advance.
It is a unique museum. But if you have limited time, not worth going esp not for the price. Some rooms have long waiting time (30min+). Also the app doesn't work.
One of the best at experiences I have had, not photo friendly, more for the experience rather than social media friendly. It was worth every yen I paid. I highly recommend this digital Art museum. Expect to spend 3+hours here
An absolutely wonderful experience. The music that accompanied the exhibits was also spot on. As they advertise, every room is different every time you visit, as the art moves from room to room. I've reentered the huge waterfall room about an hour or two after the first time I went in, and the display was completely different. You could easily spend an entire day here, or at least an entire afternoon.
Be sure to get your tickets online beforehand!
A very impressive series of digital exhibits. A truly unique experience. The second floor is great for children.
Beautiful experience. Should actually spend 4-5 hours visiting everything twice because they keep changing. Go with your girlfriend/boyfriend, it will be more fun actually.
It wasn't as I imagined it to be as there are some things that you cannot see since it is at a timely basis.
You get quite lost, so if you have kids with you, bring them or hold their hands.
At first I thought this place was a gimmick- I take it back completely. It s stunning, I won t post more photos as I do not want to ruin it effect any experiences. There s a couple of rooms that are harder to find but if you google it it ll come up- I don t recommend it though.
Loved it! The themes in each room were so pretty and it was fun to explore. Can easily spend a few hours there. Best to go earlier in the day before it gets too crowded. Book ahead of time! The upper floor with the lights is a must
Pros: kids friendly, beautiful artwork.
Cons: too crowded (sometimes 45-min long queues inside to experience one instalation). In total you need 4 hours if you want to wait on queues to see everything including tea house.
Tip: night tickets are cheaper but if you have bought tea in your ticket try to plan that in middle of your visit because they close it earlier than other sections.
Awesome digital art exhibition. It tends to get very crowded, so arriving early on weekdays makes sense. Avoid on weekends as the lies especially for the special ehibition rooms tend to get so long that you end up doing only part of the exhibition, which would be very sad.
teamLab Borderless are rather remote, the entrance is just behide the carpark. We reached around 11am and took us 1hr to reach the entrance.
Do check the weather forecase and prepare umbrella or necessary clothing to wait and Q at un-sheltered area which I think is minus point for such descent place.
Last but not least, some popular 'Lab' still need to queue again. Overall my kids were enjoy very much, if time permitted, do consider for a whole day trip at teamLab.
Creative art museum with the most amazing artwork exhibits. Free to roam around and explore the rooms. Highly recommend visiting an hr before it opens as lines start before opening time. Lines can get very long to enter.
We had a great time here, it was very interesting. We didn't think we'd be there long, but we ended up being there for hours and still didn't see everything. To be honest it is more of an all day thing, or at least half a day. This place is huge and by the time we left we were a bit exhausted from walking around all day and waiting in line for some of the popular attractions. Well worth going, just be prepared to do a lot of walking and waiting.
Insane. Lots of people instagramming, but plenty of quiet spots to find
I went during summer and this place is indoors = cool air and it's also very pretty :0
Amazing use of technology, by placing projectors all over and emitting special views
Great experience and not to crowded. Well organized venues with a lot of visual effects.
Super fun and futurist! Worth the price and wait. Although, it is a little out of the way. (You have to go through the Toyota showcase to get to the entrance)
