This was one of the best experiences I had in Japan. The art was really impressive, from wall to wall, and floor to ceiling, everything was art.

There were interactive exhibits and places for children, and many hidden away rooms that you might miss if you aren't paying attention.

If you're going to be in Tokyo, don't miss this museum!

An amazing digital art museum that provides high quality enjoyment for people of all ages. Be aware that the gallery is massive and it would not be difficult spending a half to full day here. No food on site and no reentry possible, so plan accordingly. Is regularly a long wait time to enter (e.g. 30-60 minutes)-but worth it.

Definitely a must go when you re in Tokyo, everything felt really magical. We spent a few hours there but it can be really crowded and as it gets closer to close time, they minimise the time you re able to spend in the lantern room which is unfair as people before get more time to take photos. Time management needs to be better and more signs in the building as room directions weren t very clear

Museum of light more like museum of lines, takes an hour and a half to get in and once you re in takes another hour or so again in line for any significant peice. It s pretty no doubt about it but is it worth all the waiting around? Make that decision before you go.

I love this place. You can expect what you can see in the official web, and spare at least 2 hr to explorer. I personally spent almost 4 hrs. As some show are required long wait time. The 2nd floor are super kids friendly. If you are traveling with kids. They will definitely love it.

Very disappointed. Thought it was going to be an awesome interactive experience, however, it was just 90% projectors. Only room that met expectations was the hanging LED lights. Unfortunately we left feeling very underwhelmed, not worth the money. If all projections were interactive it would be 100% worth it.

Incredible exhibition using light and sounds. We ended up showing up later on, which helped with the lines and getting around inside. My most important tip here would be to take your time, as there are many installations that are not easily found or shown how to enter it. Check every corner, up stairs, and behind drapes to explore everything this place has to offer.

Loved this experience. I was expecting it to be underwhelming like other interactive art pop ups in New York, but this one was truly creative and simply beautiful. I loved how the art changes in certain rooms depending on where you stand. We had a great time roaming around (2-3 hours total). Highlights were drawing our own trucks and seeing the 3D versions come out on the wall, the light show room with intense head bopping music, and the net where we got to relax. One of a kind! We went on a Tuesday morning at 11am and the lines weren t too bad. Lots of families and kids!

Amazing experience! Lots of different exhibits to check out. The floating nest is not worth the long wait, you go into the room for roughly 3 minutes and can wait more than 60 mins for it. The athletic forest is extremely interactive and a good time for all ages. There's also specific areas for young children where they can engage in seperate activities.

This exhibit was pretty awesome. Great exhibits that are interactive and constantly changed. I especially liked the ones that you drew a picture and it was incorporated into the exhibit. There was a terrestrial area and a marine exhibit that my kids loved.

There was even an area with a rope bridge challenge and a sort of rock climbing experience for adults and kids.

Overall a great experience and one that I hope will make it to Los Angeles so me and the family can see it again!

Absolutely fantastic. I have not experienced anything like this. It's brilliant how digitally interactive it is. We were inside for only 2 1/2 hours but got to see most of the rooms. The popular ones had lines with wait times in excess of an hour, so we had to forego them. If you want to see the whole exhibition you'll need to allot for an entire day. We showed up on a weekday and had to wait about 30 minutes just to get in, as it was jampacked with tourists.

The only negative, which by no means is at the fault of teamLab Borderless, is that an increasing number of tourists have absolutely no concept of awareness. Too many come just to take selfies for Instagram. The problem arises when others cannot experience the exhibition because someone claims the walking path as their personal photo-shoot space.

Was unaware prepurchased tickets were required. Very unusual for a art exhibit, costly waste of time. Would have helped if the website would have loaded for myself or travel companions through the day.

Went there at 12noon and the line to get in was already on the sidewalk. Line was moving though and we were in after an hour. I suggest going there at an earlier time as it is still a place worth visiting :)

Very unique experience! We thought going there near closing time would mean less crowd but nope! There wasn't a line when we get there at 7pm but there were still many people inside. They have lockers for bags and umbrellas. And also an area to "park" and lock your luggage to a railing near the lockers.

It's a great activity but waiting time can make it a bit of an obstacle to enjoy the exhibit. Even if there are a lot of people though, there are still many ways for you to throughly enjoy the exhibit. I recommend this for kids and kids at heart.

I went on Thursday, around 4:30pm. They said 20mins wait for Forest of Resonating Lamps so I waited in the line but it took about 40mins actually. We didn t have to waste our time if we knew this. Another popular exhibition was 1 hour wait, so we gave it up. I can t understand why they don t announce about this before purchasing the ticket or just simply let us know at the gate.

One in Toyosu that I went last year was way better and less stress.

I bought a night pass, which can be used after 6 PM until 9 PM and it's 1000 yen cheaper.

Didn't get to see everything, but it was still a nice experience. There are many different activities for the childish souls. If you have kids, it's a must see!

Like another reviewer here already mentioned, the photos look muck better than the real thing. I was disappointed. If you want a proper light exhibit in Tokyo go to the Roboto Restaurant instead.

Amazing art exhibit, loved the net one the most.

Amazing art exhibit, loved the net one the most.

Few too many Instagram posers here though, nothing wrong with a quick selfie but taking up a large amount of space so you and your friends friends can take turns photographing each other is a bit ridiculous.

Place is awesome. Kid friendly, photographers dream, euphoric. Unreal experience.

One thing I must say, it s overly busy (which makes sense, it s the best thing in Tokyo). Pretty much if you don t arrive early and aren t the first one in, expect to wait in lineups for each exhibit that can be upwards of an hour long wait and people will be all up in your shot. The place opens at 10am, I got there at 9am on a Monday and waited until it opened and there was already a 200 person long line, once the doors opened up it was a half hour wait to get in and no lines for the exhibit except a 10 min line for the lantern room and a twenty minute line for the floating nest room. Once I was done and I was leaving the amount of people packed in that entire place was messed up some people were waiting 2hrs for the lantern room and you have two minutes to get the perfect shot.

Arrive early to enjoy, go in off season or during the week.

Very mind boggling exhibits that really test your senses, the only downside I had with it is that it closes so early. 7 pm is just not enough time to explore. So go early if you want to see it all!

One of the best places I have been in my tour to Tokyo. If you have around half a day to spend around, this place is a must go. Composition of light projection and music makes this magical place out of the world. The amount of technology and mathematical programming that has been put behind this enormous light museum is really astonishing. If I get back to Tokyo again, not even thinking of skipping the chance of visiting this place for the second time. Money spent totally worth it.

Super cool and worth the price! Keep in mind that despite booking tickets that day, you may still have to wait in line to get in - but they move pretty quickly.

My only compliant was having a bit more of a navigation system inside (or atleast provide you with a bit of a map) alot of the special exhibits were super hard to find and it was confusing that once you go upstairs, we couldn't figure out how to go back down. We also almost missed 3 massive exhibits because we were confused trying to figure out where they were.

But nonetheless, SUPER cool and super worth the money! Expect to spend hours here!!

Can't rave about this place enough! So interesting. Artworks that learn via AI. You can even contribute to the art. Artworks move from.room to room and it's a full sensory experience. Terrific place for kids. Expect to spend at least half a day here (some of it in queues)

Demolished my exceptionally high expectations. This is a must see, even if you have to give up your first born child. But hopefully you can keep your child, because this place is great for kids too!

Amazing place. For kids, adults. They build an amazing universe full of lights and music, creating an unforgetable experience. Its a must for sure. Expect to be there at least 4 hours to experience it all. We also skipped the kid attractions whivh can keep you busy for another hour or two easily.

There are literally no words to describe this experience. It was art that transcended norms and boundaries, completely sensory and alive. The moment you enter, you are transported to another dimension where you become a part of the art around you. I feel like I did not pay enough for the quality I got. The exhibit has no map and you need to find the rooms yourself, so make sure to breathe the experience in and allot at least 2 hours to truly enjoy. I went right near closing so the crowd was decent, but I've heard it gets packed earlier in the day so schedule your visit accordingly.

Fantastic exhibition! Could spend hours and hours as everything is constantly changing and it's like a maze of lights. Then when you think that you've seen everything and it's time to start to go, you get to the Athletic forest where there is even more to do!

Absolutely loved this digital museum. One of a kind spot. Can spend anywhere from 1h-2.5h depending how invested you get in the exhibits. Went to the tea area & it was 500 yen each for a cup, which felt reasonable. However, my husband hates tea & as such was not allowed to enter the tea area. This was somewhat annoying as it was not busy & there were plenty of seats even for those not wanting tea. There were no other drink options other than tea.

Such a ool place and experience. Well worth it the line was wrapped around the building outside. They told us about 1 hour long. And pretty much spot on. We were in in 55 min.
Our time inside was fun. Unique experience!

The teamLab Borderless was easily the coolest art/visual installation that I've ever seen! It's a huge space to walk through with many different rooms and types of art pieces. There's a big area upstairs for the kids that I even enjoyed and the overall experience is something I won't forget.

They allow WAY TO MANY PEOPLE inside at once. You ll have to wait in line to get in - and when you finally get in, you ll wait up to an hour to enter specific rooms. Yes, the exhibition is beautiful and defiantly Insta-worthy. But they should really consider giving people certain time slots when buying ticket online in advance to spread the masses out. Expect to spend 4-5 hours here - including waiting for 2-3 hours in line... the entrance fee is quite fair though.

A super interactive art museum that fully immerses you in the exhibits. Easy to spend half a day here, worth the ticket and the train ride over. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes as some of the exhibits are a bit of exertion required... (Especially the bouldering exhibit)

And stop by the tea house for a neat experience and some great tea!

It was a really interesting and unique experience. I love all of the exhibits which were very interactive. I would suggest going early as in the evening the wait for some of the exhibits were over an hour wait.

Closed! Google maps shows it is opened today. I am here and the sign say it is closed every second and fourth Tuesday of the month. The should have this on heir webpage. Ugh!! Took 2 hours and four trains to get here with my daughter

It's not a friendly place for people to take rest especially for preganent women. I can understand they try to let you walking everywhere to get difference experience therefore there is no maps. But some exhibition are not suitable for preganent women they can't provide any chairs for you to wait for your family and friends. And you are not allow to sit on the floor too. If I leave the exhibition exist it's really to meet your family and friends(due to hard to tell where is the rest area you will go)

Probably my favorite spot on my Tokyo Trip. It was such a unique experience and getting to wander from room to room and experience to experience without really knowing what you were looking for was great. We didn't pre-order tickets, we bought day of "extras". The wait was decent to get in and then inside the actual art space there were long lines to get inside certain rooms but it's well worth the wait.

This place is stunning!

This place is stunning!

A bit expensive but definitely worth it!
It is a journey for all senses, you see, hear and feel this place. Felt like a big playground for everyone mixed with a Alice in wonderland and twenty thousand leaks under the sea.

Got a bit bored after half an hour strollong at the 1F. The lamp forest and the LED curtain were very good. Lastly, had a difficulty to find exit. Asked the staff where the exit was but was answered : 'it is same place where you got in'. Not a helpful answer..

Reminder:

Reminder:
1. Must wear White colour - nice pictures!
2. Must go in the morning - less people
3. Enjoy tea time

This place is obviously something special. I think it s a bit overpriced, but the creators understand our innate human desire to interact with art. It s like selfie paradise. Unforgettable.

The artwork and digital illumination is beautiful here, but lineups can be insane if you go during a busy tourist time, or any of Japan's national holidays. In the first week of January, with pre-paid tickets, I waited one hour to get in, and then several exhibits had a wait of 30-60 minutes. I saw about 60% of the displays in 3.5 hours and decided not to wait in another 1 hour line, so I ended up missing one of the most interesting/photogenic rooms. If I wanted to see everything, it would have taken 5 hours. Also, you can't enter the exhibit more that once, so there's no way to take a break for lunch, or until the crowds die down or whatever.:(

I d highly recommend visiting. It s not cheap but it s different to other experiences so overall the value was great. It was very interactive and fun. The rooms are different. You feel involved. There tends to be queues but most rooms are worth the wait and I d advise setting aside around 2 hours (1.5 hours at least to factor in queue times) to experience and enjoy the museum. They also have wifi and you can download their app which then provides more information about the room you visit (it s also quite nice to read while waiting).

A great day out for tourists and foreigners who want to understand the Japanese aesthetic. It's a blend of an art installation but also a showcase for Japanese technology. A must for those visiting Tokyo for the first time.

Loved every bit of it. Very fine instructions to reach this place right from the station. Follow the instructions and you will reach. Once there ample support and infrastructure is in place to further excite you for the experience. It has huge area and the artworks are great. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Clear instructions at all times makes it quite easy and relaxed. The athletic forest area is nice and specially the zone where you can colour with crayons different fauna and they scan it and it appears on the screen doing jumps and movement brings out the child in you. Forest of lamps is a great spot to look at click some amazing pics however the wait time is huge and the time to be spent there is very less. Overall a good experience and would recommend folks to visit.
