The five-star rating says it all. I was shopping for a car after another drive totalled out my vehicle. My family has been buying cars from this location for over 20 years, and it was finally my turn. Jake Fleming, the salesman who ultimately sold me my vehicle, is the best out there. He is highly approachable and definitely not pushy. Being a college student, I do not have a lot of money to throw around, but, with Jake, negotiations proved beneficial to both parties and proceeded effortlessly. I cannot rave enough on how pleased I am with my purchase and my experience with Jake. If anyone was in need of a vehicle, I would strongly recommend that he or she meet with Jake before seeing anyone else.

The first time we came here the salesman we dealt with was very shady. He said we could take a car home and sleep on whether or not we wanted it, the next day we found out that the car was ours whether we wanted it or not! (It's a good thing we wanted it!) The service department takes forever for everything, even an oil change! Our car has gotten an inspection done here before, but when we thought about trading it in, they said we needed new brake pads and a whole list of other things done to it. Due to not having enough money and Toyota's overpriced service charges we didn't get anything done to it. The next time we brought it in the brakes sounded rough like they were grinding and the inspection came back that we just needed some lights and windshield wipers replaced! Mind you, this was after we specifically told them to check out our brakes! They even verbally told us nothing was wrong with our brakes!

One of the worst buying experiences I ve been through. I have bought 3 separate vehicles from Toyota of Merrillville and they are where you wanna go instead of this dealership. The sales staff/finance staff is unprofessional. They called and left a message for one price then lied. They ended up honoring the price but not before a big fight with Rick the salesman who s a straight up slimeball. Oh well, been to many dealerships in the area with much better experiences.
We ve had a lot of car buying experiences. This was the first ever that every action seemed to be with the customers best interest in mind. Our sales associate, Amyla Wooden, was simply incredible from the time we walked in the door until the time we drove out with our 2021 Highlander replete with matching bow and balloons. I ll admit I was surprised that this young lady possessed a full knowledge of her craft from the financial aspect to a detailed grasp of seemingly every minute feature of our car and I do not doubt, every vehicle on the lot! It's a car dealership, they are there to make money,understandable. But I have looked at 3 vehicles there now and every time they have been cars with small to major issues for a premium price. If I wanted a new Toyota I would go there and check it out but,there used cars probably aren't worth a long ride. The staff is nice, won't give up on them but not likely to return, 3 strikes I'm out!

I have been purchasing and servicing my new car vehicles with Team Toyota since 2002. I have seen a lot of personnel changes, but for the most part they seem to have found a great team. My recent service experience with Toyota Total Care was uneventful. I know from experience that if you have an issue where you feel you were unjustly treated...management personnel WILL MAKE IT RIGHT! There really isn't an excuse for a bad experience. Someone will make it better.
Purchased a used vehicle later to find it was in two accidents and had 4 previous owners. I asked twice if the car had a clean car history and was told that it did. It was my first time shopping for a vehicle so I didn't bother to demand to see the history of the car, I just went by the salesman's word. I didn't expect to be lied to. Will not be returning to team Toyota in Indiana for a future car purchase.

I had a great experience at this Toyota dealership, best dealership thus far. From its customer service, dealers, a large variety on vehicles, and deals. I had been shopping around and looking at a couple of other dealerships, this one won my heart. they actually let me look, with out pushing me too run a credit check, or pushing for a buy. they give you the proper customer service, they dont just try and sell u, they work with you. I personally dealt with Said, a dealer at this Toyota location, whom made my car buying process smooth, easy and incredible. HORRIBLE SALESMAN & SALESMANAGER, They lied to us & told us all they have available was one 2015 Sienna which was way over priced. When we asked to test drive a 2018. They literally tried to push this vehicle on us, telling us one lie after the other. To add to it a day later they called several times to say the vehicle dropped in price. One star is NOT worthy of them. Do yourself a favor & NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH SCHEREVILLE TOYOTA!
Good people to work with if you pay for service. I been there many times for general maintenance like cooling change, brake fluid change and serpentine belt. Oil change are a good price compare to the Duke of oil where they charge me 10 more because my car takes too much oil. I like it they give you vehicle reports. I wish they gave me my alignment specs. I be coming back for some other things.

I bought a used 2011 Toyota Prius..I am dissatisfied with the dealer and Toyota. First because, after the deal was made they told me they only had one key. I then learned it would cost will over $400 for another key, I can buy a laptop computed for far less than this. I this is an incredible rip-off bsssy Toyota. I would not have bought a Toyota or dealt with this dealer as a result.
A week later when picking up the documents to get it registered I find that I had a maintenance contract as well as a contract for extended warranty I purchased. I had no desire to purchase a maintenance contract and feel I was conned by the finance guy...............
Seemed like the man (Rick) we talked to about a white Toyota Tacoma didn't want to do business.. He was pretty set on one price only.. Thats alright though because we took our business to Merrillville Toyota dealership.. Same price but. Ken wanted to do business with us and gave us what we wanted for the price that was reasonable! If you have any problems with this dealership... Go to the one in Merriville and ask for Ken... He wants his customers to be happy and makes sure you get a good deal!

My rep was a great guy. The first person who greeted me was one of the professional mechanics which was really impressive because they usually walk past everyone. He brought me to the service member who listened to my prior experience at this other location in Calumet City, IL. However, they finished the job within an hour and my car was completely satisfied. They mentioned they were top 5 in the Nation and they definitely proved it.

Pretty poor experience overall which left me very unhappy. I went in to purchase a used car, which seemed like a good deal based on the test drive and what Caleb told me about the car. Within two days of buying the car and leaving the lot, I discover multiple problems with the vehicle. The head lights began to frequently go out, as if there was a short in the wiring or a bad connection. The "smart key" system failed within two days of buying the car, and the "low pressure" sensor that was one (which I was assured was just a dummy light and there was no problem) indicated that the front left tire was not holding air. Furthermore, the back lift gate of the car had some black rubber material over the handle, clearly acting as some cheap patch job. I only found this out after the fact, as the salesperson opened the back lift gate and never revealed this cheap patch job, even after inquiring about any issues or defects with the vehicle. There were also other issues with the car, such as the cruise control not working. Admittedly, this is something I should have checked, but anyone who knows the traffic in this area knows how hard it would be to check this feature. Upon returning to the dealership, they told me I would need to pay for the inspection of these issues and then also pay for any of the work that would be required to fix these problems. I feel as if they were very dishonest with me when I inquired about the car, did a absolutely terrible job inspecting the vehicle, and then did an even worse job about trying to resolve the issues when they were brought to their attention. This may be an okay place to buy a new car under full warranty, but be aware of buying a used car from this place. IF you do, I highly suggest taking it to an outside mechanic and having it inspected before doing so. I wish I would have done the same.
In the past, my car buying experience were always pressure salesmen, haggle and several hours of headaches; Jennifer turned that around and was very helpful, knowledgeable and best of all no pressure and made me feel like I was talking to a long time friend.
My experience from the moment I walked in to the moment I drove my new truck away was over the top. Even when it came to financing and signing all the paperwork Lee made it painless. Purchased a 2019 Prius AWD from Rick Gonnella and Team Toyota earlier this month. A really smooth and easy sales experience. Rick was knowledgeable and helpful, especially in going thru the sophisticated electronic options and menus at delivery. We previously had a 2005 Prius, this new car is just fantastic. It is nimble and easy to drive, and I'm currently at 58.3 MPG at 700 miles. Unbelievable. I highly recommend both Rick and Team Toyota.
