Tampa Improv Festival Review

We saw Leanne Morgan and she was hilarious! I loved the old building. We didn t eat, but the food around us looked amazing. I drank Grown-Up Cherry Coke. I WILL be ordering that again real soon. Very close seating, but if the entertainment is good, you won t mind.

Acoustics in upper level was not great and service was VERY SLOW.

We have a great time every time losts of laughter n fun.

Surprised they had high quality comedians like Russell Peters!!! The food could be improved.

I enjoyed John Witherspoon and the other two comedians I also enjoyed the menu and of course the spirits

Show didn't start on time had people cramped up ceiling leaking I don't think I will attend that improv again

Went to see Arsenio Hall and enjoyed my time. Wait service was quick and responsive.

We enjoyed Bill Bellamy! Improv brings great talent to the Tampa area.

It was a great time with family; however, Improv need more servers to serve tables. We had to wait about 30 minutes for our meals and drinks.

The Sweeting was way too close together we said at a square table the table next to us the lady sitting in the seat next to us was pushed up against the empty seat that was at our table there's no room for anyone else to get in there depending on where you were sitting you either working hard or soft or hard right we're behind you to see the show the prices there seem to be very high I had a hamburger and two glasses of soda my son had a quesadilla and a can of pop it was $53 for the bill that was just for food in the three soft drinks but the show itself was excellent

Nice venue, we went to see Cheryl Underwood. Great show.

With the rise in Covid cases would think they would have the tables a little more spread out. Signs on the floor to stay 6 ft apart but the table or 4 was about 18 inches from us. Food was okay for a comedy club. Little over cooked and dry.

Rude as hell staff. Bathrooms were so dirty and the drinks were definitely watered down.

Tj was very funny. Great cozy place. Nice big bar. In the middle of everything.

I went to the brandon rogers show and he was amazing. The staff were very diligent in the guests orders as well. Great chill atmosphere, not completely family friendly though.

First time I've ever been to a comedy club and of course I chose the best night to go...Jay Mewes!!! Really nice venue, the service was awesome, the drinks were just right and the food was absolutely delicious!!!

Awesome experience at the Improv Theater. The outside is very deceiving. When you arrive you wait inline outside a small door but, as soon as you get inside, you are inside of a larger bar. You can enjoy a few drinks before the show starts. Finally, you are brought into the theater, that is very well done, and massive. You can opt for your own server that will bring you food and drinks throughout the show. Excellent night out!

Went to see Shuler King, they had a power failure and no backup generator.

The show was great however the Customer service was horrible our waitress Tee was rude as can be and took 30min.- about an hour it felt to bring us our drinks it was literally one of the worst experiences I have gone through especially on a night out with my husband. Everyone even people that came way after us had their orders already. My husband had to actually tell another waitress to get our order if possible or go get the waitress. After this when my husband goes to pay the bill reflected a 18-20% tip already calculated in the total so we ended up paying about a $10 tip for horrible service and two muthaF*kn Drinks!!!

You'll find great comedians, cheap drink/ food and the seating is done well with plenty of room. Sounds system is clean and not raspy. Decor is simple but tasteful. Service was throughout the show and wonderful.

The service varies greatly from aggressively hostile to a Disney style welcome. For the price it is a good night out and a nice building to spend time in. They have many great acts and is very close to a selection of bars and restaurants to keep the night going.

The venue itself is a historic building, as most in Ybor are. When you first walk in there's a bar to catch a drink before the show starts. Lots of seats available on the floor. There's also two balcony areas.

Food and drink can be ordered during the show and it's been consistently good. Drinks aren't cheap, but you get a fair pour.

I used to love this place. The comedians were always funny and service was slow in the dining room but still good. Last night, service was bad and unfortunately the comedians weren't very funny this time around. My biggest beef was about the service, and forcing me to give 15% is ridiculous! I will definitely re-think coming back.

We had a great time and the food is decent for a comedy club. Give them a try!

I was just turned away at the window when trying to buy a gift card. They told me that I could only buy one online. Wow! I bought one at the window last year and many years prior. Clearly, management has not put much thought into this. Pretty sad.

Earthquake was hilarious! The venue itself left something to be desired. It was filled to capacity, the service was terribly slow and the bill was incorrect- overcharge. Apparently, this is a regular practice of the establishment as the bill was incorrect- for two tables in my immediate vicinity. There was no social distancing between tables.

I really like this place. I haven't been to many comedy clubs but this place seems pretty cool. I've only been here twice to see Bert Kreischer, and really liked it. I think I prefer to sit up stairs over down stairs. The place is a decent size,but has a nice personal feel to it. I need to return to see some other comics...

Was great time! King Shuler was hilarious! The service was not good. Took forever to get our drinks or refills. It didn't seem organized. And the ticket booth situation. I came up there Sat. Sunday at 4:00. Nobody there to sell me a ticket? The worker outside told me someone would be there at that time. I was having trouble getting tickets on line, that's why I tried to get from the box office. And when ordering on line, they only let you buy a 2 table or a 4 table.I needed a 3 table. So, glad the box office was open at 6:00 the night of the show. Now I know what to expect.

Everyone who works there is extremely friendly, competent, very nice. Love goimg there. We didnt have to wait for drinks, as busy as it was. No one went woth out for any length of time. Definitely going back

The venue is nice and they normally book really good acts, but the table service is fairly slow.

Enjoyed Doug Stanhope at the Improv. Had good service and good drinks. Prices are not too bad - for a captive audience. Tip- go to Berninis for pre show dinner with half priced entrees until 7 and 3 buck martinis.

Happened a few years back when Ralphie May was there (R.I.P). Security came up to my table twice because I was laughing too loud...in a comedy club. Got thrown out because I wouldnt cater to his lack of an ego....typical ybor!!!

The Improv had good food, good drinks server was awesome. Another great date night! Laughed our A@# off!

Great place for something fun to do in Tampa! The drinks and food are not the best. Not enough options at the bar either.

Saw Eddie Griffin, show was great! Waitress did great job to say she had so many tables to wait on. This place is too small, I'm quite sure it was packed beyond capacity. Definitely against fire code. Tables were so close hardly any walking room in between tables.

Nice but very cluttered. If you're cluster phobic this isn't the place for you.

Went to see Margaret Cho on April 27th and had a fantastic experience! Employees were courteous and attentive, drinks were delicious and reasonably priced, and of course the entertainment was top-notch. Looking forward to going back!

After standing and waiting for entrance into the Improv about 45 mins, we had an amazing time. Guy Torry was hilarious. Great show. The food was good, however the drinks for the price, were a bit watered down to me.

Great atmosphere, food and drinks. Saw nephew Tommy had so much laughter.

Went to see Jeremy Piven with my fr9and we had a great time. And received good service.

Came to the improve theater on 7/17 to see Benito Skinner with my friend. The venue itself is nice but the process to be seated is a little weird. Anyways we got seated with a couple and everyone around us is being served and getting drinks and food. An hour goes by and the show has started and not a single server has acknowledged our presence or even walked by our table to grab someone. A guy at our table finally got up to go find someone to get us drinks. My tab at the end of the night was about $43 with the forced 18% gratuity added. The next day I check my bank statement and it says I have been charged $74!!! Absolutely awful experience, got refunded the overcharged amount but didn't really make up for the bad experience.

Craig Robinson and crew were awesome! We live the venue! Great spot, great talent comes through

This place is hit and miss. Even the food is hit or miss. Some time we run in funny people and some time this place is so lame. Wayne brother was not funny. I guess way he his the brother that not on Netflix
