Nice staying at the Talbot hotel will definitely be bck

The Talbot Hotel is a very pristine and unique looking hotel, and is a joy to stay in. From the initial entrance we were impressed by it's slick appearance, then upon reaching the reception desk we were greeted by a very friendly and accommodating employee who handled our reservation quickly and professionally.
When we arrived to our room, it was a very spacious and comfy space with all the amenities a person would reasonably like to have in their room. The beds were very comfortable, mattresses were soft and warm. Only negative would be that the tv didn't have a great selection of channels.

Overall however the Talbot is certainly worth the cost of a visit. And further beyond our experience there is also a gym and other facilities that we did not avail of, but are open to guests.

Comfy quite rooms. Nice pool. Lovely staff. Amazing for kids with a kids club which shows a movie every night in a conference room. There's a kids jungle gym next door split in 2. One for under 5 one for over 5 they also do bowling and have arcade games. The ivy rooms snooker Hall across the road and indoor go kart racing around the corner. No matter what the age the kids are sorted. Highly recommend. Lost a star due to a bad experience in the bar with food the first night but we arrived late. Made up for it on the second night.

Lovely clean, spacious hotel. Nice gym and swimming pool. Great bar food and hugh dome entertainment centre next door.

There was drilling noises at twenty past eight which woke me up,they shouldn t be doing it so early

I stayed there Saturday night spa was lovely but rest of the staff was not felt very uncomfortable manager was terrible breakfast was cold I always stay there but after that I don't think I would return there again

Staff are so lovely..beautiful clean rooms and the food was gorgeous...hats off to the chef...we'll be back

With this being our first visit to a hotel since covid19 reared its head all I can say is well done to all the staff at the Talbot hotel carlow.We were expecting weird changes....the only changes we had were booking breakfast and the swimming pool as everything else we had to book anyway.never felt relaxed and the kids had a ball thank you for everything and welcome to the world baby Archie x

Can't share enough about this place. Stay away. At a family event recently and 50 people for the event as per covid. Condiments on table instead of individual sachets, and they were filthy as were the cups laid out for tea. One of our group were given a glass so dirty, you wouldn't put it down for your dog. Sandwiches were delivered on plates to share, again not as requested by covid, individual portions are the rule. And for the 3 hours we were in attendance, not one member of staff checked on the toilets, and main door to them was closed instead of open which necessitated us having to use tissues all the time to get into and out of the bathroom. No sterilising fluid anywhere for guests. In these times especially, standards are supposed to be exceptionally high and this hotel was left sadly lacking, and bottom of the heap. Would definitely recommend NOT to attend functions ar this hotel.

Joined the inspirit gym at the beginning of the year for a short period of time then cancelled due to severe overcrowding, machines were never available and couldn't move in the pool! Last month noticed a direct debit through my bank account I didn't recognize, taking precious bill money that nearly got my insurance cancelled! Anyway, phoned the company to find out the Talbot hotel had shared my bank details and all of my personal information with this company to illegally take money for a service I was no longer availing of. No apology from Talbot and was basically kicked back out the door when I complained. I thought I was finished with the whole ordeal when my mother asked me to check a direct debit on her account yesterday. She had done the exact same as me earlier in the year and there was Ashbourne management acting on behave of the Talbot hotel taking a SECOND payment! She then went over to ask why this money was being debited and was just given the phone number and told to leave. Then the management of the Talbot hotel had the audacity to ring my mother and abuse her on the phone today. What you have done is illegal and immoral. You had no permission to share our private details and you and your direct debit company had no right to withdraw money from our bank accounts. I hope anyone thinking of going to this hotel reads this and sees they are gangsters before it is too late! Also refunds take 1 month! Well able to illegally take but can't put it back as quick??? Disgusting yee should be ashamed.

Had a great wedding reception for a family wedding.First class venue for this.

Stayed for a business trip and it did the job nicely

Booked in for a night due to a work function. Ended up getting a suite and it was absolutely amazing. The room was so luxurious and the bathroom was so spacious. The food in the bistro was delicious as well. Would highly recommend and will be also going back in a non work capacity too.

Staff always friendly and very comfortable seating in bar and dining areas. Bedroom caters well for all needs and beds very comfy. Excellent parking spaces.

Use to love going to this hotel years ago now its totally gone downhill, i always get there top room a suite. this time room was dirty broke and loose furnishings, curtain rail shower head and door etc, maintenance not good at all. Bar full of undesirables off the street rowdy, not hotel guests lobby full of screaming kids from the swimming pool its more like trabolgan then a hotel, wont be returning again.

Going this Tuesday coming please reply and tell me about your week or months or days
And if theres no kiddy's pool this hotel is lame and dumb close the hotel also got room service but the kitchen was closed at 9:00pm kitchen hours have to be changed !

Nice couple of day's staff are very nice and friendly.we had a wedding in Carlow and all of the guest's that travelled stayed in the Talbot Hotel and had only good thing's to say

Beautifully decorated spacious rooms, restaurant and bar food fabulous (would recommend goats cheese, the muscles and the bacon and cabbage ) every member of staff excellent and friendly, light entertainment in bar created a great atmosphere, we were a party of six adults and all enjoyed it thoroughly, we will be back !

Lovely hotel and have stayed there a couple of times.
However this visit wss to donate blood.
I would recommend a visit to stay in this hotel.

If you are considering this as your choice of wedding venue, go for it! The attention to detail every single staff member has is beyond the personal touch, 5 years later we returned for our Anniversary and they made us feel as special as the day we got married. Thanks to all the team, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and appreciated the efforts made by your team.

Had lunch here today very good, staff very friendly and attentive. Nice experience.

Despite being a little far out of town, it is a beautiful building with a large banquet hall and good food. The bar is reasonably priced too.

Stayed in the Talbot hotel for mothers day and have to say can not fault the staff or the food was amazing want to thank Mary and Ross who looked after us in the dining room for both dinner and breakfast and to Vicky on reception was so helpfull and to Sam and Sebaston who looked after us in the bar ,we will be back and thanks again for an amazing weekend

Just back from a 3 night stay in the Talbot Hotel in Carlow.stayed in room 206.from the time we checked in to check out time was a fab stay.The bed i slept in has to be one of the most comfortable beds ever.Our room was fab n nice n cosy.Staff are excellant and the food was just fab.We swam in the pool which was terrific.Will definitely be going back to stay again.I have to say the people we met and spoke to in Carlow town were all so friendly and helpful.So looking forward to my next visit to the Talbot.Cheers.

Love this place for a bit of bar food and a drink, well worth the visit, good value and a nice lunch menu with carvery if that's your thing. Service is also top notch

Gone downhill a bit, place was cold in bar/restaurant and lacked the good service it did have

Very large room - well maintained and clean. Large hotel, correspondingly busy and thus a bit impersonal. The staff was always very friendly. Breakfast was on the top floor with a great view. Unfortunately a bit clear.

Staff were fantastic and friendly food was ok nothing to write home about it was just the bed was so uncomfortable and hard is the reason why I only gave 2 stars.

Lovely place only gripe I'd have is the long queue to use the toaster each morning
