Lovely friendly and efficient staff. The buffet restaurant is excellent and the management there are very attentive.

Reception staff lovely on checking in but after that break venue was not satisfactory. Food and drink service was disappointing with mix up in food orders etc, poor management was clear. Up in room 2 remotes to operate TV (remotes were damaged, no back on one batteries exposed- toddler in room!) needed to call room service to watch TV. Overall place needed upgrade and is looking tired internally, location was good for shop and there is nice view of field while have breakfast.

Nice hotel but the bathrooms could be better.cracked tiles water damaged bath front.only one station one tv.i asked for no red onion on sandwich and they put the whole onion on it.

Well located on ring road . Good breakfast though more expensive than the norm.

Just celebrated our wedding there and couldn't recommend the place highly enough. Had complete confidence in Niamh and everyone from early in the planning and they did not disappoint. Room and meal were fantastic, there were so many little touches to our day to even begin to mention, and the honeymoon suite is gorgeous. All the staff in the hotel are so friendly and helpful, and make it a wonderful place to spend a weekend. Compliments from everyone.

Gone to the pits, most people using the bar and gym are undesirables, children running everywhere around the lobby, staff not bothered rooms are very bad and unclean, not even a 2 star hotel, will never set foot in here again.

Book over night stay with evening meal and breakfast. Lovely welcome on arrival by reception. Our room the lights didnt work straight away we were moved to a new room.
Rooms are spacious. Beds are super comfy. We went for the meal our servers were richard and vanessa so nice (they are credit to your hotel)

The food that I got looked very nice and it was very hot but as we got our food I went looking for a table to sit at the restaurant was full except for a bar stool and high table I saw that there was a lady sleeping in a chair at a set of two tables with bags on the other chairs I asked the management of they could ask he if she could move as she was not eating at the restaurant only to be told that the lady was waiting for her room to be ready I asked if she could not wait in the lobby as it was 1:30pm and he just walked away.We started eating the dinner and it was very nice but when I was half way through the chicken I found something in the stuffing when I asked the waitress she had no idea so I could not finish my dinner so it was not a good experience

Had my daughter confermation lunch booked in Talbot Hotel.Never ever had feel so welcomed and greated anywhere else.The food was fabulous,portion sizes huge, service amaizing and little attention to the detail. Even three course menu designed with my daughter name on it with welcome message on it for each guest. thank you Talbot hotel for bowling voucher gift in Dome. Everybody had such a wonderful and unforgettable day I would highly recommend this experience to anybody

Rooms where incredible, the staff where exceptional and could not do enough to help. Myself and family where so impressed Amanda especially was incredible I'd recommend you give her a raise because you never want to lose her!

Kids enjoyed staying here only downside when it's warm you can't stay in the room as there is not much ventilation as the windows only open a bit so couldn't sleep in the night... It was our second time visiting this hotel..

This hotel has ample parking, up to date furniture and decor and outstanding staff 24/7. We enjoyed the restaurant and bar on several occasions and would have enjoyed the pool except that the sheer number of kids was overwhelming, so we stayed away. Special shout out to Patrick, a fantastic waiter who works in the restaurant/pub and made us feel so welcome and special. A top rate gym is also on site. The room was large and the bed comfortable. Sadly, there are no refrigerators or microwave ovens in the rooms but there is a kettle and coffee supplies. The hotel is a 20-25 minute walk or 5 minute drive from downtown amenities.
We would definitely like to stay there again. The hotel was a highlight of our Carlow visit.

I had a great experience at the Talbot hotel in Carlow as I was a the auction of the sale of the contents of Milford House and bought the most amazing item's of period Georgian funiture at this sale which was conducted by Mealy's auction house the most professional people in the business. Many thanks to the staff of the hotel for there hospitality and attention to detail

Slight problem with TV and card key but both sorted out quickly. It would be nice if breakfast ran for longer at the weekend as myself and other residents were turned away from the dining room. Other than that it was a comfortable stay.

Just back from a three night stay here with my husband, my Mother and my mother in law and it was fantastic. Staff are so helpful and friendly nothing was too much for them. Girls at reception were lovely and check in was fast. Rooms were big, bright and clean. Food was lovely service was very good. Bar staff also very nice. A brilliant time was had by all of us. Will definitely be returning.

Where do i start.Food not great the wine list starts at 27 euro.in fairness a great kids club the pizza was disgusting.staff friendly but went to pool today .no locker keys so take jour chance on being robbed and to be honest no life guard im still shaking as i saved a young girls life today who was drowning beside me......,

We had a lovely evening in The Talbot Hotel in Carlow. We was greeted by a lovely manager called Michael who couldn't have been more helpful & then we was served by a lovely chap called Sam in the bistro/bar area. Thank you to them both for making our trip a relaxing & welcimin one.

Generic hotel with bar, restaurant and pool. Friendly staff, plenty of car parking and not to far from Carlow town.

Stayed 2 nights beds are comfy and clean breakfasts are fab

Have 3 children with us and trying to sleep on 3rd floor while theres a wedding in full flight, the noise is the worst I've ever experienced in a room.

Dropped in for lunch in the bar, great food at very reasonable price. Great service from very friendly staff. Can't go wrong for a quick bite if in the area.

Lovely hotel and bar, helpful staff, very good food, haven't used in leisure Centre.

Carvery food is excellent. Great choice of food to suit all tastes. Always busy but never a long wait! I usually go for the breaded chicken

Love this hotel can not recommend it enough. myself and my husband came here for years before we had our wedding here in February 2017. The manager Michael is a gent looks after us every time we come. Staff are so nice, great service and the food is top notch!! Our wedding was amazing everything was perfect on the day and the complements we got of all our guests about the food were unreal everyone enjoyed it, highly recommend a stay here but also as far as wedding venues go this is as good as it gets.

Rooms have everything you need and are clean could possibly do with updating. Breakfast was hit and miss on the morning of our stay anyway. It's location is excellent, staff are friendly.

We travel from Tullamore through Carlow regularly & always pull into Talbot for lunch, great choice of food

Stayed for the weekend with 13 family members. The staff were so friendly and efficient. Would definitely stay here again!

Just one note but kids club was a big hit with kids going into Dome

Was there for a seminar few weeks ago. Great facilities and service.

Hotel disappointing
1. Expensive
2. No toilet facilities on floor 3
3. Stairs to escape fire on floor 3 not clearly signed
4. Breakfast layout for toast is crazy
5. Tea And coffee service very poor at breakfast
6. Request for Hop beer refused because tap empty.
Needs to improve a lot to give value for money

An extremely welcoming venue. Friendly and professional staff, who clearly enjoyed their duties. Wonderful reception with no tention or rushing of guests. Food was delicious, served hot and fast, an absolute pleasure. Would definitely recommend The Talbot Carlow.

I must say we went to aisling and Mary wedding on the 16-7-15 and what a fantastic day and night. The staff and food was fantastic even came around with seconds witch is a first. The bedrooms was grand good and big and breakfast was fantastic did the job it would set you up for the day. Also we had eaten in the bar the night before the wedding and it was lovely and good value.

Excellent place to stay staff were very helpful and courteous and the food was gorgeous. Would recommend to friends.

Staff are absolutely fantastic and couldn't be nicer. The rooms are lovely and the bed is comfy. Exactly what you want after a full day or travel and work.
