Good hotel at the outskirts of Carlow town. Good place for a drink with friends, food was good, staff friendly and efficient. 4 stars rating because of car parking in front of the hotel....a bit too small and busy. (I don't know if Talbot hotel has another car park or not) Did not use rooms as i was at celebration there in evening/night hours.

Staff friendly but very slow on service when coming back to take order. Room very spacious and clean but TV did not work. Breakfast was good. Evening Bar food menu very good but menu in the restaurant could do with lot more choice for evening meals. Hotel very easy to find and the town center is only a few minutes drive. All in all not a bad hotel to stay in.

Never mind coffee, you got to try the hot chocolate here. Absolutely delicious! The bar is loud and lively so if a quiet chat is more your thing, the lobby offers very comfortable seating areas. For dining the value is certainly competitive and food is good quality. Half portion of most dish are available depending on your requirements.

Noisiest hotel I have ever stayed in across any county or country. It is now 5am I have phoned reception twice once at 2am once at 5 am to ask if something can be done about the noise from 3 other rooms that we are unfortunate enough to be sharing the same floor with. To be fair a member of staff has come up twice but as soon as they leave the shouting and slamming of doors starts again so unfair as I am sure I have paid the same amount for my room as these other guests have. Booked a party package music and food good and staff pleasant but I definitely won't be back would have got more sleep in a train station.

Nice hotel, good size parking and easy access. Staff were professional and courteous. Food served was very good and they delivered to the room where we had a meeting. Layout of the hotel was a little weird and not the easiest to get around.

Hotel itself alright from my opinion, but it's strange thinks in that hotel, like: fire alarm tasting 7:45am on Sunday. And when I asked in reception I was told that what they always do don't worry nothing serious.
Then before leaving hotel we decided to relax in sauna and swimming pool. And that was my biggest mistake! Even walking from reception to changing rooms facilities looks like after bombing, materials from selling, and walls falling down. Carpet looks like never was hovered.
Not better in changing rooms. Floors covered in mood, paper rubbish, napkins to youngsters staff to busy in reception chatting about weekend but to a bit cleaning to much for them.lockers can't be locked. in reception I was told that you have to bring your own pad lock. If some facilities using lockers locked by paddlock you can rent them in reception, but not in carlow talbot hotel.
Stem room- chewing gum on floors every where. Timber boards loose and rotten, pieces of wood falling down. Cold shower, beside sauna, to run shower you have to hold button all the time, steel protection around button hanging loose. When I requested to see manager (Michael I think that how he introduced himself)Looks like he have no clue what is going on in this part of the building, he started explaining that lockers you can buy or rent in gym reception (which is not), chewing gum he said he never saw it, sellings he said yes it have to be fixed ( at least hower floors). Because of this experience I can say
TALBOT HOTEL CARLOW worst place I experienced in Ireland. I bin in wexford Talbot, Dublin it's like day and night. Wexford is not biggest town also but stadarts in wexford and carlow can be compared.
Swimming facilities have to be shut down for breaching health and safety standards

I stayed at this hotel with majestic coach tours . The rooms were clean and well kept but the shower in the bathroom was poor the shower head needed attention . Clean towels were provided each day they were small but clean . The public area were clean and the staff very hard working . The meals were good but did arrive in an erratic way due to the number of people being served .the gym and pool were average in line with council run facilities but the staff were polite . The Jacuzzi needs some attention to be given to the drainage area around it . My stay was comfortable and the beds very comfortable very good hotel for a short stay .

Lovely hotel friendly staff and great having the Dome next door for the kids to entertain. Kids club also seemed to be great. Its close to Carlow centre few mins drive. On a recent the only negative was waiting long time for food in bar area. Also pool not suitable for small children it has no kids pool. A kids pool for me would make this hotel an excellent one.

We got married in the Talbot Hotel in Carlow in July this year.

Our wedding day was made so very special for us by all the Staff ,down to every last detail before during and after our day. We found everyone we met along the way to be professional and extremely friendly.

Our Wedding meal was exceptional, full of flavour and so fresh, so much so that some of our guests had more than one helping :).

The wedding suite is amazing, we just loved it.

Thank You all for making our Wedding day That extra bit special.

David and Steph.

Just stayed in this hotel and loved everything about it. The food was amazing, the homemade Lazagne was some of the best I've ever tasted. The room service was reasonably priced and delivered promptly. The stand out of this hotel is the staff, we were greeted by Amanda who did everything she could to accommodate our earlier check in time and assisted us with our queries on the local area. Megan part of the bar staff was so friendly and was constantly buzzing around helping customers. I would highly recommend this hotel if you're going to Carlow. The location is also perfect it's a 3 minute drive from the town. Best value for money I've seen in a while. Well done team on top notch service, I hope to return soon.

I really want to share our wonderful experience at this hotel, from arriving, to having dinner, the music in the bar and the very friendly professional staff everything was just perfect . We booked the interconnecting rooms which were very spacious and clean, our 3 children enjoyed the pool while I had my hair done in the salon...it was a great start to a long week end....
Thank you so much for the amazing experience and we hope to be back soon

I would give this place a zero if i could. I have seldom in my life been treated as rudely as I was here. We arrived for our reservation, waited while two staff waited on other people, then one staff person waited on a woman who arrived after us while the other pretended to be reading papers. We waited for the other staff to help the woman who arrived after us, which took quite some time...... We left.
