Nice clean hotel. Good food, frendly staff. Lovely room.

Very pleased with the staff . They were pleasant helpful and could not do enough for you. Food excellent. . Only problem the 2 singers that were on Friday and Saturday night were not very good

Lovely hotel just a short stroll from the town. Rooms were very spacious and the facilities are super. Only thing was the breakfast wasnt great. My kids like to eat pastries and they were not refilled when Empty from the buffet

Great spot for either a nice lunch or a pint or two with your friends and also very good spot for food or functions and parties also within the Carlow area

On this occasion we ate in the bar. Food was excellent and service was very efficient.
I've stayed here a number of times and have never been disappointed with the standard of the room or more important, the breakfast.
Would highly recommend this hotel if you looking for a place to stay in the Carlow area.

Fantastic place, comfortable rooms lovely friendly atmosphere and staff

Had the kids and they didn't show the international match with Ireland so when my 9 year old ask to watch the darts they refused then at 10 if you had kids you were Sheppard out of the lounge to sit with them in what I can only describe as hallway with seats. Not all bad as staff were very friendly.

Staff are absolutely lovely but so over worked go above and beyond I'd give 5 stars alone for staff but hotel itself is far from 4 stars first got there room smelt vile like sewridge they had to move us room cleaning lady was saying it was fine manager moved is straight away no problems 2nd room was fine food wasnt the best and was expensive had to eat else were as kids wouldn't even eat the food curry tasted like a reheat chicken was rubbery and I'm never usually fussy with food breakfast we missed as had no docket for the door and had been up all night the 1st night hadnt been giving a bed for the baby the lady never came back with it she fell out the bed 3 times and noise on landing had us all in broken sleep smell of cigarettes in our room and on landing was awful new years night was awful kids running wild literally not a parent in site trying to get into our room half the night setting alarms off fights all night kids playing football on corridors kicken are door I have 5 children so I no about noise but this was just awful no sleep last night due to scraps next door to us called management they came an sorted it until they were gone it started again bed was comfy tho pillows were ruff we had left this morning by 10 o clock very disappointed would never return

Staff are very frendly. Food is very good and a reasonable price as well.

Very clean, good for kids, found food service very slow.

Didn't enjoy my 8 days here, spew in hallway took 3 days to clean, the room felt dirty, and the sink stunk of sewage when you brushed teeth. I would rather stay in a doggy bag. On the plus side the food was awesome and the staff in restaurant were lovely. Shame about the rest, room to improve

Confusing entrance - surrounded by car park with little indication of the proper entrance. The foyer is nice. Ate a chicken and salad sandwich - the main ingredients were bread and mayonnaise followed by salad and, in last place, a flavouring of chicken - a poor effort.

Did not stay here. Booked without my knowledge and they claim they tried to ring me when they did not. Then they took money without my consent. Hotel staff very rude when explained everything.

Rooms were very warm. Wasnt overly clean. Sticky tables at dinner.

Nice place to spend few days with your family. The hotel looks like for 3* plus. The rooms are clean, very comfortable beds, swimming pool is lovely for kids, the staff is very kind and nice but they look so short, specially in the restaurant. The owner of the hotel should look around to see how hard they work to manage during breakfast time to make everybody happy. They are late but won't forget which I wasn't able to complain. I will definitly go back!!! PS I really enjoy the evening break when my kids went to kids club. Thank you all!!!!

Great place to stay...the staff are very friendly, the rooms are very spacious.. and the bar is great with music there on Wednesday nights.

Fantastic staff. Nice comfy clean spacious rooms. I dropped a star cos my sleep was interrupted constantly with the noise coming from the ceiling. Didn't hear it last year in a different room when I stayed on 3rd floor. Was in 214 this year 2nd floor.

The staff are so friendly and helpful. The food is amazing and served so quickly. You would have to travel a long way to get somewhere else better. Couldn't recommend it enough. Need more than 5 stars to do it justice.

Really liked our stay...very very nice building and rooms are spacious,modern and clean. Its about a twenty minute walk to the town centre.
Free parking, free WiFi and decent leisure centre.
Enjoyable.... Well kept hotel.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Found feces on the toilet seat in the room. Horrible food, totally disinterested staff. Got our breakfast order wrong, which didnt matter as the food was not edible anyway. A horrible stay.

We stayed a night in this hotel and its a nice peaceful place, the staff are helpful and made our visit really pleasant, the breakfast is excellent with a good selection on offer in the dining room on the fourth floor. Highly recommend this hotel and i would definitely stay here again.

If I could give this hotel 10 stars I would. Stayed as part of a coaching holiday. From the moment I stepped into reception I was impressed. Room keys were quickly and efficiently handed out. Even the lifts were modern.
Our bedroom was amazing - spotlessly clean, big and spacious (most hotel rooms are cramped in comparison) and the television was much bigger than the usual postage stamp size - another bonus.
We had 2 minor problems that only needed a screwdriver to fix and both were dealt with within minutes.
Onto the restaurant - on the top floor so some beautiful scenery. Waiting staff were so helpful and really cared about their guests. Good selection of starters, mains and desserts. Although there was no vegetarian option on our menu it did not prove to be a problem for them when my friend said she was vegetarian- she was given a different meal every night.
Helpful and attentive staff who went out of their way to ensure you enjoyed your stay.

Just back from our second stay and again had an absolute ball....if i was to give out about anything it would be that some of the staff don't know how to press play on the kids movie channel other than that food kids and club was fantastic all staff friendly,polite and nothing is a hassle to ask for.....
Highly recommend for anyone with kids

Beautiful hotel, so clean, everyone's so helpful and you've got a pool for the kids and discounts on the dome beside it which is great to occupy the kids with bowing or quasar on a rainy day

Nice spot, good food and drink, helpful staff. Facilities well maintained.

Fabulous 5-night stay, could not fault anything. Staff were great, breakfast fab, room clean and views great. Bar staff were attentive in the evenings, evening meal in there was lovely.
Used the gym facilities, pool, spa and sauna, all great but bring your own padlock for the lockers!
Definitely stay again!

Great hotel lovely food and the staff are very helpful

Lovely hotel. Loads of parking but can be busy around 5 to 7 pm with people using the leisure centre parking there. Lovely friendly staff at reception and bar. Room was really clean and very comfortable. Good powerful shower and nice shampoo and shower gel. Hotel is located 15 mins walking distance to town centre. Bar was clean and tidy and well priced. I didn't eat breakfast but talking to other guests it seems to be nice with a good choice on offer. I would stay here again.

Just stopped at the Talbot for a bite to eat at 1.30pm today 22nd Oct. on our journey to Wexford This has been a regular stop for us over the years. I was very disappointed with the food. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich. What I received was some packet chicken between 2 slices of bread ( I kid you not!!)and a few green leaves on the side. Enough crisps to feed 3 people which I did not ask for in an attempt to make it look better. Any local garage shop would have provided better. I will not be stopping again.
